  1. We'll see how much the team is poorer without Nolan next week. When he was out at the start of this season, we looked lost.
  2. I imagine they should get some run-outs toward the end of the season. They see more of him than us so there's every chance he's not progressing how we'd like.
  3. Ranger needs to be down the Championship for a season as well IMO.
  4. The power of positive thought didn't work for Uri Geller in Euro 96 and it won't work for us.
  5. Isn't there another member called James Westfall as well? Happy belated.
  6. Aye, that was class. I thought Shola demonstrated why he's an average PL striker and Leon Best isn't today. Held things up better, good assist for Nolan's goal, canny workrate (which is not something I always say about Shola), I thought he was good.
  7. "Weak Barca side" = front 3 of Afellay, Villa and Iniesta
  8. Debatable, we've dropped far too many points at home this season to inferior teams, t'was good to see a bit of clinical finishing for once. I think it was a sideways dig at what i said tbh. My point was in the MUST win games we have done well. Was more of a gentle pisstake tbh. Fair play on you predicting we'd do well, still think we could do with another win, especially with the games we have.
  9. Funny that we always come good in the games against teams worse than us
  10. Someone pissed themselves on the school photo. Aged 16. I'll have a proper think in a bit.
  11. Can we reflect on CT's best bits? My personal highlight was when he was so bowled over by Alex's pasta sauce, he printed it off and gave it to all his friends in the pub.
  12. Aye took a nasty old turn this place of late. Snides and back stabbers all over the place. Toonraider summed it up well this afternoon when she said she couldnt imagine her husband or son getting dragged into this sort of thing. Shes right and to be honest its not for me either. A bit of banter over the toon or politics is fine, but all this secret forums where a clique can slag off other members without them knowing, really oversteps the line for me and drags this place into the gutter. While I always find a good old flounce amusing, I think I find myself having to follow the recent trend and returning to being an occasional lurker for the time being. And with that, he saddled up and rode gracefully into the sunset. I only discovered this place by accident around December and was drawn by fun of Stokoeshop so who the fuck am I to comment to be honest but reading all this its freaked me out a bit like. Proper mudslinging, some folk walking, Wogans wand etc. !?! Bit bonkers really What we need is someone to find a note in a paper offering sex. Then we're laughing again.
  13. I wonder where U V thinks the money could come from, maybe he'll answer the question. I'm too busy with the conundrum of where the money we used to generate with a terrible chairman has gone such that now we're run by such a great businessman we managed to double the club debt in 3 years even though TV revenues shot up when he bought the club and we've made £50m+ profit on selling players. It's completely bizarre and unexplainable how revenues have dropped when everyone can see how well Mike is doing by putting the best possible people in charge, selling players and cutting costs. I wonder if Toonpack, or his chums on skunkers, can shed any light on this mystery ? What's the point when as soon as someone with half a brain actual produces an analysis of the figures they are dismissed with insults and any half-baked opinions like this with no back up are quoted by you here and on Skunkers. Doesn't matter what the subject, actual facts are ridiculed under the guise of "but we were in Europe" as if that's some kind of ultimate joker which trumps anything. For starters this lad can either break down his "50m profit" (which I guess includes Carroll which has no bearing on current financial figures) or we could try some actual facts or questions you can't answer like how would Shepherd have refinanced loans since the credit crunch. He'd have backed his manager like all good chairmen do. I know it's hard for you and your lefty do-gooder liberal chums to understand but if you're happy to be outbid by the Stokes and Wigans of this world, be my guest
  14. 1st April Only one today that really fits the shenanigans of the day. 2009 Most Newcastle fans woke up to what they must have thought was an April fool as Alan Shearer was announced as manager for the rest of the season. The move came just days after MD Derek Llambias rubbished claims that the club were set to replace Chris Hughton with a short-term appointment - but followed on from comments made by Joe Kinnear that suggested he was unlikely to make an imminent touchline return. Iain Dowie was tipped to join Shearer as his assistant - the former striker having been a team mate of his back in their Saints days. The pair had just eight games to save United, starting with the visit of Chelsea to SJP. That thread on here is such a good read when it turns from disbelief into acceptance into delayed excitement
  15. If we were paying his wages, he wouldn't have been here at all
  16. Being honest and realistic tbh. I'm sure I'll watch it, just exaggerating. No its pessimistic and negative as fuck. It doesnt do any good. Positivity breeds positivity 3:0 Your positivity is rooted in nothing though. What has suggested in recent performances that we'll beat these? We've got injuries to an already depleted strike force and our key midfielder missing against a side who will batter us around in the middle of the park. Tbh i dont get it neither, away from Matchdays i'm the most pessimistic fan you can find, if we were top of the league i'd be looking how many points off relegation we were, but when i get to St James' i do nothing but get behind the team, no booing, nothing, just constant support for them. And for the first time in a while i thought we were gonna win a game against Everton and get a 2-0 win.....That teaches me for being positive Aye, at the match, you've got to rally them on and support them. Sometimes, like the Arsenal game, it clearly spurs the players on. In terms of looking at matches before they take place and looking at the state of the club, there's nothing atm to breed any positivity. It's a pessimistic viewpoint but it's a realistic and justified one. Expecting NUFC to go out and make strides in the transfer window and turning Wolves over with no decent strikers is asking for trouble.

  18. Has anyone ever called a lass "mate" or "pal" before? I done it but she was a bus driver so that's alright.
  19. Yeah! YEAHHHHHHHH! I think it may be time for me to give this forum a little rest don't ya know?! I have enough stress in my real life without coming on here and getting wound up half way through each thread. Don't let it get to you. Little boys never really grow up - it's pathetic. Not always true Cath, neither my hubby or son would waste their precious time arguing with strangers on internet forums! Each to their own, but it does my head in A good heated debate is one thing but constant petty comments and whinging is another!! Aye, they would.
  20. I've not had a shite for a while.
