  1. Who was it who claimed Shepherd called him a hom in the meeting with him?
  2. I'd love to think that was for a laugh, following Renton's comments about the random shit you post. I fear that would be giving you far too much credit though Again, I would not be surprised if people took it literally. The point being, when do we start contracting players ready for the first day of the summer window? Now? In 2 months? In May? Seriously, how far forward does it have to be to be good 'planning' and getting one over on every other manager who seem to be more than able to start and complete deals inside the window. I'll accept having the players in time for the start of pre season training instead of after the season starts for a change. Exactly. That's what pissed me off about Roeder big style last summer. When he took the job one of the first things he was saying was that he couldn't even afford a holiday because he has to assemble the squad for next season. The next thing was that he was off to Turkey for a couple of weeks. Then at some time in July he said that he has to sit together with Fat Fred and draw up a list of players they should go after. The "planning" and concluding of deals just always depends on the circumstances. At the moment Newcastle now too well what type of players they need (I hope they do). So they can look at those players and sound them out or unsettle them. A lot is done behind the scenes. And when it's clear that the opportunity of getting one of your targets arises you have to react. Then it doesn't matter if it is January, April or June. But it shouldn't be July and only under the worst circumstances August 31st. so you'd be happy if Arsene Wenger started having cosy little chats with N'Zogbia in a few months time? Seriously Vic, are you doing this deliberately?
  3. Spot on! They get to meet whever they choose as MOM, and present him with something. So, generally, it's whoever they fancy meeting. Hasn't Milner won it a few times in a row recently? They must be gluttons for punishment. "THE BELLTH ETHMERELDA!"
  4. My favourite is the "I'm not going to go out and sign bad players because that's not the right thing to do." You cannot buy insight like that. This man Roeder knows his shit.
  5. The "we will not be making any signings until after the World Cup" from last summer was an absolute ring-stinging classic. 6 weeks of a 12 week transfer window down the pan.
  6. people WANT us to be in West Ham's position. The league table doesn't matter as long as you spend each and every window signing half the planet, only to get rid of them at the next, along with your manager This is what I meant in the other thread when I mentioned coming up with silly arguments that make you look stupid, for the sole purpose of being Little Miss Contrary. You're clearly not a stupid bloke so why do you insist on portraying yourself as one? Am I missing something? He's at the bestest university in the known universe man. Or something. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt to see if I could get him to stop being such a dick. you disagree that West Ham's transfer activity is being held up as how we should be doing things? of course the post is a bit over the top, but I would expect most people not to take everything as read, and be able to extract the basic point. However, pedantry seems to be the order of the day for the gemmilator How do you have the brass neck to accuse others of pedantry? You come across of argumentative, yet also seem to be ignorant on the topics you are arguing about. Add that to the fact that you often post random shite in threads you clearly have little interest in, and your incessant need to abuse people who disagree with you..... Well, maybe you should just take a hint and stick to N-O. such as? give an example or shut the fuck up rentboy More abuse. On General Chat, you post inane shite on loads of threads, frequently "laughing" at your own jokes. I'm not really arsed if you stay or go, but I do find it strange that someone would hang around when they are clearly not wanted. Still as has been said, every board has its trolls and wums, just be careful not to give the admin enough rope to ban you with. I'm only going to repeat it once give me an example or shut your fucking mouth I may have a new Vic favourite tantrum moment.
  7. My favourite Vic tantrum moment was when he told Mark that he wasn't "about to let shit like that slide". Scary.
  8. All of the pictures on Getty make him look fucking simple.
  9. How do you make that out? Because we are 4 points ahead of them having won one game against them (and believe me, we were very lucky)? Was inheriting the Newcastle job and Villa job equivalent? Come back in a years time and see if that statement is remotely correct. Notice I didn't even have to mention their track records btw. Roeder got a lot more points straight away. He got us into Europe after we were looking at a relegation fight. If that had been Hitzfeld we'd have all been kissing his arse tbh. Roeder lost his main striker as well as some key squad members and yet we are still above Villa and will be at the end of the season. Speak for yourself mate. We didn't win the war to kiss some German's arse!
