  1. Yeah I'll take anything thanks, drop me a PM! I'll check out those reccomendations, see the thing I was worried about when I began to look for historical books was that the authors would have skewed it to their biases as you say. Who is the least skewy historian? Sorry, keep forgetting about this. I like Roberts as a European historian and I've dug out one of his books covering 1860-1945 which I'll send along but you might have to put up with some of my dodgy annotations. I'll send you a PM in a bit.
  2. Gloom, I'm getting an exercise bike to couple with running and drumming to shift some weight and generally stay healthier and trimmer so wouldn't mind any assistance with exercise plans or even diet tips. Looking to cook more food over next year but have no idea where to start besides "not eating a load of shit"
  3. Also, Obertan shouldn't be considered in HBA discussions because his form has no bearing on HBA's selection. Discussion should be based around Best/Vuckic/whoever plays there and their form. But on that basis, Ben Arfa should be starting but there must be a solid reason why he isn't.
  4. Excellent eloquent wumming. They all do a Bendtner; live in the toon and smash it to bits on Friday nights.
  5. Did he come out and say owt about starting Vuckic? Usually, he's alright at this sort of thing.
  6. They're welcome to a run of form. Every other aspect of the club is regressive from transfer policy to their manager
  7. Obertan was good first half at OT. Dont know why he was taken off
  8. Who gives a bollock about Sunderland? They'll amount to fuck all because they're only bothered about us.
  9. A month of poor form and injuries is not unique to NUFC. If that cover comes in, we'll sew 7th up IMO. If not, 8th-10th is a good finish. Not sure you can say "is this all we're aiming for?"after a season and a half back, in which we've made nothing but progress.
  10. I think Football Manager has just got to Norway. As has football Whats this about that Finnish kid?
  11. I didn't realise Des Hamilton was here until 2002 (I believe)
  12. Best thing about Barton getting sent off was everyone retweeting his high and mighty tweets about violence and not being a "helmet" in 2012
  13. 12 hours of hitting drums, clarting speakers and amps from pub to pub, another 6 hours of it today. Happy new year, i'm fucked
  14. That honestly couldn't have been more perfect
  15. Like when we went to Old Trafford and Etihad and played for the wins you mean? Sorry your memory only lasts 2 games.
  16. Obviously there's a larger number of factors on display other than just basic league finishes but I'm interested to see what people consider a successful progression this year.
  17. Steven Taylor (or indeed a centre half of his ilk) has been a massive miss.
  18. If this kid makes a bad post, it must be greeted with "nimbo cumulus" and the closure of the board.
  19. Neutral end has plenty left i think. Me and some pals are going down for it
  20. Atm, as Ben Arfa is adjusting to not only the league but recovering from injuries, he'll only be effective in games we have stretched sides or are exploitin space. Liverpool were too well drilled with regards to pressure for him to have an impact today.
  21. Jonas looks absolutely knackered IMO. Works harder than anyone else so its no surprise.
  22. Thought that was tactically shocking. Vuckic was stuck between stations in his role and not intelligent or experienced enough to influence a tight first half. Their wing play was far better than ours and exploited our full back's deficincies. Ba was a lonely figure, showed why he often needs Best when we're in that set-up. Any sort of assistance pressuring would have actually improved our performance. Cabaye was lucky not to walk despite Spearing's reckless lunge. Tiote was playing our centre halves into trouble with his short lay offs. Looks like he's playing for a move
