Haven't they changed the rules so that the hosts still have to qualify? Or is it just the current holders that they changed it to? If they haven't made that rule change then they should in time for the 2018 WC.

I can remember us having several bad results under Robson at the start of the season we came 3rd, but I wasn't concerned a bit because I could see we were a good team.
