It's absolute bollocks to place loyalty gates in the way of a celebration event for the whole city. Have you given us any money this season? Well then YOU can see the cup. Just drive a bus around waving the cup about, and any and every one who wants to be there will be there. They'll not change tack before the event though, this'll be what we get. I mean I don't imagine it's easy to shut down an entire city at short notice for an open top parade, but this is why you make plans in advance.

I was gonna have a wander down on the day, but I see that won't be possible. Oh well.

They mention something about the Man City 115 charges thing coming to a head during this international break. It'll just be guesswork, but I'd be pleased to see that sorted if they're right. It can't be far off and an international window would be a good time to do it.

I think it was because of the mix of Tue/Wed/Thu games, and the fact they all play on different weeks in Europe at that time, it would have been impossible for games between the teams to happen.

right bear with me. This is an Arsenal podcast, but these lads are proper Arsenal fans. Talking about how ridiculous it is that a good portion of their fan base think "it's only the league Cup", and those same fans think they have a divine right to come and take players like Isak off us when we've achieved more than their manager in a shorter period of time, and with less money spent. Taking the piss out of Arsenal and their constant excuses about what "phase" of the build they're in, whilst Arne Slot wins a trophy in his first year and we've won one coming from basically nowhere. It's background listening but I'm quite enjoying it. So there! Fuck you! It's bottom of the barrel time, but these lads are doing better than some of the shit I've seen from our own fanfluencers this week!

Listened to the rest is Politics US this morning, and heard Scaramucci saying that "Elon isn't a bad dude, he's just lost his way a little", in between announcing that he's an investor in X and SpaceX. This is a couple of episodes after announcing that he sent a Christmas gift to Trump with a note thanking him for his crypto gains. I can't help but feel that this is just a grift and a bit of a vanity thing for Scaramucci cos he likes the sound of his own voice. He's insulated by his wealth, and I'm not suggesting he's enjoying watching what's happening in America, but his interest is mainly tied to what it does to his portfolio.

I hadn't listened to them in ages, but I listened to the one they did on the day of the final. They were all a bit drunk and it was pretty rough. I get why they put it up, but listening to a bunch of mates that you don't know, drunk, is never gonna be great. I quite like Norman on there, he speaks well and makes sense most of the time. I saw they've put another one up today, but I won't be going back in.

I did that on Monday. I'm trying to wean myself off this new drug.

Thoroughly enjoyable. It's sort of settling in now that we've won something. If you'd told me after the takeover that it would only be 3 years til we won something, I probably wouldn't have believed you. Especially considering where we were when the takeover happened. What a fucking brilliant appointment Howe was. Genuinely feels like good things could start to happen for us now. We'll improve the squad in the summer, and we already know we can go to Wembley and, with the right game plan, take on anyone. And that's before we've made further investments to the squad.

They're gonna get their wish of being a horribly insular country cos no fucker is gonna want to go. I doubt I'll go again. I'd rather go to Canada if I was set on North America.

Might just do ITV's highlights show instead of the full 90.

Did anyone see Roger Black on the news this morning? Turns out he got diagnosed with heart valve disease at age 11, and still managed to have a very successful career as an elite athlete. Reckons his dad, a doctor, worried about him every day of his life post diagnosis. If it goes wrong, your heart basically explodes apparently. 😬 Had open heart surgery last year, as it has advanced, but fucking hell he still looks young as fuck.

Absolutely delighted to see that Sebastian Coe has failed in his attempt to become IOC President, the Tory whopper.
