  1. Aye, there's a big difference between Man Utd playing long balls compared to Fat Sam's Bolton IMO. Skill and precision over hit and hope. Also, Man Utd at that time had the ability to play along the deck and move the ball quickly. Fat Sam used to have his goalie go for goal, and then sit in the stands with a fucking head set on to try and make out that he was some kind of avant garde genius. the only thing he was ahead of the curve on was annoying, fat dick heads with bluetooth head gear.
  2. There is no such thing as a proportionate response, unfortunately. The closest I can think of would be bringing the gunmen and militants to justice (by legal means or lethal) and freeing any hostages. Sadly, it'll be more likely a case of retaliatory bombing of civilian areas in Palestine which will serve nothing more than to stoke the fires further. It's a vicious cycle and one I can't see ending any time soon.
  3. The game Rice gave up a run into the box half way through because they were losing 4-1. It was the only time he'd been in our half all game as well. The game before that he got an assist from a corner, and that was about it.
  4. I feel great tbf. I've come to accept and appreciate my usually horrendously bad takes. Surely though, if a more attacking/creative midfielder can be come an integral part of Moysey ball then it goes against your argument in favour of Rice - because why couldn't Rice adapt to become more box to box and contribute more if Paqueta can? Rice had way longer to adapt to Moyes too. IMO Rice is limited. He's excellent at defending from midfield, he's not as great at anything else.
  5. What is it they say about cockroaches again?
  6. Aye, de-ageing is not something I can get onboard with. The Irishman was awful (to me) because of it. It stopped me getting into it fully, watching an 80 year old De Niro de-aged to look like a 30 year old, kicking the fuck out of someone but moving like an 80 year old whilst doing it. It was comically bad - just get a young actor to play the younger version of De Niro for fuck sake. Give some young up and comers an opportunity to impress instead.
  7. I'd rather see his parachute fail tbh.
  8. Did a lot of these people just not bother to play San Andreas?
  9. Nah, he's a Poundland (Matty) Longstaff man. Truth is, he's a good player - I've seen nothing of him to suggest he's a £100m player though - but get why Arsenal wanted him, as his strengths were something lacking in their midfield and could be the difference between 2nd and 1st for them in the league this season. I don't think it's as simplistic as West Ham were shite so made him look less effective, I just think he's a defensive midfielder who's excellent at defending and not that great at the other stuff a modern centre mid has to be great at. Swap him for Bellingham last season and their attack would have looked better IMO.
  10. Aye, it's lose/lose for the normal people on both sides really. Hamas do something horrific, and Israel will respond with something equally horrific which only escalates things further. It's the people who just want to live their lives peacefully and quietly who end up getting hurt by it all. Hope your family stays safe during all of this.
  11. I don't remember this verse from Blaydon Races tbh. I like it.
  12. They fucking copy everything we do them cunts. Shipyards, striped shirts, equestrian bare knuckle boxing, what's next? They'll be bought out by the Iranian Investment Fund and deny sports washing exists.
  13. Aye, it's a shame Scamacca didn't work out for them, he looked like he was going to be a world beater at one point, but it never clicked for him in the Prem. Wouldn't surprise me if they came in with a cheeky bid for Wilson tbh. I'd tell them to fuck off like.
  14. The fact he's prioritising drinking over picking his bairn up suggests he has a problem (or that a problem is around the corner). Nowt wrong with enjoying a can or two in front of the telly once the bairns are asleep, but getting into a state where you can't function if the kids wake up mid-night is dodgy (especially with a 1 year old, both my kids were liable for a mid-evening shite/meltdown at that age). The thing I've learned when it comes to addiction is that the addict needs to realise there is a problem AND want to fix it before you can do anything, really. All you can do is gently lead him to that realisation and hope he sees it. That said, if he's able to keep his shit together during the week without a drink, then maybe he's just a young kid who hasn't quite grasped the concept of growing up once you have little kids in the house, in which case he just needs a slap.
  15. Fucking hell does the Vodka in Oz have that drug from limitless in it? A couple of trebles and I'd be writing gibberish with my face an inch from my phone to try and make out the letters.
  16. They are far more mobile in midfield now. Never got the Rice hype, any time I have seen him play he seemed to put the breaks on any attacking move WH had. Bowen would be flying up the wing and Rice would stop, pass it back to defence or side ways and cause the attack to break down. Had he gone to Man City he'd have been converted into a ball playing centre back under Pep, and probably been mint at it. It will work out for him at Arsenal because he has Odegaard to give it short to, and his only real role is to protect the defence.
  17. Fucking Pope's punching puts the fear in me...on a footy pitch...in a straightener he'd probably crack the lamp post I was standing next to..very, very gently.
  18. If the new rules were being followed the Miggy, Bruno and Paqueta would all have been sent off. We aren't playing well but there is zero consistency with the refereeing.
  19. Texan headline: Local man shoots and kills murderer. Statue to be built in his honour. Mental country.
