  1. They might well finish above us this season but us shipping 6 past the "Best Sunderland team in recent memory" in our first season fucking grates so much, it's a delight to see. We've got a point for every Kevin Nolan chicken dance in these two games.
  2. "best mackem team in 30 years" can only take one point off our little newly promoted one. Shame.
  3. Too rights, high five. I used to live just off Coatsie Road and that had FIVE chip shops, a Nisa AND the Toon Army Barber Shop. Back of the net. Slumming it with the jews? Live two mins from there tbh, just up near the Leisure Centre. The other way, next to Windmill Hills. Been a year or something since I moved now like but it was handy to basically be in walking distance of Newcastle. I remember us talking about the finer points of takeaways along your end before

  5. To steer this back on track, any ones in particular you recommend? Probably not to a group of 21 year olds on the piss to be honest. The Albert dock has already been mentioned and might suit you, if it's purely to be on the piss then the Mathew street area will be best. I used to like the pubs around the Hope street area though - The Pilgrim, The Crack, Casablancas and the like. You really should try the Philharmonic as well, it's canny spectacular. Not sure how many places I used to go to will still be there but see what you can find. I remember Liverpool had a lot of odd clubs which you had to know about even to find - you'd need to ring a doorbell to get in - the Blue Angel club was a case in point. We're not really a group that's going to want clubs and all that, we like a quiet one in a good pub as well so I'll remember Hope Street, cheers.

  7. Aye because I'm looking to see Britain's Got Talent and celebs Ta anyway for your incredibly brief suggestions, Mick. If it's as much of a shit tip as everyone's saying, we'll probably just spend the weekend on the lash.
  8. Is that just before you get to Park Lane, and on your right there's a pub called the Park Lane. Changed since I worked there like. Bookies right beside there I stuck my biggest bet ever on, and still is to this day, on France to win the 2002 WC. It is, aye. There's a pub called Gatsbys that is right next to a fishmongers so when you go up to the toilets, it always stinks of fish.
  9. One of the shittest nightclubs in the world. There's also a strip club near there that's 3 quid in and 12 quid a dance off some of the ropiest looking women this side of The Hills Have Eyes.
  10. We're going down Liverpool for the weekend for a mate's 21st so we're looking for recommendations on pubs, things to do, the usual. We're all Beatles fans so we'll see the usual things to do with them but we're looking for places that may not be immediately obvious or good places to drink since we're all clueless to the city. Cheers.
  11. 20k for a player who would improve the squad for a bit is hardly breaking the bank, man. I'd agree it was a foolish deal if he wanted 40-50k a week but we desperately need options off the bench and Larsson would provide it. He'd do a job for us tbh and you're not going to get any better for less than 20k a week.
  12. Having an ego isn't dependant on other peoples having big egos, shirley. Came across wrong. I don't think it's unfair for a player like Larsson to want 20k when there's wasters in the side on much more. Asking for 20k as a fairly decent Premier League footballer is basically the average as well so there's no ego involved at all. Like someone said, how many bullets will we dodge until we realise there's no fucker coming in.
  13. Wanting 20k a week when Alan Smith is on 60k is having an ego?
  14. Nowt wrong with Shed Seven - excellent live and pretty inoffensive generally. Aye, I jest, they had a few canny songs and seemed like decent blokes. Both of which put them above Kula Shaker... I remember an NME interview with Rick Witter where he said he never wanked till he was 17 because he just wasn't interested. Respect due for being honest, I suppose. Christ! Must have had bollocks like space hoppers.
  15. Will be closer than the teamsheets suggest IMO. Wouldn't want to call it like.
  16. Parky blatantly looking for an excuse to stride around Hamburg in his undercrackers tbh.
  17. All the daft people on my Facebook friends list liked it so I'm going to agree on that basis.
  18. Stevie, you need to have your own movie review section in the Chronicle.
