I know where PL is coming from. I think if you've followed the toon for a long time, you sort of expect to be disappointed when there's the prospect of achieving something. As my brother in law says about NUFC "I can handle the despair, it's the hope I can't stand." Mind you, making 5th or 6th this season and the EL is fucking stellar, so personally I'm delighted with how things have gone this season

I remember seeing O'Neill as a world cup pundit a few years back and thinking he was mentally unstable. I suspect he might be as mad as a box of frogs. FWIW I think he did a terrible job at Villa given the money he spent, and is partly responsible for their current predicament. I'm looking forward to seeing his new signings (if he gets any money to spend that is).

I lived there for 6 years or so in the 90s. It was fucking brilliant, it's a great city. If you're not out having fun though there's not much point to living there imo. The key is to hook up with like minded people.
