  1. Agree although they seem more poorly researched than dodgy. Another is the OKX deal, getting into a crypto-exchange sponsorship just as the whole thing starts to unravel.
  2. we make a lot simply by bringing lots of kids into the academy and then selling them on with buy back clauses or sale percentages. the latest example being the 10m we get from pedro porro going to spurs. that's how we funded jack grealish. we're not the most marketable but our sponsors get CFG wide exposure making them much more attractive than they otherwise might be. The CFG has clubs all over the world now. The etihad deal is coming to an end soon. it will be interesting to see how our next deal shapes up. again i'm curious as to which deals you speak of.
  3. there were similar statements at the time of the champions league ban. that turned out okay. i do think there is something in the mancini Al Jazira payments, especially as its a fairly common thing for clubs to do. as i remember it the rules were initially to stop clubs getting themselves into debt they couldn't handle and going into administration, they then morphed into ffp when city started to spend.
  4. If true, the Mancini story should be fairly easy to prove. Secret payments from Al Jazira football club. Also If its true that we've fought the investigation, i can't really blame us. It's a witch hunt led by Arsenal and others. What really irks me though is the fact that our owners have pumped money into the club leading to the regeneration of a whole sector of Manchester, building sports facilities and student accommodation etc, where as the Glazers have siphoned money out of Man United. Tell me again who's owners are better for football.
  5. No the fine that we got had nothing to do with that infamous sponsorship deal. We were fined solely for non co-operation. By todays standards the Etihad sponsorship of Man City is not even that good a great deal. The sponsorship deal has been renegotiated 3 or 4 times and is currently worth around 67m per season. But that's not the amount that was criticised. I believe the amount has been scaled over the duration of the contract but i'm no expert. It was mooted to be 400m over 10years. An average of 40m per season. Arsenal are on about 65m for their Emirates deal. I think Liverpool are on about 50m. Spurs are on in excess of 40m too.
  6. I know you're not having a go but what makes you say that our finances were "dodgy as fuck"? Is there some evidence out there, or is it just hear say? I've yet to hear of it. You can bet if there was evidence it would have been made very public by lots of people.
  7. And the social media frenzy has begun but here's my favourite so far ....
  8. in other news, the lawyers that represent us are set to become our new shirt sponsor.
  9. that's exactly why so many say "we got away with it". But the fine was essentially for not co-operating in a timely manner. It was €10m for breaching Article 56 which concerns co-operation and has nothing to do with financial misdemeanours We felt we were being persecuted unfairly, especially as we didn't contest the earlier fine and squad restriction as infantino supposedly led us to believe a line had been drawn under it. Even if we are cleared of these charges people will still say we're cheats because mud sticks.
  10. maybe total acquittal was a tad over zealous ( it was posted by a city fan after all ) but the only thing we were found guilty of was dragging our feet. I wouldn't expect it to be unanimous given that uefa appointed one of the judges. whilst I do expect these charges to be more difficult to combat than the eufa ones, i still think we will be cleared. But what fan ever truly knows. ps you'll have to excuse me for letting others some that document up for me, its huge.
  11. After the CAS judgement I remember someone saying it was akin to being cleared of a murder charge but being fined for resisting arrest. This feels similar with a large number of charges making it look more materially serious but actually none of them being individually that bad. The non-compliance charge is the one that counts. That is the stick to beat us with. You still hear people saying ‘non-compliance means you have something to hide’ even after the CAS said clearly that no inference should be drawn from it. Even after a total acquittal by CAS that is still used as a sign of guilt. It worked once, why not try it again? I believe that Arsenal are at the centre of this. The original request to investigate by a number of premier league clubs including you guys was supposedly submitted on Arsenal headed paper !! I believe that this investigation has a high ranking arsenal fan involved too. White american owners don't like middle east arab money. As i remember it, they were changing the ffp rules as they went along at the beginning. ( ... taken from our forum )
  12. chance would be a fine thing. closest i've ever got to that is a mate who borrowed some black season tickets for arsenal. it was in the new stadium and was very cosy. that was a one off though. i could probably blag you some tickets for the underground at a good price.
  13. We blues see this too. We're so used to playing with a false 9 and now that we have a half decent one we don't know how to play with one. I think we're in for a major makeover in the summer. An actual left back would be a nice start.
  14. I work from home but have a rare face to face meeting with our MD and 2 other guys this week. Annoyingly 2 of them are spurs fans and the other is a gooner. nightmare timing.
  15. I didn't wear my lucky pants so fair enough
  16. Have to admit I've done the maths for us and 5th place too. no-one has a right to win.
  17. I love Pep too. He's entertaining and different. At least he was different until the Pep clones.
  18. Kev has been out of form, lots of stray passes even if he still has the killer pass in his locker.
  19. has me nervous too. but we did something similar against them a few weeks back. and went 2 down before the worryingly habitual comeback. we haven't scored at their new stadium yet so theres that. injuries, especially to john stones and the out of form phil foden don't help. just look at the bench for confirmation of the injury front. thats the problem with a small squad. no cancelo doesnt help, but what can you do when a player squares up to the manager? right nearly time to go hide behind the sofa like an old dr who episode. positives might be alvarez work rate and a cameo from Max Peroni
  20. Agree about Gallagher. There are rumours that we're in for Maddison now too. New rumours at that. Maybe its a sign that our pursuit of Bellingham is failing. But i don't know or care. I just love not having to hold my breath until we get 40 points every year.
  21. thought i'd share this from one of our bluemoon threads. no ulterior motive, its just interesting. quite proud of our net spend but i'd rather we spent money like chelsea. our net spend is so good thanks to our player sales. premier-league-last-5-seasons-transfer
  22. Love trips to Wembley. As a blue we normally get the side where the Green Man pub is. A few tinnys on the green patch of ground nearby, near a couple of offies. then if we have any tinnies left hide them in someones garden whilst we sneak in the back of the green man (unless we're early enough to make the main door). All easy for me as i live in south london.
  23. you learn not to care about dress sense
  24. ah Joey Barton, left Man City in search of silverware. Then got sent off for QPR to help City to the title
  25. sounds like he'd be just as good in nets as he would anywhere else.
