Yeah. I'd understand it if we had a load of players over 30 but the average age must be nearer 26 or 27 due to our signing policy.
-
I think Pardew Carver and Stone have a case to answer as far as injuries are concerned. It cant be a coincidence we regularly have the worst injury list in the league. I would hope the new manager will make a big difference in that area. Unless its Carver of course.

nil points

Obertan coming back will be like a new signing. A shit one
-
I guess he's got a lot on his plate, what with handling enquiries about our players. No new contract for Rolando Aarons yet either. Poor lamb must be exhausted!
-
soooooo mid January and no new signings and no manager. That Lee Charnley's been busy.
-
Its disgraceful that we dont have better CBs actually. We've persisted with Taylor and Willo as first choice way too long imo.
-
I certainly think Williamson at CB and Dummett at LB is cretinous. Dummett makes a better CB than Willo and Santon or Haidara make better LBs than Dummett. Its Pardewesque from Carver.
-
That makes more sense tbh. If its his wages over the life of his contract, then its good value if his goals keep them up. IF.

14 mill for a 32 year old? Thats pretty desperate...
-
I see that Clement bloke's ruled himself out. The short list's getting shorter. I wonder whether Carvers on it yet...
-
'Arrys a cheque book manager. He wouldn't come to a club where the cheque book's locked away in the fat chairman's office.

Left back It'd be a midfielder. On the basis we really need a CH or an accomplished striker.
-
I wouldn't have thought Ashley thinks any signings are necessary, what with 27 points in the bag and all the players returning from injury this month. If we did sign someone, I reckon it'll be a bargain in a position we don't need.
-
Is that according to the Knight Ryder? I suspect he hasn't got a clue what's really happening....

"And I'd have got away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky fans!"
-
I suppose it depends on whether the amount of cash at stake is significant. Is flogging tickets a problem these days?
-
I guess if all you see is a genial fat bloke who pays you large amounts of money in the twilight of your career and enjoys a drink, then you'd think he's all right too. Unfortunately we've been on the receiving end of the unpleasant sides of his character in the way hes run the club.

I doubt they give a toss about what the fans think one way or another. After this ia the regime that appointed Kinnear. Twice.
-
Good point. They're also surrounded by toadying sucker fish who'll be busy blowing smoke up their arses and feeding their egos.

I think that top footballers also inherently believe they're good enough to start every week at any club they go to. You don't get to the top without that sort of self belief/arrogance no matter how talented you are.
