  1. be interesting to see how this season pans out. I think it's a reasonable comparison ro make with robson in the early 00s, the 01/02 season robson finished 4th with 71 points, exactly the same as howe in 22/23. while it might seem on harsh to suggest robson's 3rd place finish with 69 points the following season was regression, I do think there was signs of a decline. howe last season retains a lot of leeway because of the injuries, but not completely mind in my opinion, because there was games where we were fucking woeful. by 03/04 under robson and despite what seemed a credible 5th place, we plummeted to 56 points, 15 below 2 seasons prior. I wouldn't like to be forced in to making any kind of substantial bet that this team on what I've witnessed this session will finish with 56 points, would you? arguably our 3 best players in isak, gordon and bruno all look well below the form we know they're capable of, why? are they pissed off we've failed to strengthen the first team in 2 windows, near enough a calender year. big 3 months coming up, and it's likely to start badly with games away to chelsea and home to arsenal, come the end of january if mitchell/the club haven't taken any significant steps to strengthening and reserving the decline in momentum, we'll be nowhere near 56 points next may. hope I'm wrong.
  2. I think we've all seen games where you come away at the end of the match thinking how the fuck have we not scored there? goalkeeper has had a worldie, crossbar and posts reduced to splinters they've been hit that many times. not the case in either of the last 2 games, no big surprise when pickford saved the penalty and no big surprise either when both gordon and isak fucked their big opportunities. not really a big follower of xg, but I'm gonna assume 4 is good? of the 35 shots, the vast, vast majority were either off target or as weak as piss, what my eyes saw were a team that got exactly what they did, 0 goals.
  3. aye. you keep kicking the can down the road richard till we've concocted project big picture, the european super league, fair market value rules..... nee fucker'll notice.
  4. as well as how much pressure was being applied by the american owners of the red tops. crack that one leweeze and I'll buy you pink slices forever more.
  5. so wheezekeeze's idea of investigative journalism is to read the telegraph at 5pm on a sunday and then regurgitate a few hours later in the guardian? she should stick to pondering on bromances, the stupid, pig ugly mackem cunt.
  6. I never killed bambi's mother last night.
  7. I nearly hit a deer doing 80mph on the m50 at about 00.30 last night. all this misery was close to coming to a very abrupt end.
  8. there seems to a pattern developing of the kid administrating monufuckingmental self tuckings.
  9. and more to the point, even if we did howe would leave him sat on the bench for 90 minutes.
  10. we played canny against man city, we showed more passion in the first 20 minutes in that game then we had in all games prior. we dominated possession against a fucking woeful everton, really woeful. we failed to capitalise on it because we couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. we got nil goals at everton because that's what we deserved and we also failed to give an opportunity to a young kid we paid £15m for who couldn't feasibly do any worse than what was on the pitch. brighton scored today, a minute after isak did a shola impression, and by god mind he's looked more like shola than henry in every game he's featured in this season. at that point there was a general recognition in the crowd we'd fail to even get an equaliser. which sadly, was precisely what happened.
  11. nah mate. I admire your optimism, its fucking misplaced though, we've played a quarter of a season, apart from 110 minutes we've been shite.
  12. . wake up call that. for anybody in denial apart from a decent showing against man city and a canny comeback against wolves, that's a team finishing lower bottom half of the table. fucking woeful, we've gone from a team which couldn't defend last season but at least could score, to one that can do neither. we've failed as a club to gather any kind of momentum, it all looks as stale as fuck. clock ticking for howe.
  13. almost certainly. probably shagged seagulls as well.
  14. that'll probably depend on whether @Kid Dynamite is there or not.
  15. I've every confidence shwan jalal will turn odysseas vlachodimos in to our very own greek heracles. if not, we've always got ruddy.
  16. fuck the old whisky soaked, purple nosed scottish cunt.
  17. amongst all the tales of derring do about when they took the entire city of newcastle etc on that thread, this post by former hoolie hardman/leader of amnesty international skylon stands out for me. he's had an epiphany moment bless him, don't be in the least bit surprised skylon lad that when pickford finally hangs up his tiny little goalkeepers gloves that he confesses he's been a mag all along....
  18. not really. douglas bader was better with his feet than pope too.
  19. ive never seen the first one! her last 2 picks have been fucking beetlejuice and the banshees of inisherin. both of which she's steadfastly defended afterwards.
  20. oy..... ct, what the fuck you jesusing about?? it was shite!
  21. homs are just so much more right on then rent boys though.
  22. were you aware of the glade festival? was billed as an electronic music festival with stages across the various genres, though the main origin stage was psytrance. was traditionally held on the wasing estate near thatcham/greenham common. anyway, was there in 2005, I think it was the 3 hottest consecutive days ever recorded in this country at the time, the last day of the festival was sunday and the next day mushrooms became illegal. all the stall holders who'd been openly trading exotic mushrooms all weekend had to get rid of their stock sharpish for fear of being arrested in the morning.... they were giving them all away. very, very messy day. 18.7.05. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2005/jul/18/drugsandalcohol.markoliver
