  1. We're going down Liverpool for the weekend for a mate's 21st so we're looking for recommendations on pubs, things to do, the usual. We're all Beatles fans so we'll see the usual things to do with them but we're looking for places that may not be immediately obvious or good places to drink since we're all clueless to the city. Cheers.
  2. 20k for a player who would improve the squad for a bit is hardly breaking the bank, man. I'd agree it was a foolish deal if he wanted 40-50k a week but we desperately need options off the bench and Larsson would provide it. He'd do a job for us tbh and you're not going to get any better for less than 20k a week.
  3. Having an ego isn't dependant on other peoples having big egos, shirley. Came across wrong. I don't think it's unfair for a player like Larsson to want 20k when there's wasters in the side on much more. Asking for 20k as a fairly decent Premier League footballer is basically the average as well so there's no ego involved at all. Like someone said, how many bullets will we dodge until we realise there's no fucker coming in.
  4. Wanting 20k a week when Alan Smith is on 60k is having an ego?
  5. Nowt wrong with Shed Seven - excellent live and pretty inoffensive generally. Aye, I jest, they had a few canny songs and seemed like decent blokes. Both of which put them above Kula Shaker... I remember an NME interview with Rick Witter where he said he never wanked till he was 17 because he just wasn't interested. Respect due for being honest, I suppose. Christ! Must have had bollocks like space hoppers.
  6. Will be closer than the teamsheets suggest IMO. Wouldn't want to call it like.
  7. Parky blatantly looking for an excuse to stride around Hamburg in his undercrackers tbh.
  8. All the daft people on my Facebook friends list liked it so I'm going to agree on that basis.
  9. Stevie, you need to have your own movie review section in the Chronicle.
  10. Just started watching Community and that's class. Lots of meta-humour but a good comedy cast (including Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong and Trudy off Mad Men) and very tightly-written. The whole point of the show is about a study group at Community College (it's not a high school comedy though) and it's a different "class" every week usually with some mint guest stars popping up as the teachers. Well worth a go.
  11. I was always in top sets but I managed to get on with the popular kids as much as the divvies so I didn't get much stick really, just the usual shite. We had one teacher who was immense, he didn't do any sort of planning, just turned up with a sheet of paper with what he needed to mention in that lesson and just knew it all off the top of his head. He got marked by one of those knackers from the school board or whatever in one of those lessons where he'd done no planning and got the lowest possible grade because of it. At the end of the year, everyone in the class (8 or 9 of us in 6th form) got A's and B's but he still got bumped off teaching History at A-Level for a while. The pettty shite that you always used to get whiff of between the teachers was worse than the kids.
  12. Why was Enrique with him when he was getting it done? That's a bizarre friendship if I've ever seen one.
  13. We perfected it though. "It was a teenage wedding and the old cunts wished them well" - that type of 1950's music never done anything for me, and I can't think of anything from the 60's America gave us that turns me on. Motown is a record label that was originally founded by Berry Gordy, Jr. and incorporated as Motown Record Corporation in Detroit, Michigan, USA, on April 14, 1960 Bob Dylan James Brown (albeit he came round earlier) Jimi Hendrix Simon and Garkunkle Beach Boys This is just some hugely successful artists you've probably heard of. Jazz was still going strong in the 60s, some breakthrough records musically speaking. I have to say, Oasis/Robbie Williams, very very white. You don't seem to be a fan of any black music, I feel sorry for you if that's the case. Umbongo. I quite like some of James Brown's songs to be fair. Bob Dylan though, never liked his style, sounded like he was a pissed tramp trying to get wind up when he sung. Although I realise he has a massive cult following around the world, not for me though. Sounds like me trying to order a taxi when I'm pissed. I still love him though.
  14. Then it's his job to get them motivated. The younger players should not be overawed when it comes to a cup tie against Stevenage ffs and the older players should be snapped out of complacency if there's any present.
