1. They need to outlaw smoking in the Platinum Club to make it decent. Going in at half time it's like a working men's club with the haze of cigarette smoke in the air. The seats are good though.
2. No platnium club boy! They ordered in some pink wine for yet? I tell you, if Harewood had of been in the Ingerland squad they wouldn't of been butt fucked by those poncy Portugese. But Sven the fucking book end couldn't see it I tell you. And Harewood, just to go on with the point, is just like Sir Les in that he has been neglected, ignored even by the national team. And would transfer to us from an unfashionable Laaandaan team. The similarities are endless. 164405 You Aussie mental case! This is exactly why they shouldn't let lesser developed nations like you have access to the internet, never mind actually let you watch football! I am hoping for some Zinfandel in the Platinum Club, but I fear my tastes may be too refined. I'll let you know. I haven't drunk that Aussie stuff yet though. Might have it tonight.
3. Ah right. So we should be ok then. Cheers.
4. can't understand that tbh. It's good seeing a few images here and there, plus avatars make the users instantly recognisable (yes more than the name). If you're gonna do that, you might as well just read a book! 164386 What are you talking about, you half-French mentalist??
5. I'm paying £20 and sitting in the Platinum Club. Kiss my feet scummers!
6. What are the teams that we could get drawn against then? I want someone very beatable.
7. I'm pretty sure that's not the next line.
8. I've now got that Bugsy Malone song in my head: So you waaaaanna be a boxah? In the golden ring. Can you punch like a southbound freight train? Tell me just one thing.
9. Right, I'll watch it then. Cheers.
10. I keep meaning to change it but then forget when I'm at home. I've got my account set up so that I don't see avatars or sigs, so it isn't bothering me. Oh and: http://www.thinkbox.tv/server.php?show=nav.28&chapterId=4
11. According to MattM4 if you go on the club shop website, all of the player/number combinations are on there. You can get 11-Duff. Milner is nowhere to be seen..................curiouser and curiouser.
12. Yes please. And sorry for nicking what you'd heard and posting it as my "what-I've-heard. I did credit you though. All you need do now is tell us who told you.
13. I've seen him at the gym before. He clearly felt intimidated by my physique.
14. See, no mocking. And I feel buoyed by the positivity of what you had to say. This thread is like therapy. More! More!
15. Is this actually any good then? Is it worth starting to watch? Oh and if so, what night's it on please? Thank yooooo!
16. So far I've heard (from Gol and an independent lad on N-O - yes, I know ) that a fee has been agreed with Werder Bremen, and (Gol) we are awaiting a response from the player, (N-O lad) we are discussing terms with the player. The N-O lad claims that he's been told that the club are very worried that Owen will never be the same player again, and so are going for Klose as a contingency. I also heard from a lad called Kevin at work ( impeccable sounding source ) that we met with Ashton's representatives at the weekend and the deal is pretty much sorted, to be unveiled later this week. Come along now, don't be shy. No one gets mocked for saying what they've heard in this thread! It's a mock-free zone.
17. Wait til Klose/Ashton is unveiled later this week!
18. Wigan really do want their arses kicking for paying that for him like. He's not a bad player in all honesty, but he's worth nowhere near £5.5m. I'm tipping Wigan to go down like, I also reckon Man city will gan down as well. 164336 When you think of Duff for £5m and Heskey for £5.5m like.... They must have gone in with that as their opening bid because there's no way Birmingham would have been cheeky enough to turn down something like £3m or above for him. Wigan will miss Bullard, and a lot of their players who played above themselves in their first season in the top flight won't be able to raise their game this year. I think you might be right about them going down.
19. You maybe right, I maybe crazy! Scotty my boy now I can't say from watching them in the flesh but on my 04 CM! We had a lot of hammers games shown here last season and Harewood reminds me so much of Sir Les. Power, strength, pace. That ability to switch it on and off. And I haven't seen that in Ashton - he seems very one paced (read slow), a lot like God these last two seasons and is that what we really need? 164331 Sammy, Harewood has definitely got power, strength and pace......but so's Emile Heskey. Ashton looks the more intelligent player, and at 22 (?) looks a much better player than Harewood does at nearly 27 IMO. By the way, comparing him to Sir Les is an insult to the great man.
20. I wondered about that like. If they did they would have had no concept of what would follow, but that's no excuse.
21. Prefer Harewood personally - more like Sir Les. 164327 You crazy fool tbh. Ashton looks a much better player than Harewood. As for the Rooney thing, the "If no one else had come in.." line doesn't exactly make us sound first choice. I think somewhere else he says "I would have gone anywhere to get away from Moyes" which again doesn't exactly sound great. Having said that, I STILL believe that that was a genuine attempt by Shepherd to sign him, as borne out by the fact that we signed Owen the following year. Would have been fantastic to see him here, but let's face it, we would have ruined the poor bastard by now.
22. I like it, how he said "we struggled" at the end when referring to Newcastle's last couple of seasons. 164235 I know it's customary to fawn over our new signings and every word they say, but he seems a genuinely decent bloke who's actually got a bit of something about him - the interview seemed like a proper conversation rather than some idiot spouting cliches.
23. I assumed it was for the way they fucked over Spurs and let us in - it smacks of the old "Jack Walker wouldn't sell Shearer to Man U" myth which could well be true. 164227 If what Shepherd said on that Shearer BBC documentary is anything to go by then that's definitely true. "Mr. Walker made it very clear that there was one price for us and another for Manchester United."
