Who hopes Palace get relegated and Guehi leaves on a free?
Gemmill replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I wouldn't necessarily have argued this in the past btw, but I'm bored of us haggling endlessly over targets. I'm sure Howe is too. -

A simple I WON'T FUCKING BOTHER NEXT TIME will suffice next time. -

I don't really give a fuck what anyone's valuation is other than the selling club's. If he's our target, and that's how much it will take to get him, then I want us to pay that amount cos it isn't my money. -

They'll have a book value at the point that the extension is negotiated. That book value should be amortised across the remaining (extended) contract length. That's how I assume it will work. So, buy a player for £100m on a 5 year deal, that's a £20m amortisation charge per year. If at the end of 2 years, you extend their contract by 2 years, you have: Book value: £60m (£100m minus 2 x £20m annual amortisation charge) Newly extended contract length: 5 years (original 3 plus 2 year extension) New annual amortisation charge: £12m per year for the next 5 years. -

If they want £65m, we should offer them the £65m or 60+5 or whatever, and be done with it. They know we've got the cash, and we know how much they want. Parrish is a self-publicising wanker who will absolutely love the TV and radio exposure he can milk out of this. There's two ways to shut him up - give him what they want, or announce that the deal is off, but the latter leaves us missing out on our target for £5m. -

Honestly think the decision to give him his own thread has impacted negotiations. I think Parrish has found out and thinks that we think he's a cockney mug who'll just do what we like. -
Watched the new A Quiet Place: Day One the other night. A decidedly average 6.0.

They're getting BOSTED.

One of the American papers has likened his performance to that of a "drunk Daffy Duck"

Aye Civil War was decent enough. Not exactly feelgood viewing mind.

After the pre-season stuff, if he comes back, he's coming back in full offensive Fu Manchu get-up, on the hunt for freebies. "Excuse me sir. Where I find Prrratnum Crub?!"

Kev "Clickbait" Lawson. A sad decline.

A remake of an absolute parpfest though. It doesn't count as a remake if the original was shit.

I'm not listening to Marco Bento.

The Guardian ran an article on him recently cos his channel has got so huge that he's now interviewing musical greats on there. I think Joni Mitchell saw him break down one of her songs and got in touch with him about it.

You should follow my main man Rick Beato on YouTube. It's actually a really good channel - he's a former musician/producer who does great breakdowns of famous songs using the original stems to look at different parts of songs, etc. He produces very good guitar/general music instruction stuff. And every once in a while he allows himself to be horrified by the Spotify Top 10 and records it.

Like a Hulk transformation, but visibly turning into an old man in real time instead.

The best interview. Trump has apparently developed a lisp. @Christmas Tree First gay presidential nominee. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-elon-musk-interview-x-stream-lisp-b2595384.html

Here begins the nomination process for threadstarter for match week 2.

That's "average" on CT's scale. 2.9 if you want to drop it into "slightly bad".

He's stopped dyeing his hair and putting the orange makeup on. Which is weird as fuck.

Yeah, there's a Republicans for Harris movement. Mayors and the like publicly endorsing her.

We watched it with a view to going to see the latest one at an IMAX. But when you turn to the missus with 25 minutes to go and say "This is fucking shit isn't it?", and she agrees, there's no need to be watching the sequel.
-
Mad Max Fury Road was absolute horseshit. I genuinely turned it off with about 25 minutes to go cos I was so fucking bored, it was noisy as fuck, and I didn't give a shit how it ended.

He needs the votes of more than the MAGA-loons to win the election though. His base is not the problem, it's the independents and the swing voters, and the moderate Republicans he needs to worry about, and a lot of them look like they prefer Harris and Walz to Trump and Vance. That and the "double haters" who didn't like Biden or Trump, and now have someone else they can vote for. These people seem to like Harris/Walz, so you don't win them back by calling Harris and Walz names or claiming her crowd sizes are fake. You'd have to build an argument about their policies and convince people that you're the better candidate, but Trump can't do that. It's looking increasingly like a lot of people are just bored with Trump's antics now. It even looks a bit like he's bored of it.
