probably doubled his wages, which would help. won't stop him or others agitating for a move if we finish bottom half of the table next may. -

all season we've given away possession so cheaply, so fucking frustrating to watch. I think there's certainly some credibility in the suggestion that our better players have lost some faith in howe's methods, very probably compounded by frustration in the clubs inability to strengthen in the last 2 windows, we are a team in decline, our 12th place more than warranted. the biggest surprise for me this season is gordon signing a new contract, I wouldn't have. I think the club needs a massive lift to get back on track between now and the end of january, it could start by revealing it's intentions with regard to the stadium, new build or development, training ground, sponsorships, ideally ones which are a big fuck off to masters and the red tops, a couple of quick, decisive moves when the window opens in a couple of months time. create some fucking positivity around the place because at the minute it all just looks like stagnating, or worse. a few shipping containers plonked in the metro car park isn't good enough. -

the same players that finished 4th plus the addition of tonali, barnes, livramento and hall? -

the decline in the team which finished 4th to the one we're watching currently a mere season and a bit later is both eye wateringly rapid and all very depressing. bit like watching the leeds team which were 1st division champions but narrowly escaped relegation in the inaugural premier league season a year later... except this isn't funny. while there might well be unrest in the background with the loss of staveley and her chap and a tragically played out in public conflict since the introduction of mitchell, this isn't enough to excuse howe any longer for me. we've been fucking dismal all season, we've been fucking dismal for a season and a quarter away from home. he appears to be failing to get the best out of some quality players available to him. exit the league cup and drop another couple of places in the league in the next 6 days and he can fuck off. -
imagine a world full of happy mackems man? no more getting apoplectic when someone calls ponteland/north sunderland airport by its proper name. no longer giving a fuck what someone chooses to wear when they go on holiday or visit the garden centre. tuning in to bbc radio newcastle with carefree abandon. watching look north without spontaneously kicking the tele. wishing a long, happy and healthy life on keith downie and dawn thewlis. nodding your approval to the inhabitants of co. durham on their choice of football team. and being able to cancel your annual subscription to amnesty International with the merest hint of a guilty conscience. bizarre.

I don't like the idea of them being happy. they're fucking hilarious when they're consumed with bitterness and rage.

be interesting to see how this season pans out. I think it's a reasonable comparison ro make with robson in the early 00s, the 01/02 season robson finished 4th with 71 points, exactly the same as howe in 22/23. while it might seem on harsh to suggest robson's 3rd place finish with 69 points the following season was regression, I do think there was signs of a decline. howe last season retains a lot of leeway because of the injuries, but not completely mind in my opinion, because there was games where we were fucking woeful. by 03/04 under robson and despite what seemed a credible 5th place, we plummeted to 56 points, 15 below 2 seasons prior. I wouldn't like to be forced in to making any kind of substantial bet that this team on what I've witnessed this session will finish with 56 points, would you? arguably our 3 best players in isak, gordon and bruno all look well below the form we know they're capable of, why? are they pissed off we've failed to strengthen the first team in 2 windows, near enough a calender year. big 3 months coming up, and it's likely to start badly with games away to chelsea and home to arsenal, come the end of january if mitchell/the club haven't taken any significant steps to strengthening and reserving the decline in momentum, we'll be nowhere near 56 points next may. hope I'm wrong.

I think we've all seen games where you come away at the end of the match thinking how the fuck have we not scored there? goalkeeper has had a worldie, crossbar and posts reduced to splinters they've been hit that many times. not the case in either of the last 2 games, no big surprise when pickford saved the penalty and no big surprise either when both gordon and isak fucked their big opportunities. not really a big follower of xg, but I'm gonna assume 4 is good? of the 35 shots, the vast, vast majority were either off target or as weak as piss, what my eyes saw were a team that got exactly what they did, 0 goals.

so wheezekeeze's idea of investigative journalism is to read the telegraph at 5pm on a sunday and then regurgitate a few hours later in the guardian? she should stick to pondering on bromances, the stupid, pig ugly mackem cunt. -
I never killed bambi's mother last night.

we played canny against man city, we showed more passion in the first 20 minutes in that game then we had in all games prior. we dominated possession against a fucking woeful everton, really woeful. we failed to capitalise on it because we couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. we got nil goals at everton because that's what we deserved and we also failed to give an opportunity to a young kid we paid £15m for who couldn't feasibly do any worse than what was on the pitch. brighton scored today, a minute after isak did a shola impression, and by god mind he's looked more like shola than henry in every game he's featured in this season. at that point there was a general recognition in the crowd we'd fail to even get an equaliser. which sadly, was precisely what happened.

. wake up call that. for anybody in denial apart from a decent showing against man city and a canny comeback against wolves, that's a team finishing lower bottom half of the table. fucking woeful, we've gone from a team which couldn't defend last season but at least could score, to one that can do neither. we've failed as a club to gather any kind of momentum, it all looks as stale as fuck. clock ticking for howe.
