  1. I don't think Pardew will ever be a top manager. I've accepted that we will never do anything worthwhile whilst he's in charge or we're owned by Ashley. The derby loss came as no surprise to me given it involved Poyet on one side and Mr Mediocre on the other.
  2. If Jonas had played, he'd have been shit
  3. I actually found it pretty interesting. However since I'm usually screaming in rage at the TV from my armchair in NZ, I can't comment on the accuracy of the analysis.
  4. It's probably a signature dish......
  5. Strangely they didn't picture Ribery with his......
  6. CT's latest effort for the Cooking thread?
  7. I'm pleased England have qualified. I'm even more pleased I don't get British papers here.
  8. I've always disliked Poyet.....he may as well be their manager
  9. I think I'll only be bothered if we look like getting relegated. Otherwise it's a meh from me too......we have the feel of a club meandering along, happy with mediocrity....
  10. Indeed, it's much better to use our postal votes to return conservative govts we don't have to live under, and fuck you off.......
  11. What a load of shit. Firstly the use of employee benefit trusts is a fairly well known tax dodge, enabling Rangers to gain an advantage in paying their players which I assume other SPL clubs didn't get. So blame the Board of Oldco not HMRC who are only doing their job in trying to stamp out tax fiddles....I don't see a petition for Starbucks or Google claiming victimisation. Secondly I understand the case is under appeal - so hasn't been "won" by Oldco - the first hearing being a tax tribunal which only returned a majority verdict.....so hardly exoneration. So, no.
  12. Is this one of the 12 year olds from Singapore that Leazes went on about?
  13. put it this way I don't think Cardiff will be shitting themselves...
  14. Sacked by xmas I reckon. Joe in as caretaker till end of season.
  15. Was that Saint and Greavesie footage only from 1987? It felt more like 1977!
  16. It's telling that our Board now quite openly state that their only objective is to stay in the PL, as if that was an end in itself. It's a manifesto for perpetual mediocrity.....and underlines what we already knew, that we have no interest at all in competing for anything other than survival from year to year. The cunts. I suspect most PL clubs are the same.....no ambition beyond keeping their snout in the PL trough. We would love to be in Spurs position, yet their main ambition imo is to break into the top 4 because that's where the CL riches are. Because these days that's the definition of a successful club.....if you're not in the CL, you can't compete because of the money the CL clubs earn. Which will always make you an also ran. In the meantime we watch cup games treated like training matches for second string wannabees and an exercise in avoiding injuries. No wonder the players don't give a shit and every year see our hopes pissed on usually by the third or fourth round. Why take the cups seriously, the Board doesn't, the players don't and the manager doesn't, because his focus is the league and avoiding the sack......so we're only ever competing to stay in the league against the other also rans. Where's the fucking hope? I think the general hopelessness and apathy of supporters together with swingeing prices will sooner or later kill the spectacle that made the PL prime TV fodder in the first place. I think hope is the biggest underestimated currency in football and in that sense we are heading for bankruptcy, no matter how much the directors fap over the balance sheet behind closed doors. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if in the future Sky use canned chants and fan footage to add atmosphere and compensate for the empty seats and dwindling support. So in answer to the OP, imo the answer is no.
  17. Kenny Sansom, Phil Thompson, Butch Wilkins, Graham Rix apparently
  18. I fancy us for the win based on form and home advantage. Would be nice to put yet another one over their alcoholic manager Mrs Doubtfire......and the universal law of Karma dictates that their appalling goal celebration cannot be allowed to go unpunished
  19. It's probably a pipe dream to get rid of Ashley. I don't think he'll be happy until he's done fucking us and for some reason I don't feel we're anywhere near the money shot yet.....
