Carver is a shit appointment, everyone has a perfect right to complain. The only thing that would make it excusable is if we get a really good manager in the summer. And I think whilst an 8 point head start should be enough to stave off relegation, I think it's still a gamble to put Carver in charge. Our season is a write off and we're run by penny pinching fuckwits, so it's perfectly justified to be pissed off about this imo.

Nothing will make me wish Pardew was still our manager. There's nothing to like about a clueless vain bullshitter with no top lip.
-
The Mail is speculating we're waiting to see if Shteve Mclaren fails to win promotion with Derby and can be tempted away. The whole thing reeks of vacillation and drift imo.....better to make no decision than the wrong one so lets just bumble along in the hope it all turns out OK. Not impressed.
-
it only takes a couple of clubs down the very bottom to put together a run and we're right in the mix. What concerns me is there is absolutely nothing to suggest Carver can secure the points necessary, the man has very little management experience......and 1 point out of 9 available so far.

Anita and Riviere both look like shocking buys atm

Cry me a Riviere?

Its a totally shit decision obviously. We are trusting our survival to a man whose qualification for the role was a short unsuccessful stint with Toronto FC and putting out the cones for Sir Bobby and Pardew. A man whos coached the team trhough long periods of awful football defeats and regular humpings. How a man who looks like a pub landlord and whose answer to crises seems to be aggressive bluster is supposed to organise and manage a bunch of disinterested continental millionaires is a worry. Im not sure a 7 point head start is enough of a cushion for this guy, its such a massive gamble. But this is the current regime all over. They dress up their lack of action in replacing failing managers and players as "support".....but i think theres a rabbit in the headlights quality to it. To me it looks like an inability to act decisively, preferring to muddle through and hope it turns out for the best. Not good enough imo. Lets hope we havent used up all our luck on Pardew eh

who cares what deals the fat cunt's up to inhis business dealings? Won't affect us....his cronies have previously spelt out that he's not going to invest a further bean in the club so the money will only flow one way. Which is sweet for him....he has no incentive at all to change the status quo.

and oh so interesting....

I guess if you value shares via a large multiple of profit, then he gets more money for his SD shares by giving it free advertising . I guess that makes sense if he has no intention of selling NUFC, the only downside being that hes making the 40% or so of other shareholders richer in the process.
-
The one thing I dont understand is why je would enrich SD at the expense of NUFC. He owns 100% of the latter and just over half of SD. Unless more profit in SD translates into an exponential increase in the value of his SD shares?

The heirarchy seem pretty complacent about staying up. I'm not so sure based on Cardews record to date.
-
He'll only flick it on if he can't use us as a TV billboard for his shitty gear? That is a depressing thought!

Whats not clear to me is whether the club is being run to profit Ashley (via advertising, merchandising etc) or simply not to lose him money. I suspect theres been a bit of a journey here 1. it started out as a short term speculative adventure for Ashley which went sour 2. he then battened down the hatches and ran it simply to not lose any money. He determined to extract maximum benefits for SD in return for his loans 3. the game has shifted from not losing money to recouping all the money he has put in including loans and purchase price. He might elect not to repay the loans but let the net worth of the club rise instead. Or maybe the club could refund its own purchase. Whatever hes up to, i dont think we'll ever move forward until the club has generated sufficient worth to ensure all of his investment (purchase price plus funding loans) will be repaid, plus a handsome profit on top. Until that day, we won't see more tgan the bare minimum invested in players. I think this what limits the ambition of the club, as any significant profits wont go back into the playing staff. If thats right, the interesting question is whether if Ashley got all if his loans repaid, and the club's shares achieved a satisfactory value, he would change to reinvesting profits into the first team. I suspect not.

Dingleberries Dangleberries would make more sense although I've never heard the expression.....
-
And thats presupposing Ryder's £2m is correct.....which it probably isn't
-
Absolutely correct. We can sack the entire coaching staff and using the Pardew compo still be £1.5m up. However I expect that won't be seen as "value" in the "medium term" so not a penny will be spent getting rid of the useless fuckers.

Goin' back to my roots? -
Charnley has the look of a middle management bean counter about him. I doubt he rushes his bowl of Shreddies let alone choosing a new manager
