  1. I don't understand why you think that "it's too ridiculous to take seriously". The rules are ridiculous, but they ARE the rules, and it's widely accepted that we are currently in breach of them and need to sell to fix that. "Look how hard we worked to comply, but we just couldn't get a deal sorted" is not going to work as an excuse. If they allow it once, the last week in June will just become a period where all of the clubs in PSR bother frantically "enter into negotiations", only to throw their hands up on 1st July and cry "Dammit!.... but at least we tried!" We're in bother. We're gonna have to sell someone to get out of it, or we're gonna take a points deduction. Telling yourself otherwise is daft.
  2. I mean half an hour later he's posted this, so basically take no comfort from that last tweet.
  3. I don't think it is at all. I think we're trying to comply with the rules and we'll have to sell someone to do so, and we're exploring all options. Why would Liverpool play along with this if it was all just a ruse?
  4. If we're prepared to sell Gordon, then Bruno and Isak are also absolutely for sale. It's a joke this though. All to meet an arbitrary figure. I'd honestly take the 6 point deduction over this. It might cost us CL but it's not gonna relegate us or anything. Good chance selling one of these lads costs us CL anyway.
  5. Fuck this shite. What's the fucking point.
  6. Isn't gig pricing the way it is cos artists no longer make any money from record sales?
  7. PL and wykikitoon missed the end cos they were "tired", aka trapped under a web of their disgusting spunk.
  8. Yeah a good chunk of their campaign has been funded by the racist Frank Hester's money. Still shite that anyone is getting called that in an election campaign on 2024, but the government is responsible for some of the standard-setting here, and they decided that what Hester did was OK, and in fact for a long period of time refused to even properly condemn it for fear of offending the racist donor.
  9. Pleased to hear that scene was a big feature in other people's youths too.
  10. When I worked at PwC, they give you like a mentor manager type person. Mine was this manc lad that drove a Subaru Impreza and had hair like Foden. Ahead of his time. His advice to me was that I needed to establish a reputation where people thought "This is Gemmill and Gemmill doesn't take any shit" and all I could think of as he was saying it was that scene. Me strutting from side to side and saying "Nooo shit. No shit Rick.... I'll take a little bit of shit, don't take much shit"
  11. Gene Wilder / Richard Pryor. Dream ticket. Just need to bring them back from the dead.
  12. Billy Butcher's accent is FUCKING BRUTAL BTW. The Fish is right to call it out.
  13. Aye it's clearly complete bullshit but Farage is on Loose Women saying that Reform are the victims of a stitch up. Meantime the PM is on BBC news actually saying "effing Paki". Tbf he seems genuinely upset, as he should be - reckons it's been hard for his kids. Ladies and gentlemen, the state of UK politics in 2024! Farage really is a deeply unpleasant force in this country.
  14. Don't you mean GEN V, David?! I've watched it. It was pump.
  15. There's stuff on twitter saying basically good luck with the black vote if you dispose of Kamala Harris in favour of the white dude from California.
  16. I've started Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix. It's entertaining enough but it's so stupid how quick everything is happening to speed the story along. Politician gets accused of rape. There's no police interviews, no arrests, he just finds out he's been accused of rape (via the press iirc) and more or less the very next scene he's at trial.
  17. That extra time pissing about with quotes has cost you HUGE!
  18. "You answered every question!" Fucking embarrassing this. It's the Huggies Pull-Ups "I'm a Big Boy Now!" award ceremony. If, as is widely suggested, she is the only person who could convince him to stand down, she should be ashamed of herself if he's still there in November.
  19. It's Van De Ven, but when he's skidding along on his head.
  20. If they replaced Biden with Newsom or Whitmer, they would walk the election. The country would breathe a huge sigh of relief to be presented a young, vibrant candidate, and the difference when stood alongside Trump would jar people into voting for the Democrat. Fucking ridiculous to be leaving it to hope that Biden can squeak through and not descend into full senility between now and November.
  21. The Democrats could still replace Biden, but the reaction to last night seems to be "But Trump lied, why didn't CNN fact check him". Lads, he's been lying solidly since 2016. Nobody cares that he lies. You need to give people a compelling alternative, and Biden isn't it.
