I hope he goes before Saturday so we can all just enjoy the tie without any mongs wanting us to get beat.

oh dear, this is where we are for backing Souness 74090 Shepherds the only important person to have backed him. 74103 In Leazes Mag's world, it's ALL my fault. That way he doesn't have to hold Shepherd responsible in any way.
-
In his time here he scored and created more goals than the rest of the midfield combined. 74089 Interesting stuff, but not really a response to the question I asked.

As I said in the other thread I am anxious. I think our chances of dropping further down into the bottom 6 of the table are much higher than closing the gap to the top 6 places. We haven't won a single game this season because we were the better team. The wins against Blackburn, West Ham etc. were flattering. Even when playing against the mackems we looked over large parts as the inferior football team. I just point to the stats of how many points we have won without Owen. In 10 games we got just 6 Points, only winning against the by far worst team of the league (and as I said even that one was lucky). In 7 of these games we even failed to score. With Parker now another important player is missing. I know I am sometimes overpessimistic but ignoring the obvious and doing lalaing by thinking Newcastle would be "too good" to go down this season would be criminal IMHO. 74088 Points taken, but........ Greater than 50% chance? Yes or no?
-
Seems to be the new buzz word on here at the minute. Who is genuinely, seriously of the opinion that we are in any danger of relegation this season? Not just in a Dad's Army "We're doooooomed", something-to-finish-my-post-off with way, but a real genuine belief that we stand a greater than 50% chance of being relegated. I'll stick my neck out and say we'll stop up this season. No bother.
-
Sorry SLP, but I hate this ridiculous notion that Souness "won something everywhere he has been". This doesn't apply to you in the slightest, but some people actually believe that line! I believe the Benfica fans were less than happy with wor Graeme like, I hope the twat never manages another team, unless it's the mackems of course. 74062 He's won something everywhere he's been given time 74063 So have I. 74064 You've never won an argument on here yet. I'm still prepared to give you time though.

Out of interest, what do people think would have been a good price for Robert, given his current contract situation? I reckon we've missed out on 500-750k at best tbh.
-
Cue the Robert fans, having denied that him going to Portsmouth was any reflection on how good he was, turning up and telling us that him signing for Benfica proves that he's great.
-
Any mention of how much cash we've got for the lazy French layabout?
-
I've got Pro Evo 5 and I have yet to score a fucking goal. It's solid!
-
We sold Ambrose though. 74017 So are you telling me we can't recall him then?
-
Can we recall any of them? Not that I think any of them are the answer like. Although Ambrose could do a job.
-
Can't say I've ever felt the urge to write in the muck on a parked vehicle like.

For the umpteenth time: I said that Souness needed time to prove himself one way or the other. He's used that time to prove that he isn't good enough. Which doesn't make me wrong because he still needed that time to prove his inadequacy in his role as manager of Newcastle United (not Liverpool, Blackburn, or any other club he may have been at in the past). It was simply the true, 100% correct statement that "A new manager needs time to prove himself" that makes me RIGHT and not WRONG. FACTARAMA. 73891 Gemmill, you were wrong because you thought he was the man for the job when he came here. That is all I am saying, just admit you were wrong on that aspect and I will never bring it up again. 73902 I didn't think that you knobber! When I first saw his appointment I remember it vividly: I was abroad and I saw it on the BBC website and was as underwhelmed as anyone else. But after the initial disappointment I just thought "Ah well, he's here now. Let's see how the bloke does." Meanwhile, in Newcastle Airport's departure lounge........CARNAGE!!! 73910 The first post I read after coming back from Barcelona (nearly 2 weeks after his appointment) was you saying something like "The more I think about it, the more I think Souness will be good for our club.....". Followed by "Anyone who doesn't think he should get AT LEAST 2 years in the job is a f*****g idiot". Anyway, this is getting beyond pointless now, and I can't prove it, so we may as well drop it. 73914 Making stuff uuuuuup. I did say the thing about giving him 2 years like. And you were fucking idiot numero uno at the time IIRC. I've revised that time period downwards now btw, but don't worry, your "fucking idiot" status remains unaffected. 73916 Cheers for that like. How was I, or am I, a fucking idiot, when most things I predicted under Souness came to pass? 73918 It was a joke. Now stop crying.

The irony tbh 73856 The predictability tbh. If you want to point out where I have been wrong, and I agree, I will be only to happy to admit it. 73858 It was a general comment, I can supply an example from yesterday if you like. 73862 Feel free, but don't bother if it is opinion..... Btw, I may be as bad as Gemmill in this regard, but you are the true king of never admitting you are wrong! 73868 That's bollocks mate, I'm willing to admit when I was wrong. The bit yesterday I'm referring to is saying you'd prefer it if we didn't need a player of Parker's TYPE before changing your mind by claiming he wasn't good enough to be a player in a top side (can't be both I'm afraid ). Incidentally, feel free to point out where I've been wrong without admitting it, but don't bother if it's opinion 73879 OK, I was wrong about that, in a pedantic kind of way. Not quite on the same magnitude of Gemmill's wrongness about Souness however. 73888 This is Renton still DEFINITELY NOT trying to point-score by the way. Just in case anyone missed it.

Bollocks that is Beckham. 73839 Beckham is class. He receives excessive coverage in the media because he takes a good photo ( before anyone else does it) but I don't personally think he's overrated.
-
So just to clarify; in saying the following: "So what's your stance now Gemmill, out of interest? Are you finally going to admit you were wrong in your assertion that Souness should be given a minimum of 2 years to prove himself, regardless of results and performances on the field, and his PR off it? Can we finally expect an "I was wrong" Gemmill exclusive?" you were in no way whatsoever interested in petty point scoring?
-
Relevant in the sense that it would NEVER EVER happen thereby rendering it irrelevant?
-
Uttering the words "Bellamy" and "chinaman's cock" has the same effect on both of them, and avoids me having to lie and say I was wrong.

Are you finally going to admit you were wrong in your assertion that Souness should be given a minimum of 2 years to prove himself, regardless of results and performances on the field, and his PR off it? Can we finally expect an "I was wrong" Gemmill exclusive? 73771 Nope. I think that's about how long a manager needs tbh. I've decided a bit early though that I've seen enough and that he clearly doesn't have what it takes. Just not as early as the day he arrived at the club, which was as much time as you were prepared to afford him. 73782 If Shepherd appoints Peter Reid, how much time would you afford him? 73790 The man who engineered Sunderland's demise? Job for life tbh. 73793 You know what I'm getting at, being facetious changes nothing. For the record Gemmill, I would have given Souness time despite his appalling pedigree, but practically from day one the man showed what an idiot he is. You just can't accept that I was right about him and you were wrong. 73805 Being facetious as in asking silly questions about Peter Reid you mean? I said that once the bloke is appointed he needs time to prove himself. You called for his head from the minute he was appointed, and before he'd even been in charge of a game. Sorry, but I think I'm sounding like the more level-headed one here tbh. I dread to think what will happen if we appoint another manager you don't like the look of. Ok, he's proven that he isn't good enough (using the time that I said he deserved - that's all I said btw, no matter how much you want to make out that I painted him as our messiah). That doesn't make you right and me wrong.

Haway then Tom, who did you support before Liverpool?
