  1. Aye. We're in this unique position, I don't think it's ever happened before, where we've got all the money we need and an external force has got the purse strings clamped shut. The disconnect between what we need to spend to get to where we want to be, and what we're being allowed to spend, is HUGE. I think that first season dropping out of the PSR calc will allow us to have a window or two on a par with those first couple of windows, which would give us a massive boost. I think it would be criminal to not give Howe the opportunity to benefit from. That
  2. The squad and our inability to improve it quickly enough is a HUGE part of the problem here. That doesn't go away if you change the manager. We can't just appoint a new bloke and go "OK, now YOU get us into the CL with Murphy and Almiron as your two main gamechangers on the bench."
  3. I personally would give him the next two windows and next season to sort it. The summer window was a fucking joke and we had the problems that we're seeing this season, last season, so we really needed to strengthen and didn't. It should be no surprise to anyone that things haven't improved when the tools at hand haven't been improved and are a year older. There are still Ashley players on the bench. And as much as Howe got a tune out of them for a short period when we were riding the crest of a wave, those players wouldn't get a regular game in most of the rest of the division, never mind the top 4 to 6. They're fucking shit. Achieving CL so early with the squad he did it with has completely distorted expectations. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be doing better than we are now, but we REALLY can't be sitting back and expecting CL with this squad. It cannot compete with Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Villa, Arsenal over 38 games. We're basically hoping for another minor miracle season, except now we're no longer hoping, we're expecting and demanding. If we get rid of Howe, we're gonna end up on a managerial merry go round. That's one of the main reasons I don't want him to go. He's fully committed here, he's a very good coach, and there's been a load of flux at the club. He needs more time and the actual investment to deliver on the expectations (entitlement?) that the fans now have. As for LTA, let this be a lesson to you: if you turn up and act the wind up merchant 95% of the time, you might just get dismissed on the occasion when you actually think you've got something to say.
  4. The worst thing about all of it is you get to treat us to another of your wonderful match threads.
  5. Now you can use the towels for what they were intended for. To mop up the blood.
  6. I mean that bench is far from great.
  7. Aye. This isn't a CL squad. We're already asking for miracles for him to finish top 4 with it.
  8. they do say absence makes the heart grow fonder. We need to buy. Going back to Miggy is categorically not the answer.
  9. I really don't want Howe to go cos I want him to turn it around, but it's not working for him anymore. We look clueless.
  10. I think Willock is a much better player for us against bigger teams who leave space to run into. You can see it in this second half that he's getting into it a little bit more as the spaces open up, although he's still not playing well. Against teams that are content to just sit in, he really struggles to get into the game.
  11. Looks like they're gonna kick fuck out of Isak and the ref's gonna let them.
