  1. The post I made earlier on in the thread basically ripped that argument apart and funnily enough, it went ignored.
  2. no defensive midfield, you score 4 we score 7! Not including beye, barely had 50 games and then buggered off. Can't decide upfront, as much as i love SLF, Tino was always a joy to watch, and bellamy always a threat. But you still include Sicknote who played 36? (At least Habib had the decency of scoring before buggering off, not that it justifies his salary which I'm sure was alot less than Woodgates ) I thought we were going on the idea that they were all fit and ready to go and I think Woodgate would walk right in given that criteria. I'd have Beye in the squad like.
  3. Basically, you're a knacker who likes to go "WHEY" whenever he sees a sliding tackle then?
  4. A good defender shouldn't have to rely on going to ground though! HOW DON'T YOU GET THIS?
  5. Thats a shame... never been, where is it and what type of food? It's an Italian on Jesmond Road just near the punchbowl if you know it. Menu is still available online and is dirt cheap pizzas are like £4.95 and like I say, if it is open would highly reccommend it but I fear it may not be We went to go there a couple of days ago and they're refurbishing the place according to the sign on the door.
  6. I was thinking this as well, when have you ever seen a top defender questioned for not constantly going to ground Agreed. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he's only been watching football for a few years.
  7. Whats contrary about having a discussion about whether a player has improved or not. Awaits answer....... The fact you're asking if one of our widely acknowledged best players has improved. That sentence should literally answer that question for good. Not at all. My opinion is that his attacking side has gone back, its very simple. Yet you can't recall this attacking side specifically. Except in the Championship where he was so above and beyond the rest of the division, he could afford to go forward a bit more. It's only natural that he wouldn't be so gung-ho in the PL because the chances of getting caught out and punished are much higher. Honestly cant believe Im reading this tbh In his 60 odd prem games before relegation I would have though that most people would recall his wing play with Jonas and how they overlapped each other down the left. Truly astonished. You're talking total shit. If you remember it that much, give some examples because I literally can't. Gutierrez had that game at Man United but all the attacking play down the left in that one came from solo runs. Neither of them got any goals in that season as well and Bassong played quite a few games at LB that season as well so these great overlapping runs must have come at the end of the season where nobody in the squad had any confidence, we were playing shit football and getting beat all the time. So, please, point some out.
  8. Only had 4 assists in the Championship season so for someone who attacks all the time, the stats really aren't proving it. In the PL, he's never bombed forward and if you had a memory that went back further than 6 weeks, you'd know that.

  10. I will be dressed as a 1920's flapper girl with a purple feather boa so probably not Well funny you should say that because most of the people in there were born in 1920. No you can't go wrong for a one off night out in the toon. When you live here though and you've been everywhere 100 times done everything 100 times it gets boring, which is why I love going on the drink in other places. I've never got bored of nights out in London. Aye, I'm in the same boat; I love going elsewhere for a drink now. As for the topic, what sort of places is the hen into? The toon's got plenty of places that can give you cheap cocktails and get smashed if that's what she's after.
  11. Bellamy should at least be on everyone's bench IMO.

  13. In what way do you think his game is improving? I know he does the ball guard better than anyone, but when does he ever get telling tackles in? Look at the Arsenal second half, Simpson was all over the box making last minute sliding tackles. Re your second paragraph, that was part of my main point. Once bitten and all that. If a Barton type player was ahead of him who didnt lose possession then I think Enrique would be magnificent not only with bye line crosses, but also with a few goals. He doesn't have to make last ditch tackles because he reads the game that well and is strong and quick enough to get the ball with no fuss. How do you think that's a bad thing? The thread was about the other parts of his game and whether they have improved or declined. He has always being able to guard the ball and nobody has said that is a bad thing. But last ditch tackles aren't a part of his game because he doesn't need to do them. Saying Simpson is improving because he has to make last minute tackles after his man goes past him then saying Enrique hasn't because he doesn't let his man past him to make last minute tackles makes no sense to me.

  15. People get past Simpson far more than they do Enrique. I'd say Enrique has a more consistent cross and pass on him as well and he's better at beating his man. So basically, he's still better than Simpson and I like them both.
  16. See now thats a proper response. Shame on PP and Alex. I certainly dont think we've seen the Enrique of old who would burst down the wing this season. Think he did it a lot more before we were relegated and in the champ (obv in the champ). He's being more conservative with his runs down the flank because it's far easier to get caught out and punished in the PL. I can only really remember him bursting down the wing when Keegan was here and even then, I can't recall it more than he has this season.
  17. It should be obvious that he's improving btw. Some of his long passes this season have been immense; the one to Best against Fulham was inch-perfect and he's unleashed some good ones for Jonas to run on to. He's walked into this league and looked one of the best ones in it, so to say he's not improving is a bit mental. EDIT: Very attacking play?
  18. That's because he's already a permanent fixture of the first team squad having being on the bench for the last 5 or 6 games....... Not to open a can of worms but that's because there's nee fucker else who can play wide left in the squad.
  19. I'm glad he's not tbh since we don't want him picking up an injury. I don't think he'd fit in with the rest of that squad, personality wise like.
  20. Bastard, I was going to make a joke about the Riverside having 30,000 family enclosure seats at the request of the fans.
  21. Say Britney Spears three times when looking into the mirror and she appears in your bathroom trying to sell you pegs and read your fortune.
  22. I think you're right. Only got 11 in 78 at Boro.
  23. I might do it like, depends on where the seats are I suppose, couldn't be sitting right next to the family bit! I might gan for it considering the money I'll save. I'll only have it for one season like but it's actually tempting. Don't agree with the shifting of sections like but his levels of arsehole-ness don't surprise me anymore.
  24. I could get that £265 one which would save me some cash. It'd probably be full of students though; will look like the house from The Young Ones by November.