  10. Look, Jon Cashew was mine ok. And it pwns all. So just quit while you're behind.

    Bit of gen

Minute's silence at the weekend. Nailed on.
  12. .....to the Contrary Cave!
  13. There's been an incident just like that in this transfer window. Peterborough were trying to buy a bloke from Dagenham & Redbridge and havd a pre-contract agreement (most likely with some form of down payment made). Then Peterborough sacked their manager and the player had a change of heart and decided he wanted to stay at D&R (was also being linked with a move to a bigger club in the summer). Peterborough chairman was threatening to take it to the courts and as a result, the player did make the move.... egg fucking sactly a point lost on all these fuckers imagine if we had agreed to sell harper or huntington or butt 2 months ago. I'm not saying you shouldn't always have targets in mind, which of course we do, but to go to the lengths of contracting players before you can move them is pointless. The simple fact that only Larson has been dealt with this way illustrates the point. You fucking thick shit. This doesn't support your argument. It's just an example of a bizarre cycle of events. You are a fucking moron Vic, and you're embarrassing yourself with this contrary stance. yet you fail to accept that Larson is a one off event, and that is not how 99% of transfer business is done. A one-off event? Now I know you didn't miss alex's post Vic, because you've already replied to it and tried to move the goalposts again. I hope you don't come across this stupid at uni, Vic. Lego might be as good as it gets for you. not one premiership club in that list. Most of it's fucking scottish clubs FFS. How is that even relevant? You asked for another player that signed during this transfer window for which negotiations were made prior to the window opening. Agreed? I would say a list of players that signed during this transfer window for which negotiations were made prior to the window opening was the very definition of relevant. Is it sinking in?
  14. See that is where you are wrong. The transfer window only restricts when you can actually transfer a player from one club to the next, it doesn't restrict you from negotiations or transfer fees or player contract details! again, name me a player other than Larson where this happened this january???? All these were conducted on 1 January 2007 alone: Ade Akinbiyi [sheff Utd - Burnley] £750,000 Moses Ashikodi [Rangers - Watford] Nominal fee Stephen Black [Kansas City - Montrose] Loan George Boyd [stevenage - Peterborough] £260,000* * Pending - transfer due to be completed 8 January David Forde [Derry City - Cardiff City] Undisclosed Stephen Fraser [Montrose - St Andrews Utd] Loan Michael Fulton [Morton - Largs Thistle] Loan Alan Gilbridge [Morton - Largs Thistle] Loan Morgaro Gomis [Cowdenbeath - Dundee Utd] Nominal fee Stefan Gonet [Morton - Clydebank] Loan Dean Holden [Peterborough - Falkirk] Undisclosed Paul Keegan [st Patrick's Athletic - Motherwell] Undisclosed Michael Kightly [Grays - Wolves] Nominal fee Scott Marshall [unattached - Cowdenbeath] David MacLeod [Morton - Largs Thistle] Loan Neil McCallum [st Johnstone - Alloa] Loan Mark McChrystal [Derry City - Partick] Undisclosed Paul McGowan [Celtic - Morton] Loan Michael McIndoe [barnsley - Wolves] £250,000 Derek McInnes [Millwall - St Johnstone] Undisclosed Trevor Molloy [st Patrick's Athletic - Motherwell] Undisclosed Kevin Moon [st Johnstone - Forfar] Loan Michael Mullen [Queen of the South - Stranraer] Loan Danny Murphy [Cork - Motherwell] Undisclosed Neil Stephen [Peterhead - Montrose] Undisclosed sorry, which one of those players should we have contracted by mid November? He's changing his question again, after he's asked it and been given an answer. Fucking priceless. A follows B follows C, that's how discussionsgo gems. Or do you need the forum special bus to help you along? stop being such a tart and use your words. come on now. Don't be afraid You don't even see it do you? How stupid you look right now.
  15. Captain Contrary.......to the rescue!
