I think we're golden. City's annual report is out and i found this buried deep inside... -
we had therapy costs of our own. pretty sure Barton stubbed a cigar out in a City youth players eye. so i doubt we fought to keep him from going to you. just your average scouser

I used to dread heading the ball. especially if someones dad had "fixed" a mates ball at some point using some old laces. leaving a massive knot. -
Joey kept us in the PL. If not for him the Sheikh may have gone elsewhere (or bought us for less). I'll be kind and say he had a spark.
-
there has been some youth movement between city and united so there's no animosity. i suspect they know that we're circumstance allies in the premier league. i thought we signed Distin from PSG. In fairness you have made good use of one of our academy products in Kieran Trippier But i must apologize for Joey Barton. He left us for you as he wanted to win trophies. Terrible timing Joey lol.. Poor sap was on the pitch when we beat QPR 3-2 to win the PL too. shame.
-
i'll take that as a compliment. probably worth adding that you'd get more for him in january than you would in the summer. the ol' january premium.
-
oops didn't to start a civil war
-
not many players have moved directly between city and united. Shay Given, Joey Barton, Antoine Sibierski, Steve Howey. think that's it for players i remember. probably a fair few kids. but they were before our owners were from rival countries. a few others have played for both clubs i reckon, like Peter Beardsley, James Milner and Andy Cole

oh i've noticed. i think all blues have.

sorry simply liking this wasn't enough. sombre work mood completely broken into pmsl.

to be honest, post Rodri i reset my hopes for City this year to CL qualification. I'm not greedy. After all, once upon a time that was the dream.
-
No to be honest i just completely forgot about him then i googled you're best 3 this year and literally thought "oh fuck they're not going to let me get away with forgetting him" Do i need to contact Lord Pannick to sort my defense? Nah i'll do it myself. I'm very nearly 60 and my memory, along with many other things, is shot.

This could end up like "What have the Romans ever done for us?"
-
oh, Gordon?
-
wasn't meant to be cheeky. I would guess Bruno, Isak annnnd Tonali? but i don't watch you guys week in week out.
-
does he track back?

i'm really unsure about january. we have a huge war chest. only brighton have more psr leeway i think. but i think players are too expensive right now. Our new director of football Hugo Viana might have some interesting summer ideas. I'd keep the war chest for him . In peps first season, the full backs were the issue. we splashed money across the back line and improved massively. We can see a similar vulnerability now. I've always said hit us with pace and directness and we're vulnerable. and i believe that is showing this season. I think we'll have a defensive rebuild. who are the other two? i'm guessing Isak and ?
-
short term, long term too, City need both a 6 and an 8. our 6, Rodri out for the season and probably needs help anyway. our 8, Gundogan is done. his legs have gone since his return from a season at barcelona. our other 8 Kovacic is injury prone andno spring chicken. Our midfield needs a complete rebuild. KDB is playing with a hernia and his best years are surely gone. Gundogan, Kovacic, Kalvin Philips, Nunes either never were or are no longer Pep standard. That just leaves Rodri as a genuine midfielder. Even our defence needs a rebuild. We sang Ederson & Ake, Walker & Akanji, Ruben Dias, Johnny Stones. Best defence in europe, we're manchester city, on our way to istanbul . Of that list only Ederson hasn't missed at least a chunk of the season (and he's been dropped for form) yeah i know you don't care. So Bruno.... He might not be the solution we need but if our board think they can get him without weeks of haggling then i can see it. He definitely has the quality but is he a fit? Can't see us going over 80. Not even sure we'd go 70 if he's only seen as a stopgap. In terms of City players being involved in any deal, i can't see who as we're so short on numbers. Bobb is injured and a prize asset (supposedly the reason we let Palmer go). McAtee is rubbish so you wouldn't want him. Maybe the academy. Emile Heskeys boys are highly thought of? I don't know. I think we're funked. Claudio Echeverri arrives January 1st. Maybe he's our answer. ps only raised this as the press seem to be linking him. opposition view and all that.
-
seems to be quite a bit of stuff about Bruno's form. and the various reasons for that. Two quick questions. At his best what do you think his value is? What about his value on current form? ps. I haven't paid enough attention to be aware he had dipped. Only ask as over on bluemoon some see him as a stopgap for our injury issues. Where is he at his best? No idea if you would sell or if we're interested btw.

In case you guys care Stefan has commented on the new post APT Tribunal PL Rules which are out following FA Board approval. https://x.com/slbsn/status/1866615520017125485 In short. The PL rules on APTs go back to those from before February 2024 and various extra rules are included so that shareholder loans (any loan from a direct or indirect 5%+ shareholder) now have to carry a fair market interest rate and cost. And as nowhere seems to be carrying a link to the rules yet, not even the PL website. Here's a link to the revised handbook itself Premier League Handbook as released on 10th December I know it's dull but probably affects you guys too. -
they're all forgetting about manchester united's masterplan they'll probably try an nick Hugo Viana from us
