I think all this goes to show is that some people like to criticise for the sake of it. It's actually quite a British trait that the minute somebody tries to do something a bit different, a legion of petty minded individuals come out of the woodwork and try to fillibuster it to death because some aspect of it doesn't chime with their mindset. imo you will never ever do something that 100% of all supporters agree with. Just get on with it is what I say and see where it ends. If I don't take part, or put my money and my vote in, I can hardly complain about the direction this goes in, can I?

I wondered about that. The NUFC-Finances website doesn't explain it. I know there's £6m+ paid to Allardyce and a certain amount of amortisation, but I don't know what the rest consisted of or if it applies to the following seasons, for example, was it from installments on Luque and that, which Ashley cut out of all his deals. did you allow for corporation tax and paye etc etc, business rates... Eh? Corporation tax doesn't come out of pre-tax numbers because it's er, pre-tax. PAYE is part of the overall salary bill i.e. the gross cost of wages, PAYE is just a mechanism to deduct employees tax from gross salary on their behalf. Business rates, rents etc should part of normal operating costs so the missing expenditure. Not the best with numbers but I was talking about happy face tooting up all the incomings without a deductions amount for corp tax etc. He was sort of saying sales + other income - wages = profit...... Innit Happy Face tooting up? Is that an allegation of drug abuse? I assumed HF was looking at net profit before tax. In a typical company that includes all outgoings like wages, overheads, admin expenses, contractors, purchases of stock etc but it always excludes the company's tax bill. Which in all likelihood is zero anyway because fooball clubs tend to make losses from year to year. For a football company I expect NPBT also includes transfer costs and one off exceptional costs like paying up a manager's contract. I think they were speculating on the one off costs but I can't be bothered to go back and read the posts.

Early on next year. Of course, when we first formed as NUSC we said the Interim Committee would be in place until June 2009. Since then of course we moved down the route of converting to a trust (which was approved by the vast majority of members). In doing so, of course we've been talking to and taking advice from Supporters Direct. They said that with us changing to Trust status over the summer, the June elections would have to be put back. Once the Trust was in place, they then said there would be a bedding in period (which is where we are at right now) lasting a few months. The timeline that they drew up takes us into the new year, around January/February, before elections would be held. Supporters Direct will assist us in this process to ensure that they meet all of their criteria and rules. What I would say is that although the conversion to the Trust has put the elections back, it also guarantees them. Under the rules drawn up by Supporters Direct, Trusts MUST hold elections. It would be nice if a someone from NUSC / NUST would advise how many of the 2000+ members voted to change to a trust. I have asked on several occasions but to date have not had a reply. Unsure how a seperate body can force NUSC to change its election policy. Could election plans not have been put in place whilst all this was going on? I have a fear that NUSC has gone down a path that unfortunately will have alienated a lot of its members however this will not become apparent until they are either asked to vote or to re-new their membership. You worry too much

Can't wait to see this new mature Joey Barton

Sir Alex Ferguson punishment needs to be severe, says referees union

I reckon Ian Wright would make a magnificent ref. He'd probably end up putting the ball in the net -

imo the answer is to have a pool of career refs who are properly trained and whose fitness and judgement is regularly assessed. Plus tech support as necessary i.e goal line cameras and so on. The first thing they should do is go after retiring professionals who know all the tricks and can assess difficult situations based on playing the game. They'd have a good ten years in them I reckon. The top refs should get a salary similar to players imo, paid for by the PL, sufficient to be looked on as a career in its own right and to deter match fixing. It seems mad to have a mulit-million pound sport, where fortunes are won and lost on the back of ref's decisions, but not properly invest in the refs themselves. Plus recruiting former players might keep people like Andy Townsend out of the commentary box. -
perma tanned cock brown wants to do us a favour
Kitman replied to charvski's topic in Newcastle Forum
So he's a fantasist who lies to the press and fans to divert attention from the first team? He should expect a job offer from Fat Mike, he'd fit right in here. -
Don't you think the 'real' point of the favour to get someone else to pay the wages of an injured player that they'd just moved on?? I do. And if that is the case, doesn't it break FIFA rules (agents not being able to be involved in consecutive transfers?). One thing's for sure, the whole thing stinks.

You get the impression that the club is not on the market?
-
Group: Shareholder I like it here. It's picked up from a couple of years ago when sometimes tumbleweed blew threw the threads. I used to be a regular on N-O but it got on my tits, especially with the pathetic anti-Keegan line of some people on there. Posters like Stevie and Leazes Mag are what make the place interesting and it's N-O's loss as far as I'm concerned. Disappointed to see Gemmill and Renton don't post regularly anymore, I just assumed they were on the 'secret forum' with the rest of the clique

You get the impression the whole process is so tortuous nobody will buy the club. Why doesn't Ashley just take it off the market?
-
There's risk associated with appointing Shearer obviously. However there's also great possibility. If he has the rest of the season to settle in, learn the ropes and find his way of doing things etc, and we got promoted, we might emerge as a stronger club for it. CH is doing well atm but I feel Shearer may have more potential long term and would be a greater attraction for signings. In reality I believe we are stuck with Ashley and Hughton so it's somewhat academic. Rather have Moat and Shearer on balance though, just to see the back of the fat shirt seller.
-
I agree Alex; in this case it isn't better the devil you know. I can't say I'd look forward to any new ownership with any great optimism but I'm sure people would give Moat a chance. For no other reason than he isn't Ashley. However I can't believe that Ashley would walk away easily when the team is dong well. My only hope is that he has other distractions in his business and the penny's dropped about just how hated he is.
-
What do you base that on CT? Is this wishful thinking or do you know/know of him? I was very hopeful when Ashley took over. I was slightly worried by his reputation as a twat and a bully but swallowed the line that he wanted to have fun and be successful. Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine what a massive odious incompetent CUNT the man would turn out to be. I'm worried he could be Ashley Mark II but without any money.

"There is never a deed so foul that something couldn’t be said for the guy; that’s why there are lawyers." "People are getting smarter nowadays; they are letting lawyers, instead of their conscience, be their guide." "Beware of lawyers and consultants and people who do not take risks and who do not get their hands dirty." "The question arises ... whether all lawyers are the same. This is like asking whether everything that gets into a sewer is garbage." Various quotes on lawyers

Barton's been a massive disappointment. He's contributed nothing and sucked away cash that could have been used on someone worthwhile. No more second chances imo.

That and pokey bum wanking.

Collymore has shit for brains. No doubt he just sits down and blathers about the first thing that enters the cavernous space in his head, and some poor sap has to jot it down and turn it into copy.

CT's fingers must be red raw from clutching at straws so many times.....
-
I'd give him a jolly stern talking to. I'd probably waggle my finger at him a few times too. Then we'd shake hands and part as friends as long as he promised not to do it again.
