your last little paragraph is fucking absurd. engineered his own exit, how? I was at charlton when souness hauled him off and bellamy called souness a wanker, which he is. wales had beaten england 2-0 a few days earlier and the home support were giving him shit loads of abuse, he scored and was playing a blinder, it was a fucking ludicrous decision to take him off, we were winning and subsequently drew if bellamy wasn't our 'best player' at the time he was shipped out, who was? I'm not entirely sure why bellamy recognising souness was an absolute cunt made him thick, I would say it makes him fairly astute. oh and by the way, I remember us beating man city I think 4-3 at home under souness, it might well be the last time we actually beat the fuckers in the league. souness took him off in the 89th minute, he was unplayable that day and rightfully got a standing ovation from all four sides of the ground. may well be that not everybody shares your vitriol?

used to have a similar type of debate with me brother, who stated at the time he was shipped out celtic that belllamy would never play for a bigger club than newcastle. he then played for liverpool and man city. (

principled about what? dunno who the fuck lm is or what your argumentswith him/her were, but I can fully understand their frustration if you were stating getting rid of bellamy was the right thing to do. why the fuck is getting rid of your best player the right thing to do? you.man manage them man, not grab them by the throat on the trainng ground because he rightfully flicked the wanker sign at him at charlton. he was a million mile our best player too that day when souness bizarrely hauled him off. you don't like the lad, fair enough, but you're letting that cloud your view of the bigger picture at the time..... a lot.

acceptable to him or in general? he was right. I'd be appalled if me daughter rocked up with bellamy announcing she was gonna marry him, but on the other hand I'm more than able to recognise he was nowhere near the main protagonist behind our demise under souness, him being shipped out was. he was by far and away our best player, gave 100% every time he played for us and he was bang on the money when he called out shearer's legs having given up. they had. I don't particularly like the lad, I'm not particularly impressed that he holds a grudge against still to this day, although I can partially understand him being resentful at the way souness had it in for from the start. but to state he was he was on the same level as the others you've mentioned, while omitting shearer altogether is fucking ludicrous.

you're talking shite man, well, apart from the jenas and dyer bit. give me an example of where bellamy regarded himself 'above the team' I'll give you dyer holding the captains armband like it was a piece of shit covered bog roll at boro,, I'll also give you shearer being afforded ridiculous amounts of power off field by shepherd to atone for him calling mary poppins, it's why robson wasn't allowed to sell him to liverpool. you're talking utter, utter fucking drivel in regard to bellamy.
-
bollocks. it's you who needs to give their head a fucking shake. robson, despite stating bellamy would start an argument if he was by himself in a room always spoke affectionately of bellamy. he was by far and away our best player under souness and a million fucking million away from being the bad apple in the squad.
-
goes back further than that for me. I'm sure he was complicit with his mate souness in fucking bellamy off to celtic very much to the detriment of the team and himself. seem to recall shearer having scored 7 by january and 2 thereafter for the rest of the season. bellamy was shearer's legs.

keep telling telling lie after lie after lie and it almost becomes the truth, it's what the mackems do. fucking tragic mind when one of our legends chips in to support it, no wonder he's a sidekick to have the piss taken out of him by a gormless cunt like lineker.
-
oh and another thing..... the cunts that go out their way to defend him, fuck them all too. I very much include shearer in this, they could've moved his fucking statue to the middle of the wear.
-
detest this fat cunt. he was the straw on the camel's back that came within a midge's dick of me detaching myself completely from a club I've loved since the back end of the 60s. he's a lying, smarmy, self centered, talentless, undignified, repulsive piece of human scum and I sincerely hope nothing any good happens to him for the rest of his life.

apart from the statue of jimmy hill, which is already sitting itself.

n.u.s.t., is there any point in them?

this is quite clearly him before he grew his beard..... -
aye, I remember going in there a few times. main meeting up points I recall was the globe at liverpool street market, especially for those who'd got the friday night mail train down getting in to london at 6am, was then off to summer's bar at king's cross to meet the late arrivals! just as an aside, I once chatted to john conteh in the globe, he was already pissed at 8am, mind you, so was the vast majority of newcastle's support in there too!

the bloke on the left looks like fletcher's escaped from slade prison.

just out of interest why did you assume the point of the thread was a jab at hurst? I never mentioned him at all. perhaps it's telling though that the mention of superfan would bring you that conclusion! I considered joining at the time a membership cost £1 annually but being as they'd already been at pain to point out that they weren't a protest group i decided it was too expensive. their recruitment drives however always seemed to coincide with whatever latest atrocity ashley had committed. as far as communicating with their membership goes I obviously wouldn't know but I do occasionally look on their website and it appears to not having been updated since the time of their 2021 elections nearly a year ago other than a note to say they'd abandoned the 1892 pledge (not dated) and were working on how to donate the £200k raised to charity, something which appears to be taking a lot of mulling over! as far as the pledge goes, I thought it was well meaning although the idea of raising £6m was fanciful at best and very possibly delusional, but when they do get round to handing out the donations it will at least have been worthwhile, so credit for that. I'm gonna take a punt and guess their membership is on the decline (hence the topic) no doubt as a result of the takeover, especially from those who joined as a response to ashley being a cunt, although I could be wrong and they're beavering away on other projects I know nowt about as the only time I ever actually hear them mentioned now is when michael martin gives them a plug in his truefaith editorials. as far as hurst's podcasts go, i've never listened to one, nor do i particularly want to. he does appear to be skysports and jamie carrigher's go to voice of newcastle so his self promotion appears to have done the trick. personally don't see much difference between him, wraith or the training ground stalker really, but there you go! -
I'd so no, other than to serve as a platform to boost the ego of a few superfans. whilst a 'proclaimed' membership of 13,000 seems respectable enough it was built up largely on the back of opposition towards ashley but failed miserably to ever particularly take any reasonable stand against him. iis there any need for it at all now?
