Can we talk about Israel or terrorists now please?

Something which I'm reliably informed is called a credenza. A desk covered in paper to give the illusion that I am busy. That's it really.

I don't know much about the Fiorentina story, but did they not just go bankrupt or something? Matt knows the craic re Fiorentina so if he's on later he'll fill us in. Per Wikipedia: 2001 heralded major changes for Fiorentina, as the terrible state of the club's finances was revealed; they were unable to pay wages and had debts of around USD 50 million. The club owner, Vittorio Cecchi Gori, was able to raise some more money, but even this soon proved to be insufficient resources to sustain the club. Then, Fiorentina were relegated at the end of the 2001-2002 season and went into judicially controlled administration in June 2002. This form of bankruptcy (sports companies cannot exactly fail in this way in Italy, but they can suffer a similar procedure) meant that the club was refused a place in Serie B for the 2002-2003 season, and as a result, effectively ceased to exist.

I prefer to enjoy my meal, not endure it.

I define absolute truth as everything that passes your lips, Rob. Is that not right?

Aye, the G-14 could just branch off and play each other Not really cos most of the G-14 aren't in the position that Chelsea are in. Do you think Man United would rather join a superleague that allowed Chelsea to spend £150m every summer, and walk this superleague every year, or allow UEFA to put a stop to Chelsea's ridiculous spending?
-
Don't think so. All it's asking is that clubs spend within their means and don't receive huge cash injections for players whilst making massive losses a la Chelsea. The small clubs already live within their means - even if you're taking on debt to finance transfers, as long as the debt is manageable and you can find someone to loan you it, then you could still go ahead with it. I don't think it would affect smaller clubs at all.

Hot chinese curry Ahhh, are you one of those hot curry makes you a man blokes, bobby? I once worked away with this lad and we had a curry one night. The fat twat sat opposite me dripping sweat into his dinner and looking thoroughly uncomfortable working his way through a phal, stopping only to dab at the sweat on his face and call me a puff for eating my chicken tikka massala. The fat knobhead!

By the way, I had no idea they spend £19.8m on Carvalho. Jesus Christ!

Spotted this on NO from the Evening Standard. Sounds like a viable means of putting an end to their ridiculous spending and making it a slightly more level playing field - if things continue as they are the Premiership is going to get very boring, very quickly (even more so than at present). Anyway, what do we reckon?

No mention at the start that the joke was set in a mental institution. Poorly set-up.

Renton is getting a bit hot under the collar about this one. Could do with some cold pizza to cool him down a bit.
-
Bollocks tbh. Probably tbh. I often wonder what that stringy meat is. Ha ha I like Chinese food but the main thing I was referring too was the ridiculous cold pizza comment. Do you go into an Italian restaurant and order cold pizza, or do you wait an hour before eating it? Do you tip the delivery driver if the pizza comes late and cold? How's it ridiculous? You prefer it hot, some people prefer it cold. I'm sure Jamie Oliver said he does. You might think he's a bellend but I would imagine he knows a thing or too about food. It's ridiculous because that's not the way it's supposed to be eaten, and for the reasons I've mentioned. I'm not saying it's not OK to eat it cold the morning after, but clearly this is second best. First the worst, second the best, third the hairy princess!

True. But hit him early on just in case. And let him know there's more to come if he gloats. Then if we win you can apologise.
-
Makes sense. Kristians on the Fish Quay at North Shields use animal fat btw, so if you've eaten from there, you're basically a lamb slaughterer.
-
Nowt wrong with cold pizza. I prefer it if it's just a veggie pizza though - bit wary with cold meat, and I wouldn't go near something like cold pepperoni cos it'll basically just be congealed grease that you're eating.
-
Alex, how do you know with places like that that you're getting proper veggie food, or do you just have to trust them? My sister always asks at fish and chip shops what fat they use to cook with and will only eat their stuff if they use vegetable oil. It's canny embarrassing when you've got the poor lass behind the counter who's rushed off her feet and neither knows nor cares what oil they use. You can just see her thinking "What's the right answer to this question?".
-
Put in a reducer early doors tbh.

Feckless bog-frog dickhead is a good insult for Obagol. It takes account of both his Irish roots and the fact that he lives in France.
-
What was up with the bloke's button btw? How well hidden can a hidden camera be when it glows red? Might as well have given him a spinning bow tie with a camera in the centre tbh.
-
You can get 4/1 for Halsey to show a red tonight. Given that Parker was lucky not to be sent off at the weekend, Emre will lose his rag when we get overrun in midfield, and Halsey is a crap ref, I reckon it's a canny bet. Not to mention Bellamy playing against us, and Sissoko being a bit of a dirty twat.

Oliver predicting that Bond will quit in the Chron. Tommy Craig will be pissing himself.

Yeah, I think we were alleged to have completed the paperwork incorrectly. I think we've conceded it too.

This agent was whoring this 15 year old Boro lad around a few clubs. He went to Liverpool and Chelsea and the meetings there were caught on camera. Prior to setting these meetings up, he said to the undercover bloke "I've already had Newcastle around at his parent's house meeting with him....just so it's not out in the open." So that's the sum total of the evidence against us. I feel sorry for this 15 year old kid like. How are you supposed to know the right thing to do when the bloke that's supposed to be your advisor is doing stuff like this? Having said that, his parents should probably have realised that this wasn't above board. Thing is, we don't know what evidence they have which they may have witheld for legal reasons. Also, even if they have nothing against us, that doesn't mean that NUFC does not use corrupt agents. How else can you explain the McKay deals which have been frankly ludicrous. I think you'd be hard pushed to find a football agent that isn't corrupt. If not in the bung sense, then certainly in the questionable advice they offer their clients. I'm sure we deal with plenty that aren't completely above board. What's Kenneth Shepherd's role at NUFC anyway? Is it him or Charles that worked with Pro-Active?
