  1. Anyway that Shola's shit, isn't he?
  2. FWIW my impression of Aussies is that they genuinely believe it's the greatest place on earth. Which is surprising considering most of it is desert and the parts that are inhabitable are infested with lethal fauna.
  3. The voter turn out in the UK is risible....isn't it something like less than half of the population? I mention it merely as an indication that quite a lot of people in the UK are probably quite racist....half a million people is a lot in my book and that's just those who voted for the idiotic racist party....I'm sure you could add a fair few Tories/little Englanders/I don't eat foreign muck etc in there as well. I'm not expecting it's something you can prove statistically.
  4. I'm not suggesting that all British people are bigots though...I'm questioning whether we have the moral high ground. Maybe racism is more overt in Australia, I don't know; I've only been to Sydney and Melbourne a handful of times but I didn't hear any racism at all. I've never been anywhere else in Australia so I couldn't comment. However I've heard plenty of racism in places as diverse as Newcastle, Wales, Reading and London.....although it's tended to be from older people (40+) and in a range of different contexts. Whether that means things are improving or that younger people are more guarded or just more educated, I don't know... As it happens the worst racism I ever heard was from a drunk Aussie woman at a restaurant here in NZ. She was ejected with a toe up her arse....and this is the land of casual racism, so it gives you an idea how bad she was.
  5. That's just hard core bigots. You can add a sizeable chunk of Yorkshire's population to that for starters. And so on.
  6. That stat's from wikipedia btw so could be rubbish....
  7. Apparently half a million people voted for the BNP in the 2010 election. That's the ones who could be bothered to vote.
  8. I don't think the British are in a position to call anyone on racism. Glasshouses and all that
  9. that picture of Perez. It looks like someone's photoshopped a kid's legs onto his body
  10. Sydney is a fucking great city. I've been there a few times to visit...the main downside is the bloody awful traffic
  11. Surely his biggest problem is he's hardly played and when he has it's been totally out of position. A classic Pardewing in other words.
  12. this post is hilarious, considering you hang on every word written in the media including twitter, and post every shit rumour going
  13. You've probably got 5 years of tripping over the ball or being flagged offside to look forward to
  14. I find it incredible Celtic would even speak to Roy Keane about succeeding Neil Lennon. He's shown nothing to suggest he's anywhere near up to the task.
  15. plain brown envelopes left in a locker at kings cross station. You aint seen me, right?
  16. I wouldnt be surprised if mbiwas asked the club to sell him. Id request a transfer in his position
  17. According to the chron, we're sticking with coloccini, taylor and williamson as our first team centre backs. Mbiwa will be sold and with no plans to replace him. I find that utterly utterly depressing. I'm dreading next season already.
  18. Doesn't really "cost" him anything though does it? He'd just be swapping one asset for another, so as long as the shares retain the value he's put in (the loans) then he still gets his money back when he sells. The only downside is he would lose the flexibility to get his loan money back unless he sells, but he shows no sign of wanting to do that anyway. In that sense the loans are like equity anyway. He can have his free advertising whether or not he has loans or equity.
  19. Presumably the negotiation team consists of Delboy and Rodney Trotter, with Trigger as special adviser
  20. We should be called Barrow Boys United. Our negotiating team comes across to me like a bunch of spivs on the make...no wonder clubs like montpellier tell us to pay decent money or fuck off.
  21. So we're low balling on the Cabella fee and then we'll try to screw him on wages. Yet we're close to signing him apparently. Sounds like deja vu.
