I am genuinely curious here. Surely you can now see that Gordon is a massive upgrade on ASM? I can see the upset with ASM going, when the takeover happened, I thought he would be the only player capable of staying. When we signed Pope, I didn't understand why and, at the time, I was not convinced he was better than Dubravka. Now, I have no doubts who is the better player, even if Pope does have the odd awkward moment with the ball at his feet.

What is going on with Wilson? Odd comments by Howe before the game e.g. 'not really injured'. He spent a lot summer at the training ground trying to get to full fitness. Something just doesn't seem to add up. He isn't in the celebration photos when the likes of Trippier are. Not after a conspiracy just wonder what is holding him back.

Has he came back after months? It is the first time I am not 100% convinced he is a Mackem. -
Just had a look at some of the comments on Howe's starting line up on Twitter. It blows my mind. Sometimes it is probably best for some people not to be able to post on line. You would have thought he had put himself up front. It really confuses me that people like this exist. Where do they live? Do they work? Is this like a keyboard warrior problem or do they behave like this in the real world? Baffling.

Just shows that we are on the right track. A few of us fans have been losing our heads this season but we are 10 games in and 3 points off 3rd place (maybe 5 points). I really hope that we have a few players lined up for January. Good to see Howe be able to shuffle a few players in and out over the last 3 games.

I think there is a massive disparity between playing 90 minutes at International level as there is to playing 90 minutes at Premier League Level. Styles of play are vastly different and demand different levels from the body.

I think we are just in a transitional period right now and it is difficult to face. Problem is that we are in the transition at board level as well as the playing staff. I love Schar but he is ageing which is why Howe looked for the replacement in the summer. Burn was never bought to be a first team player- he wasn't even a first team player at Brighton. The midfield seems to be suffering from the weakness behind it which then impacts on the top as well. I think Howe is still getting more out of the players than we saw before the takeover. People may say that is not hard, but it is also hard to measure. I am interested to see what happens in January. I would be shocked to see Howe go. Things are not going well but likewise it can be seen how much difference there would be with two competent (due to age) cbs in the team. We are still at a point where most of Man City's or Chelsea's second team would start for us. The fourth place finish shows what happens when things swing your way and, to be honest, if a few things had went our way we would be further up the table now. -

How much time did that take to give? If it is that hard, it is a bloody goal. -
I just don't understand that fantasy. What is wrong with them imagining winning the lottery. Maybe Sunderland winning the Premier League, it is a fantasy, why not say the Champions league? Maybe bumping into you celebrity crush and marrying them. I don't know. I don't really spend much time with fantasies, but surely that is bizarre. I don't get why I would want to see a family from Sunderland tooting their horn at some sheep.

I guess a keeper wouldn't have the opportunity to produce the same level of performance as Gordon did yesterday. I also don't think a keeper does always get the blame in a situation like that. It is normally the defence that get the criticism for forcing them to have an amazing game and be in the position to make the errors. I am thinking of how me and many others viewed Dubravka.

I find Pickford an odd one as he doesn't seem to be as bad when he plays for England. I do wonder if it has something to do with the clubs he has played for and where he is from. Sunderland with the biggest chip on his shoulder then Everton who seem to somehow be worse. Maybe that is a step too far. When Henderson left Sunderland, he went to somewhere normal. Maybe that is why he doesn't come across the same way.
