Was watching a heads up game on full tilt earlier - $200/$400 limit heads up. Mike Matusow vs. someone unknown. He was fairly cleaning them out. The money that was changing hands is fucking mind boggling. I would even begrudge losing my blinds.

Perhaps he thought that if he blocked Roeder from bidding for Huth that he would finally cave in on deadline day and agree to go for Freddy's preferred choice of Woodgate (the bigger story, the prodigal son returns, Shepherd gets to talk about his great relationship with Real Madrid etc. etc.). It would also possibly explain Roeder's silence following deadline day - better to fume silently than say something you might regret. I'm making leaps here, but I don't think they're beyond the realms of probability.
