Exactly. Very disappointed Joey has gone. In fact, no, scratch that. I'm fuckin fuming. Not at the player but at the fucking imbeciles who are trying (and failing big style) to run the club! Who's next? If we should believe Joey, everybody with ambitions is next. Yeah, he's shown ambition by joining QPR, ambition to fatten his wallet. Looked miserable as fuck on T.V., guess he's pissed the only side that came in for him are odds on for the drop He only knocked back a wage cut at Newcastle. How far should a player go to not be a greedy bastard? Play for free? Not saying that but both him and Nolan have moved for money. Jose believes he will be playing champions league so moved for footballing reasons, which I can understand They all move for money. It's not the only reason as you point out, but it's right up there. I don't see anything wrong with that, prof footballers are all basically mercenaries anyway. If someone offered me a few extra grand to join their company I'd be off like a shot, especially if I didn't feel wanted or appreciated by my bosses. Doubly so if they tried to get me to take a pay cut into the bargain. It wouldn't/won't matter if he's adequately replaced.

It's not his best position though. To be fair Joey's best position was holding his ankles for Big John in the prison showers....

This sort of away fixture is tailor made for Joey Barton

Cricket is brilliant. Anybody who dislikes cricket should be deported to Russia.

Nah, the club should distribute a set of accounts to every season ticket holder, to wave vigorously above their heads whilst the announcer reads out selected highlights from the balance sheet

12 days to get a left back and striker in
Kitman replied to Holden McGroin's topic in Newcastle Forum
Except he's not a striker, is he??? he will be -
Why don't we Bring Back the Signings first?
-
I'm surprised he managed to hit the target tbh. Was probably aiming for the victim's balls.

Ben Arfa coming back from injury will be like signing a new striker -
I've heard that the transfer was agreed as part of the Nolan deal, with Cole coming our way on the last day of the transfer window. Apparently Pardoo really rates him from his West Ham days and wants Cole as a target man to complete the jigsaw. OK I made it up but it's probably true

Newcastle United v Fulham --- Sunday 1.00pm Kick Off
Kitman replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
This game's got banana skin written all over it imo. -
Probably earmarked for end of the January window if we're not in the relegation places. On his wages, he'll be looking like a turkey in the farmyard at Christmas time.

Im sure SJH has the original, if not framed, in the loft. I might see if I can dig out his reply. Was on nice paper. SJH will have used the original to get the log fire lit in his mansion. If you'd used better quality paper he might have wiped his arse on it
-
Yes. This is probably totally naive of me but I'd rather have him in the squad and let him leave on a free at the end of the season than strengthen QPR. Or at least wait till January. I realise there's more to it than that but the money involved seems relatively small...unless we don't replace him, it's not as if we're saving money. As I said it's personal imo.

I bet you wrote to Santa Claus last Christmas, eh CT? Is this really a footy thread btw?

We basically made it economically viable for our relegation rivals to sign him. tbh Barton is a workie ticket and I'm not devastated he's left. And I don't really care who's to blame, it's not as if we didn't know what the parties involved are like (Ashley, Llambias, Barton, McKay, Wormtongue-doo). No, what upsets me is we have weakened our team, strengthened our relegation rivals, not got a fucking penny out of it, and (I'm convinced) there isn't a snowball-up-a-cat's-arse-chance-in-hell of him being replaced by 1 Sept. So we've lost someone at the peak of his powers, PL hardened, who did the business on the field and for what? Because he's a pain in the arse for the owner presumably. This doesn't strike me as a business or football decision, it's personal.

I totally agree
-
The impression I get is that usually there's just a fax or email with an offer. Presumably if it's accepted there will be negotiations about the finer details - when to pay, sell on clause, add on amounts etc etc - but the proposition is quite straightforward unless a player exchange is involved. Once that's sorted then you have to sort the player's new contract. We don't seem to have got past the stage of making an acceptable offer for our latest targets. If indeed we've made offers at all. Unless, as others have suggested, we're doing it back to front and agreeing the player's contract in principle before their current club has even got wind of our interest?

Assuming we sign Pieters, wouldn't it make more sense to drop Raylor for Pieters and play Jonas on the right and Marveaux on the left?
-
Seems inconceivable that he'd have 2 medicals and not sign for QPR. If he's indulging in brinkmanship he's dangling off the edge by his toes.... No doubt McKay will be badgering him to sign anyway. Apparently stands to make at least 600k from the deal, if not more.....

Jesus wept man! I know his lass, thats just plain wrong! Well that's what JJC claimed many moons ago iirc. I think he also said his lass was ginger and overweight.
-
Haven't seen the details but with the exception of Jonas, Tiote and Barton, it sounds like it was our first team out tonight. Still, we won.

I think a penny is more than he was planning to spend
