Very happy with the point. Second half was a cracking game of football.

Shay's biggest assets were his agility and reflexes. He was a great keeper for us but I don't think he was one of the greats. Schmeichel for instance was a great shot stopper but also had great presence and imo intimidated the opposition; whereas Given lacked presence and always looked, well, lacking in size imo. He was particularly poor at dealing with corners and I don't recall him ever saving a pelanty. As Tooj says great shot stopper and kept us in many a game. Also great fitness record. Sounds like he's over the hill now, wouldn't get in ahead of Krul and wouldn't have him back to warm the bench.

Null points imo from this fixture. A draw would be a very good result.

He comes across as spoilt beyond belief, vain and self-obsessed. I hope he's not like that in real life but I suspect he is. On a brighter note, I found new respect for Drogba when I learnt he's spent a lot of his own money on charity/hospitals etc in Ivory Coast and is a goodwill ambassador for the UN. Bit like Will.i.am, there's a lot more to him than meets the eye.

Who do you as a Toon see as rivals and friends?

I see grammar as the main enemy -
Could anybody be that sad?

RIP. Ticker gave up apparently.

And we all smoked in the office too. So there.

That's nothing. When I started work we had a typing pool. Lots of lovely secretaries (and a few old battle axes). Most people dictated stuff to be typed up.....there was one computer attached to a dot matrix printer. It was so fucking loud it had its own room. Within a few years everybody had their own computers and did their own typing, alas.

If there's a club that's living beyond its means (other than QPR) it's WHU. Dunno how they can afford Carroll's wages in all seriousness.....I've nothing against them but would love to see Allardyce get relegated
-
If that's true, he's finished as a footballer already
-
We've no possible way of knowing the answer to that question. It's also about where the player wants to move to btw.

Let's hope stick man shane can stay fit this time, we could do with him in the squad
-
I know I shouldn't but

The thing is, I reckon if we'd bought Debuchy, it would've given the fans and the squad a massive lift. Add to that the increase in quality at RB, and the message that we're going to keep improving, it's a no brainer for me. If the deal foundered over a small amount of difference in valuation, it's fucking stupid imo. I bet Pardew was pissed off.
-
I agree with that. If it is their objective, it's a long long way down the track.
-
Probably in training
-
The thing is, unless it's someone who has an appreciation of the club, its history and the area, it might as well be an Arab if they're minted & going to pour money into the club. imo.

Not that I think it'll happen btw.

Freddy's had his go and is getting on, I don't think we should go back. I'd prefer someone younger with a passion for the club and the Newcastle area and fucking deep pockets. Oh and a great big boot to stick up Llambias' arse

I suppose I have double standards. On the one hand I respect people's property. On the other hand I can sympathise if a homeless person squats when the alternative is sleeping under a bridge. The only people I've met who were squatters were pretty desperate characters; I wouldn't be impressed if a regular person did it just to dodge rent.

9th. In a pessimistic mood after this transfer window
