  1. Yes, I went to the Madejski to watch it as I lived near Reading at the time. iirc he came on second half because we were utterly gash. I thought he was a class above the rest of the team which was depressing given he was the manager and wasn't meant to be playing. Was fantastic to see him play though.
  2. Sounds like she fell asleep in the bath and drowned. Suicide doesn't wash with me but she often found herself in hot water because of her drug use.
  3. I think I just marvelled at his technique in that clip But I wouldn't watch it again, I don't find the music interesting in itself. before the end of the clip I found my mind wandering to a critique of his hair and outfit.
  4. Sounds painful. I was at a wedding years ago in Connemara and got absolutely trolleyed on Guinness with whiskey chasers. Got the helicopter spins and all sorts, didn't puke but would've been better if I had. Next morning had the worst hangover of my life and we drove to Westport. I forget the name of the road but it's something like the ten pins, it felt as twisty as fuck anyway and I had to get out of the car to throw up. It's a famous beauty spot apparently, I couldn't tell you a thing about the countryside other than the verge was quite green. Anyway we got to Westport and in despair I went to the pub. A plate of lamb stew/boxty and a pint of Guinness later, I strode from the pub a new man, health and sanity completely restored. Twenty minutes before I would gladly have taken a bullet in the head.
  5. I dunno I thought she was formulaic and rather dull. I thought she was strangely unsexy for such a beautiful woman as well. If you'd given me a free ticket to her show when she was in her prime I honestly wouldn't have bothered going. Each to their own of course, particularly with musical taste, but just reading she was the most awarded female act of all time. 170 million album sales and seven consecutive number ones aint too shabby either. Yeah, you're right, she was certainly very popular back in the day. Whether her music will stand the test of time, I dunno.

  7. Checked in here for the first time in ages as I was sure CT would be bleating on about a hangover (tick). Then I read Stevie and Renton's posts about their dads. Ye Gods. Very sorry to hear about your troubles fellas, all the very best to you and your families and I hope it all turns out well. Puts the more petty issues of our lives in perspective really.
  8. Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett btw. It's "Try a little tenderness" anarl
  9. RIP. Hated her music.
  10. "Look I've already told you, I'm not playing Lady in Red or Abacab, now fuck off!"
  11. I quite enjoyed Malmsteens playing. His look is highly objectionable though.
  12. Thought we'd tried 4-3-3 and it didn't work? Can't recall who, was it fulham?
  13. Just saw dalglish's interview. Dear me. That's not doing LFC any favors at all.
  14. I haven't watched the game. The match kicked off 6.30 am nz time and I got pissed last night so overslept. Got up at 7.30 am to see we were 4 down. Went back to bed. Looking on the bright side other results were pretty good for us and I didn't expect us to get anything at spurs. A 5-0 drubbing is horrible but we now have a couple of very winnable games to get back on track.
  15. Well what are you doing in it in the first place then? Other than moaning about something that isn't happening and making it all the more likely to do so in the process? Fucking hell no wonder it "keeps happening" if everyone's expecting it to all the time. Self fulfilling message board. I have to read the thread to see if I'm interested in it. I would have thought that was obvious, even to someone as angry as you. And I stand by what I said. Look at the OP, who posted it, the subject matter, and who's been perpetuating the "debate" with Leazes.
  16. The thread's valid, it's the motive I doubt. then answer the thread not the "motive" and prevent discussion on it in the first place Not interested in the thread subject tbh. And the discussion will happen regardless of anything I say.
  17. "I wish we had supporters like Newcastle's. Their supporters are more loyal than ours. On has to be fair - if we'd signed Kevin keegan, I don't believe we would have had the same reaction through the turnstiles." Tom Cowie SAFC chairman 1982 "Our prices are half Newcastle's prices - you just can't compare the clubs, they're not to compare. We're stuck between a massive city that's vibrant like Newcastle...and Middlesborough." Bob Murrray 2002 Can't think why they're bitter.....
  18. Milner in for Ben Arfa, haha Selling club indeed Which is the point of the thread of course, let's bait Leazesmag again. Tedious stuff.
  19. Yes, as long as they're a cockernee, they're lovely-jubbly, fank-yew-vewy-mahch
  20. Dunno how you blokes can dabble with this. I was either 20 a day and a few j's in the evening or nothing. No self control, the only way to quit for me was to go cold turkey......I couldn't cut down, wouldn't do hypno and I couldn't get the patches lit......
  21. You should come to NZ. Every barber's a real barber, it's like the golden age of barber-y here. I was hoping I'd be offered "something for the weekend" first time I went to the local barbers, sadly nay.
