Dunno man, like I said I've got four. There's plenty moments where I've considered just trying to drown them out with feedback through a half-stack and just sitting down with a book. Makes sense like, maybe do it the other way around though. Buy the standard and send it back if you prefer the one you've already got. Otherwise, keep it and flip the expensive one. Avoids any potential for regret over selling something.

Crystal Phallus v Graeme Jones’ still shite but rich doylems
Blastronaut replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm probably reading too much into that alleged quote from Jones, but is that basically just a weirdly worded admission that he was brought in the first place to oversee tactics and maintain or improve standards, and didn't his arrival roughly coincide with Bruce's weird "gloves are off now, now we're doing things my way" comment. No fucking wonder folk are talking about Bruce in the comments, that whole tweet suggests Jones has had the final say on tactics and maintaining training standards since he came in. -

Bet he still joins in for a kick about with 10 year olds and then fucks off home in a strop with the ball when he gets nutmegged. -
Fuck sake you had me going there. I only scanned over that video with my usual Guinness and whisky induced glaze but thought for a second you were about to remortgage yer house for a pedal you already own.

Those miniature Marshall stacks are cool and good fun and all that but those tiny speakers are headache inducing after 10 or 15 minutes. Same with the Pignose really. The speakers are essentially what the hifi world would call tweeters, just all high end and gets a bit fatiguing pretty quickly. If you keep your eye on pawn shops or gumtree marketplace you should be able to score something basic with a 8-10" speaker for less than £20-40 that would be a bit more rewarding long term (for him like, not you or your neighbours). I'll gladly send down a st distortion pedal for the cost of postage to get him started if you go that route, not like I'm short of this stuff. If you'd rather force him down the headphone route you can pick up guitar to USB adapters and have him plug into a laptop or iPad or whatever and run with "virtual" Amps and effects. Not how I would roll but I know a few guys that sold all their retro gear and do everything at home through a PC. Thought you already had a Fuzz Factory?

Keep encouraging him man. The apps are probably fine for tuning tbh, they only really shit the bed when there's a lot of background noise. Tom's probably right about the bar too, more hassle than they're worth until you know what you're doing. Good to see new recruits coming through. None my four have taken any interest so far, to them its just one of dads sad nostalgic hobbies.

Yass! Love the reverse headstock. Assuming your not on the wind up, to cut a long story short the five way switch selects which combination of the three pickups you're using and the extra control is a tone control that essentially rolls off treble. Not sure about the bar tbh, some of them slot in and click and others screw into place. Only other advice I've got: get Fist Jr a copy of Ride the Lightning if you haven't already.

If you're in Leith be sure to check out the birthplace of one of our greatest forwards, Leigh Griffith's. One of a kind structure, the worlds only portaloo that's also a listed building.

That ehm....actually would make a lot of sense.

Im not meaning to have a pop at anyone like, just slightly frustrated that everything Ginola said in that moment seems to have went unnoticed.
-
That fairly uncalled for like. He makes a good point, the outcome was positive we probably shouldn't dwell on it. I'm only arguing that people should be taking more notice of what David Ginola was saying when play was suspended. Haven't heard anyone else mention it. The players on the park were clearly looking for a similar response to Erikson at the Euros and it (for obvious reasons) wasn't anywhere close. Im not trying to blame any medical staff, just hoped there would be more of a discussion over cardiac arrest and how we can all be more equipped to deal with them. They don't just happen to out of shape idle layabouts and the faster the response the more likely that person doesn't die.
-
Maybe it shouldn't take 22 premier League players collectively downing tools and appealing for medicals professionals to get a defibrillator to someone having a heart attack in the stands.
-
Fuck off with that patter. Missed the point entirely and clearly not read the quote about David Ginola's experience.
-
I get the point you're making, it's just hard not to wonder if the medical professionals would've got there had the on field players not reacted the way they did.
-
Bet that screenshot was taken when it was still 1-0.
-
Thought the same like even just watching on tv. Think it was the club doctor with the defibrillator, stood on the sidelines looking about himself waiting for instructions or permission to cross the pitch. The only real urgency seemed to come from the players and fair fucking play to them. Can't help but wonder if that defibrillator would've made it across the stadium had they not all downed tools and let everyone know there was an emergency in the stands.
-
I'm honestly no trying to bring you all down here after that momentus occasion, just surprised there's no been a word for Ginola's brutal insight: (paraphrasing here) "hopefully they've just saved that person's life. Im lucky to be still be here. Learn some fucking basic first aid please". From Wikipedia: "In the afternoon of 19 May 2016, Ginola was playing a charity football match at the home of Jean-Stéphane Camerini (the organiser of the Mapauto Golf Cup) in Mandelieu-la-Napoule in the southeast of France when he suddenly collapsed due to cardiac arrest and then fell into a coma. He was administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the pitch by fellow footballer Frédéric Mendy. Minutes later, a team of medics who had arrived in an ambulance used a defibrillator on him; it took five shocks from the machine to restore normal heart rhythm within 10 minutes. Ginola was airlifted minutes later by a helicopter to the Cardiothoracic Center of Monaco 40 km northeast of Mandelieu, where he underwent an immediate, six-hour, operation. Professor Gilles Dreyfus, who operated on Ginola, said that were it not for Mendy who administered CPR on him, he would be dead or suffer permanent brain damage."
-
Aye, definitely better than being sat on your own like but being lost in a sea of 50,000 folk it could easily have went the other way. If it was a cardiac arrest, that defibrillator might not have made it over in time had the players not stopped play and it would've been way more chaotic to try to administer chest compressions.
-
Glad to hear this like. Huge fucking credit to the players (both sides) for noticing there was an issue, quite possible the outcome wouldn't have been so positive otherwise. Ginola openly chatting about his own experience during the break really fucking hit me like a ton of bricks. Anyone who has ever lost someone to a cardiac arrest has surely wondered if a faster and more educated response might have saved them.

Other Games 21/22: Talk about Actual Football

Aye that was my point like, a dead novelty octopus would still be my preferred choice. -

I follow part-timers in the 4th teir and wouldn't want Bruce as manager even if he took the job on a voluntary basis and handed out a free pie and pint to all the home support at halftime. I'd honestly rather we took Jocky Scott back or gave the management job to that Octopus that used to predict world cup outcomes. -

Is Bruce touted for the Brentford job like? -
I was just about to chime in with this bit you beat me to it. Definitely worth a punt those. A lot of "boutique" pedal builders are like the DFS of the guitar world. "Give us a grand up front and it will be ready in 12 weeks. Those cushions on the display model are a £500 optional extra and take an extra fortnight".
-
My fucking thoughts exactly.
-
No kneejerk decisions and an unexpectedly standoff attitude actually makes a lot of sense from the new owners. Honestly get the feeling they might just be keeping Bruce around just long enough to be sure exactly who else from heirarchy needs to go with him. Football aside, one thing I've learned about shit managers: the ones that somehow stay in jobs against all odds are usually held up by a string of allies on either side of the chain. Even if he's the source, Bruce could well have other allies still at the club who could continue the rot if they're not also removed.
