  1. Those bets scream "total shitebag" tbf like. One win double and one draw/place double might've been respectable.
  2. There's not much that boils my blood as much as having to go collect parcels from the depot, but then folk usually only send me effects pedals when they're broken. That and our local depot is a good mile and a half from any decent pubs.
  3. I honestly expected something like those Marshall Micro Stacks or Danelectro Honey tone things (which would've been fine and did exactly the job I needed it for) but it's great fun and a step above some of the other shit in the £40 amp market. Hats off to Orange. Obviously cant rival a 12" speaker and it shits the bed a bit on low frequencies if I'm tuned lower than D but its a step above the other £40 tiny amps I've bought and built. I'll probably have it ripped apart within a few weeks to see what poweramp chip it's running. 3w RMS at 8ohms from a 9v battery, my money is on it being a car-stereo type chip but fuck knows.
  4. Aye I just picked it up for testing stuff on the workbench. Didn't expect much but it's actually excellent for what it is.
  5. Speaking of Orange amps I went mad last week and splashed out on this absolute unit.
  6. Its cool that in the space of a few posts you've gone from being a proud and devoted right winger to arguing that it shouldn't be a binary arguement, even going as far as to distance yourself from the right. This whole thread has been a fascinating insight into how you think which is much more interesting that hearing what you think.
  7. Is that Germany? Those must've been some fucking nice socks. I send stuff all over the world using Royal Mail and only ever run into delays like that at Chicago customs. Never had anyone get hit with customs charges for anything worth less than £100 (that I'm aware of, at least). On a more serious note though, you should be grateful. I just got alcohol for Christmas. Had to go out my way to buy my own fucking socks this year.
  8. Bit unfair to Ireland as a whole but entirely believable for Co. Mayo.
  9. I think he saw it coming decades ago. Could swear I can remember him describing his brother as "Extreme Christian, extreme conservative and a bit like a British Rush Limbaugh".
  10. Off the back of Peter Hitchens recent comments that 10 years of Starmer would make Boris' reign look like a golden era, I can't help but wonder what his late brother would have to say about the last 10 years of political events both here and across the pond.
  11. Punching down at minorities aside, it's just a shit joke. A good punchline should fairly unexpected, could see that coming a mile off. Think Jimmy might need Frankie Boyle writing for him again.
  12. You've missed out on nothing with Westfield, they were a Scottish distributor in the 90s that sourced cheap guitars from the Far-East and stamped their name on it. Most of it was shite tbh.
  13. Fuck it I'll humour you. Headstock carve looks a bit off and there's a zero-fret. Looks a bit fake but would need to see a bit more of the body to say for sure.
  14. That's a bargain for that tbf. I was assuming two or three grand. I'd sooner try carving one out of an old door. Firebird is awkward as fuck like. I think they carved the body from a railway sleeper, but the neck actually plays really well after a bit of work and the mini-humbuckers are a bit different from anything else I've got. Mostly just hangs on the wall and gathers dust though. Lucked out for £80 but I think they'd misspelled Firebird on the eBay listing and I probably wouldn't have bought it sober. Definitely looks and feels like a Westfield up close.
  15. That's a nice lump of wood. I really like a Les Paul but think I've been converted to SGs now that my back is fucked. Saying that I've never owned a "real" (Gibson) one of either on account of being a tight bastard. Wouldn't hold a candle to your LP but the nicest looking rosewood fretboard I've got kicking around is an old Westfield Firebird that arrived by surprise in the post after I'd overdone the Johnnie Walker. Something almost hypnotic about the grain (woodgrain I mean, but probably equally applies to the drink).
  16. Easy there hmhm. For what it's worth I don't have a dog in that fight and wasn't trying to stir up any shit, just thought it was a great game of football on a night there was fuck all else worth watching. We're no all mad bigots up here.
  17. I'd normally agree, just seems relevant here given that opinion across the whole country here is that Celtic did well to make a total bollocks of getting in Eddie Howe and take a gamble on the fat Australian bloke. I'll get my coat.
  18. Back on more important matters, I'm having a hard time believing only three folk here watched Wednesdays old firm.
  19. Aaah fuck is this a test? I'm an unashamed Pantera fan (actually I take that back, I'm very ashamed and still working through all the stages of grief) but in the Crybaby stakes this is probably a close second favourite behind the Jerry Cantrell signature. That said, I couldnt use a wah properly if my life depended on it and rarely ever use one but still love them.
  20. All the best to you and yours man, sorry for your loss. Echoing what others have said I hope you're doing okay and able to grieve in your own way and in your own time.
  21. Honestly this probably the most I've paid attention to the SPL in my whole life, it's been great to follow this season. Quite a lot riding on it too with automatic Champions League qualification back on the cards for the winner.
  22. Youse could probably be doing with Jota and Ange Postecoglu n'all.
  23. Should be a decent game but I doubt it'll have that level of drama tbh. Im sure Strathclyde Police will still have a busier than usual Wednesday night regardless of the result.
  24. Old firm about to get started if anyone's really bored with the English winter break. First late kick-off since the shame game 11 years ago.
