  1. She'd been lighting her farts and had an accident tbh. The lightning thing probably seemed like a good cover story when she got to Casualty.
  2. I'm guessing Mint and Orange. If You Liiiiike a lot of chocolate on your biscuit.... That song always sounded slightly euphemistic to me. Remember TRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIO! TRiiIIIIiiIO! I want a trio and I want one now!
  3. Renton, opposition teams would regularly double up on Ginola and he would skin the pair of them. I was gutted when Dalglish sold him, and bought Ketsbaia to replace him iirc. At least that's what Alan Oliver said that's what we were signing him for.
  4. I used to work at Poundstretcher in the Galleries. It wasn't a bad job actually but my mam was a bit of a snob and wouldn't even nip in to see me when she was doing her shopping. My dad used to infuriate her by coming in and buying cheapy t-shirts which he'd then take home and parade in front of her. "Look what our Catherine just sold us. 3 for £2 - Bargain!!" that's funny!! my girlfriend used to work at poundland... didn't stop me from visiting her That's like a status symbol in Liverpool man.
  5. To be fair Rob, the lad bought a house for his mother because she couldn't afford it at the time. Now she can afford it and he wants to sell it on to her at a discount, making no profit on the sale himself, but because of a boom in the housing market the revenue want to hit him with a shitload of CGT for the privilege. I can see how if I was in that position it would seem a bit unfair. Rules are rules and that's the way it goes, but it doesn't make you any happier to have to write the cheque.
  6. It's not though, because Gillespie wasn't better than Solano.
  7. i worked for them when they were known as Andersen Consulting. Reet bunch of cowboys. What was wrong with them? I had them down on the list of organisations that would potentially have the pleasure of employing me. Have no idea what they're like to work for, but consultancy is a license to print money. Worked with a lad at my old company that had worked for KPMG and specialised in consultancy relating to SAP (the heyooge accountancy application). Anyway he'd left and gone freelance. He lives in Tenerife and just does various projects whenever he gets the phonecall and charges an absolute packet for his services. I imagine you could do similar with 6 or 7 years at Accenture on your CV.
  8. I don't think he figured. It did help Ginola's cause that he went onto play for a London club. But it also helped his cause that he went on to play WELL for that London club, winning the PFA Player of the Year award in the process. He was just a better player than Robert.
  9. Remember Dickeeeeens Home Improoovement Hypermaaaarket! Duh derrrr duh!

That's a bit kinda fricken rude. So is bringing up shows from the WB network. The Gilmore Girls is enough to make anyone want to vomit. Is that on WB?
  11. Aye, that's the one. Actually though, come to think of it, it was the one at Gosforth she worked at. Just ignore me.
  12. DK is absolutley GAGGING for a stat-attack!
  13. That looks to me like Ryder has just slipped that in to pad out what Bernard had to say. Unfortunately he's got his facts wrong. What a dick! Anyone can do it. Watch. "I did have a full pre-season with Rangers, but then Paul Le Guen - a man that once penetrated me with a baguette - came in, so it was very difficult to stay there.
  14. My sister used to work in Asda. Was it the one at Four Lane Ends. You might have been [american accent]co-workers[/american accent].
  15. I was able to get 6 of Prison Break on one burn.. It thinks it's good!
  16. No bother. There might be some arrangement he can come to re charging rent, but obviously that would be a long term thing and would be taxable income. You're best off talking to someone who deals in personal tax issues though cos I've not dealt with anything like this since my exams 6 or so years ago.
  17. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/cgtfs1.htm#b13 Have a look there. The exemption for 2006/7 is £8,800 so basically take the market value of the house, less what he paid for it, take off your £8,800 and he's liable for tax on the rest.
  18. HF, if it's not his main residence he'll be liable to pay CGT, and they won't calculate it based on the price he sells it to your mam at. It'll be calculated based on the market value of the property, which by the sounds of it could be a canny bit compared to purchase price.
  19. Cheers I see your point I suppose. How does it work if she pays full whack and then he just transfers the difference back to her? Would that gift be deemed taxable? I think it only becomes taxable in the event of his death if he dies within the next 7 years. If he makes it through the next 7 years without biting it then there are no tax implications. Is this his main residence he's selling btw? Or is it a second property?
  20. I haven't told them yet. Bit scared of the woman that's arranging it all tbh. I'll maybe send her an email later.
  21. Me too. Tall, skinny and gobby so the teacher used to make me be a prop with a big fuckoff grin on his face cos he knew how much I hated it.
  22. I did work experience at Northern Rock. Pretty much involved packing envelopes with those shit loan offers you get through the post for a fortnight. I made it out to be a huge thing on my CV though and the lass at PwC was lapping it up in my interview.
  23. Actually, I think what I'm talking about related to inheritance tax and capital gains. So I'm not sure why your brother has to sign something in this instance. Although, it's probably just because he's selling an asset at a discount which would have to preclude him from declaring bankruptcy in the near future. Imagine if you were in financial difficulties and wanted to get shot of any assets prior to declaring, so that they weren't seized by creditors. Selling a house off cheap to a relative would be a good way of doing this and leaving yourself with less assets to pay off your creditors, whilst keeping the house in the family (your mam could sell it back to him once the dust has settled). Makes sense really.
