Im obviously biased but genuinely thought it was an intriguing tactical battle. Tactically England were delightfully shite, the USA were the better team and completely deserved their 0-0 win.
-
Probably the most entertaining 0-0 I've seen since we beat you by the same score in the last Euros.
-
That thing in his hands is doing some really weird things to his face.
-
Aye thought it would be something like that. Works out at betting £20 at less than 15/1 and not even getting to know what you've bet on until after the result is in. That's no a sweepstake, it's roulette that pays half the price.

Weird Tuesday in November where you can't even be surprised at Jason Cummings making the bench for Australia in a WC game against France given that Matty Cash started for Poland and Saudi Arabia beat Argentina earlier in the day.
-
That fair, but if there's £300 in it for the winner and a "decent amount of cash" for three runners up you'd need be paying £15-£20 a ticket which works out really shite odds for a game of Schroedinger's Envelope.

Hate to be pedantic (actually that's a lie) but f it's a blind sweepstake surely that's 1 in 32, unless only 8 folk participated and all got 4 envelopes each. Doesnae really sound like a great plan to draw in punters for the final if they could only get 8 folk to participate in the sweepstake.

I couldn't tell if he was erect but he at least looked upright for most of the game.

Speaking of Adebisi Shank, Lar was an absolute wizard when it came to guitar pedal insanity. Pretty sure he was mad for the line6 stuff and Id be amazed if he's not on the Helix bandwagon, whatever he's doing now.
-
Just looked that up out of curiosity. Sounds exactly like Adebisi Shank. 👍

Ah fuck aye that's a good point. Dunno where my head was at. So close to the answer. You're right, actually it makes perfect sense.
-
Aye I don't get it. Why the fuck are cross-bred dogs frowned upon in a country where inbred Royals are celebrated?
-
This might explain why they've been testing the old air raid sirens more regularly than usual up my neck of the woods. Used to just dismiss it as just someone going "fucking hell a hundred year old air raid siren? Does it still work?" but I'm getting increasingly more concerned about the the implications of living halfway between Faslane and Grangemouth. You lads and lassies in the NE will be the new Scotland. Hardrian's Wall will be replaced with a moat that runs northwest from Edinburgh. Edinburgh will somehow remain intact but become flooded with even more insufferable cunts.
-
Aye. At least explore it as an option. I grew up with a border collie as the family pet, local farmer just cast the poor thing aside because she was too lazy to round up sheep. The dug was probably smarter than me to be fair. Just slept all day and ignored everyone until someone said "walk". Even then half the time she would look at you in a way that said "sound. You go for your walk, prick. I'm quite happy here"

Just build/buy a bigger board man! Paul Gilberts homemade pedalboard is fucking hilarious but if that's good enough for him it's good enough for anyone. Mines are all loosely inspired by the IKEA pedalboard hack and it's probably the only area I think I've got the upper hand on Gilbert. Good to see you're still getting use out the RM, genuinely would be interested to see how it compares. Boosts are still too underrated if you ask me.
-
I like him and genuinely hope the English National Team stick by him. He's eveything Courtois isn't.
-
That's a decent shout tbf but those books usually run to at least 200% and aren't worth a punt. Guaranteed Postecoglu and Van Bronkhorst will be up amongst the false favourites.
-
If we ignore the mention of Basset Hounds the only thing that ruined that for me was the word "socks".
-
Aye. Telly is off, the Newcastle game and anything else that mattered finished hours ago man.
-
Ah fuck, the more I read about it the more I think I might want one. This is a shite state of affairs. How's the "Deranged Master" patch compare to your Rangemaster? Don't hold back like I'll no take offence. I'd expect at least a lower noise floor and wouldn't be surprised if they've tamed it a bit so it's slightly less bright than stock Rangemaster treble frequencies (which I think everyone bar maybe Brian May modded theirs to).

Seen this that answers my question on how it handles Fuzz Face clean-up, fucking hell that quite impressive. Think this is the full Helix rather than the stomp though. Bit surprised looking at the list @Tom posted that there's no real Tonebender patches. Somebody needs to start a petition to get at least the mk1 and 2 added. Would've expected to see the Super Fuzz and Tone Machine, but I'll let them off with the SF since I'm sure the Boss is 90% the same thing. Other than that it looks a pretty nice collection of fuzz modes and if there all as decent as this FF demo they've knocked it out the park.
-
Like I say, I honestly think the impedance thing is pretty overblown. In the analogue world it mostly only rears its head if someone wants to put a univibe or something in front of a fuzz face. Otherwise just put the FF first and be done with it. Tone suck is mostly something else like cable capacitance, either from having 20 true-bypass pedals in a chain or just insanely long guitar leads. Usually you can just stick a buffer in somewhere and it's problem solved. Tones on that video sound really good though. Shame he didn't roll off the guitar volume a bit and show that off, that's half the magic of the Fuzz Face.
-
Tl;dr I dolunno. You're the one with the Helix, man.
-
I've got no idea how they've implemented this on the Helix. Tbh I think the input impedance issue with fuzz pedals is overblown and mostly only applies to stuff based on the Fuzz Face (so loads of stuff really, from the Fulltone 69 to the Vox Tonebender) since that circuit really relies on being able to load your guitars pickups, which it can't do properly if it's not first in the chain. It still "works" if it's later in the chain, it just sounds different and doesn't respond the same way to adjusting the volume control on your guitar. You can probably see how well the feature works by playing with that Vox Tonebender patch Tom mentioned and playing with the "first enabled" thing. Difference should be night and day. > So now if your fuzz is bypassed, it looks to the next pedal in your chain - which generally means your signal impedance goes back up to a more "normal" level. The issue is that most pedals have a high input impedance and a low output impedance. In a chain you generally want the output impedance of a pedal to be lower than the input impedance of the pedal after it. The low input impedance of the FF can fuck this if it isn't first. In digital stuff though, I've not got a fucking clue. Im not even sure how a low input impedance could "load" guitar pickups in a digital pedal. I'd have thought the first thing the guitar see's will always be an Analogue/Digital converter.

Were talking about a multi-billionaire that launched one of his cars into space just for a laugh. I'm having a hard time believing there aren't other multi-billionaires that have been watching him a see him as a thick cunt they could easily manipulate. If it's true that his main outside investors in this takeover are Qatar and Saudi based, Twitter dying on its arse weeks before a world cup in Qatar can't just be coincidence.
