Flair players that play by no ones rules are a thing of the past really. Look at Pep teams - it's fine to be skillful and graceful on the ball but if you don't do what he says, when he says it then you're out and it doesn't matter how good you are. Grealish took ages to get a run of games because he was that exact kind of way coming in - and he cost them £100m! In fairness to Maxi I do think he was willing to run through walls, and he did show signs of adapting but his body would never allow it. Plus I genuinely think (step overs and skills aside) that both Gordon and Barnes are better players on the left.
