1. What the hell was attractive about Robert? He looks like the bleeding village idiot. Stick him in a jester costume and get him to do that silly dance he did when he scored and he'd look the part.
2. So when does the big Readathon start? 26428 Balls to that. I don't read kid's books. Not even for Michael Owen. 26437 Where is your honour dirtbag, you are an absolute disgrace! 26514 surely not following through with your promise should result in some kind of punishment from the other mods in here. how about putting the fact that he 'Welsh's on his bets should mentioned on his profile! 26589 Go for it. I can take it.
3. But you are about 15 years older than him... 26575 Only 4 actually.
4. Michael Owen shares his birthday with me, the lucky little get.
5. Good luck to you and the missus. Let us know how it goes.
6. Spanish lad that I work with (who knows his football) reckons Luque operates best on the left but can work as a striker if asked to. 26363 I don't want to dispute this. From what I have seen of him (though not very much) he didn't look like an out and out winger. And he is better when going forward then when he has a burden of defensive work to do. 26372 aye. he looks a canny player, but is he really the 'hard working wide man' souness was after? strikes me more of an attacking winger/forward from what i've seen. 26379 They can be one and the same as long as they continue to function when we don't have the ball. I'm sure that's all Souness meant with that comment.
7. I think you're intentionally contrary for the sake of it sometimes, that's all. It's not an insult.
8. You are Captain Contrary, aren't you?
9. Fair enough. I think you're wrong. So that would be a "left winger" at the club. Actually I don't think he's a classic winger but I think he can operate on the left, put crosses in etc. I just wanted to make my response sound as prick-ish as yours.
10. Marcotti is a total cock, he is without doubt the most biased journalist on the planet, if ever you have heard him on talksport the man is a bigot, he cannot debate, he simply shouts down anyone that dares to disagree with him, if its not Italian he's not interested. The best thing he did was Di Canio's biography which I admit is a brilliant book. 26506 Talksport seem to go in for that confrontational phone in bollocks quite a lot. I'm sure some people find it entertaining, but I just find it boring. 26508 Adrian Durham's the one for that. He starts the show with a preposterous statement clearly designed for no other reason than to be controversial and wind people up, and then gets a load of cretins ringing in trying to argue with him.
11. I can't stand to listen to Marcotti. He's so up his own arse and full of shite it's not even funny.
12. He's talking rubbish. Hard to believe that a supposed professional would go on TV and make himself look an idiot by talking shite. Maybe he's the only one Sky could find that would say this - hence providing them with something to pad their schedule out with now that the transfer window's shut. I'm sure the fact that he's a scouser is just coincidence.......
13. We don't lack width on the left. We've got Luque.
14. It's easy to just think of how class he was when fit, and forget how frustrating it was that he played so rarely. I wouldn't want him back I don't think. Too big a risk.

16. If Shola goes, Owen gets the first round in.
17. nah, the year before that we were 3rd, and before that 4th. Souness was appointed to keep us there, at least wasn't he ? No matter what the standard of the rest was, we were 5th best, so we should definitely not settle for less especially now that he has been backed the way he has. At the time Bobby Robson was sacked we thought we were underachieving, not overachieving, and were 4 points behind Liverpool. He's bought himself some time now, Souness, but he's got to do it in my eyes, 6th, 7th or 8th is just not good enough. For this money, it's champions league or a trophy or both. 26407 Fair enough. I hope he delivers on both. Time will tell.
18. Haway Dan, we've improved the first 11 a lot over the summer, but to say it's as good as anyone's in the Premiership isn't right. We've always been able to beat anyone on our day, but I can't agree that our first 11 is as good as Chelsea's. Not at all. 26327 man for man, maybe not in the defence. and obviously we haven't got anywhere near their strength in depth. i still expect us to challenge for a top 4 place with that starting eleven. souness can ask for no more from his chairman. it's time for him to prove his doubters wrong with results. we should go to places like stamford bridge now confident that we can give them as good a game as anyone in the premierhsip. 26342 I worry about both our full backs, but if we can sort them out on the cheap(ish) in January, then we have a very good first team. I think we should be challenging for a European spot this season - hopefully the "guaranteed for UEFA and on the outskirts but still in with a chance of CL" spot. I still think we'll be a mile behind whoever wins the title. 26345 I would say, taking a team that was 5th in the league and spending 46m quid or so on it, [over 50m if we buy the full backs you want] should demand 2nd or 3rd place, ie get much closer to the top, at least to be honest. None of this "we might still be 5th......" 26375 Aye I know you would. But that conveniently ignores the fact that at the time we were punching above our weight, benefitting from the poor performances of the other teams challenging for the same positions, and were a team on the slide. I'm not about to ignore that.
19. Not like me to be the pessimistic one. 26358 Did Renton and you mix up medications? Will we see Renton posting some upbeat endorsements regarding the manager now? 26362 Even the finest heroin money can buy wouldn't get Renton doing that.
