  1. Oh we have the same on bluemoon. I suspect every forum has them. We had stand up or sit down for a pee in the 115 charges thread not so long ago.
  2. I get that. But then I wouldn't swap him for Pep either. I want Pep to stay forever. Be interesting to see how Eddie would do with City's squad and City's budget.
  3. Oooh, he was great for us too. You never knew, week to week if you would win 4-0 or lose 0-4. the only thing you could be sure of was goals.
  4. was just a curious thought. you'd get a new manager, maybe Iraola, maybe Klopp. maybe Santo, maybe Frank plus compensation and a fresh direction. (although i don't think you need one)
  5. Finding the best way to feed Haaland has long been an issue for City. For me you just throw herring into his holding pen, jobs a good un. Big Sam would have us pumping crosses in. Pep doesn't seem to be a fan of crosses as they concede possession. I'd be pumping long balls to him whenever a team tries to press us.
  6. He's said he wouldn't manage any other club in England so you'd have to leave the PL and join a ESL to have a chance.
  7. here's one i'd like to know the answer too. not triggered by any itk info, just my curiousity If Pep left in the summer and City came in for Eddie Howe. How would you feel? Who would be getting the better deal? Would he be a success? Would you be getting an unexpected opportunity? edit: oh and would Eddie move?
  8. Absolutely. you offer me problems like these 40 years ago i'd have snapped your hand off and you wouldn't be getting it back. City have the kind of problems that supports of 80+ other clubs would love to have. But it's all relative.
  9. I suspect he might go straight in as 1st choice right back. Walker gone, Stones unreliable, Rico not trusted there, Matheus Nunes a temporary fix at best. Vitor Reis might have to wait a little longer for his debut but injuries might dictate we see him sooner than later too. Also your board might have thought they could go for him in the summer. No one would have reasonably guessed that City would go on a defender spending spree. Oh and i agree, PSR is well bent. Scrap domestic ffp and psr. Instead lean on UEFA's ffp so only the top 6 or so get affected, and keeps us on an even keel with european clubs. plus a new domestic psr that doesn't care where the money is from just as long as a clubs stability can be shown. is that not what profit and sustainability actually means?
  10. You really think we're capable of beating a champions league team on a 19 game unbeaten domestic run whilst maintaining a top 4 challenge what sort of optimistic glass half full nut do you think i am?
  11. It's a weird one as he obviously prolific but he's made us more predictable. You never used to know where the threat was coming from. Now it's obvious. On the other hand we won the treble in his first season so i can live with that. Think it's actually down to Pep to try and figure out. Big Erl doesn't really seem a Pep type forward but he'll be there a lot longer than Pep now so maybe we need big Sam next to play the percentages for him (not really). God help everyone else if Pep figures out how to maximise Haaland. Haaland is our Shearer. Bleeds blue. Maybe we should have switched Haaland for a midfielder at 2-0 last night, but we're a bit short in midfield. Nice problems to have.
  12. If Liverpool's organic growth can be "kick started" with Littlewoods money i don't see why City's organic growth can't be considered to have been "kick started" by a few barrels of oil.
  13. Weirdly i'm quite relaxed about the Pep free future. We'll bring in a top manager of that i'm sure. The new manager might trust the youth a bit more. Maybe we keep the next Cole Palmer. We have an excellent stadium and facilities and a good budget. We're part of a large football group. So that side of things should be good. Also we're now in an era where young players don't always remember Man United winning the league. Life is good if a little turbulent right now. Oh and i've long thought quick counter attacks were the way to beat us. It seems we're no longer press resistant which is a shame.
  14. Got this from a fellow City fan... City's spending is reflecting their commercial success and income generated by success on the field - league titles, CL, club world cup. Organic and based on a history of success as the rags and dippers like to say. Bit of a bold one, but i'm going with it.
  15. i don't want to appear shallow but there was a significant cup size increase. i had no choice.
  16. to be fair i had a girlfriend but if i hadn't then yeah
  17. Sounds like Newcastle were in the running for Khusanov but that timing and FFP played it's part https://x.com/City_Xtra/status/1882386659100016928
  18. Both me and City have a looong history of being human. We all knew it would come to an end its just astounding how quickly we fell of the cliff. Feels a bit like the days after me and the first wife separated.
  19. Watching City now reminds me of watching Dr Who as a kid. Peeking through my fingers from behind the sofa as the Sea Devils emerged onto the beach
  20. Last night was typical of City over the last few months. We have no legs in midfield, which is emphasized by Rodri's absence. This was an issue last season too but Rodri masked it, Gundogan's return has made it worse. We have major defensive issues, yes Stones returned for a few minutes last night but that's countered by Dias getting injured. Hopefully the 2 new defenders hit the ground running. Khusanov looks a monster. Supposedly very quick and hits like a train. It's been said that he's too quick for his own good so i see a few reds for him. Reis looks very intelligent. Both of them only 6ft1 though. Omar Marmoush looks the dogs bollocks, Wonder if he's KDB replacement. Apparently he can play as an 8 and all across the front, but prefers behind the striker. Our biggest problem is we've lost our control. Treble winning season we had Grealish and Bernado on the wings and they never gave the ball away. Now we have Doku and Savinho who give the ball away for fun. Next league games are Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, Spurs, Forest. I think we're cooked.
  21. i laid a trap with United(h) and i fell into it too
  22. I'm too laid back to panic mate. as an example when i was younger and renting flats in London, it was the day i was due to move out and i had nowhere to move to. so at lunchtime i went and got a local paper and started looking for somewhere new to live. found one and was moved in a few hours later.
  23. You definitely need to win this one to take advantage of City hosting Chelsea, Our next 6 PL games are Chelsea(h), Arsenal(a), United(h), Liverpool(h), Spurs(a), Forest(a). City of the last few months could lose all those. the easiest fixture is probably spurs who, in the midst of their losing streak, hammered us.
  24. Turns out the figure for AK45 is 33m, as usual the price goes up for City plus January rates. Given our necessity i'm happy enough. He's a bit young and raw and looks to have a few sendings off in him. at 6ft1 he's no giant but looks to make up for it with heart. Hopefully Vitor Reis and Marmoush this week and maybe Douglas Luiz comes home.
