  1. If we don't win against Brighton and then subsequently don't sack Bruce immediately, we're down. If we win against Brighton with hopefully ASM, Almiron and Wilson all back after the international break we might be OK, even with the cabbage in charge.
  2. Another nail in the coffin today. Southampton are lucky they are on 33pts because they look atrocious without Ings in the side, and even he was a bit out of form before he got injured again. They'll probably scrape six points from somewhere in nine games though. We on the other hand face the six pointers of all six pointers, you know until we play Fulham last game of the season, against Brighton next week. Hard to see where the inspiration is going to come from, you know apart from Murphy šŸ˜‰ Almiron can't do it all on his own if he's back either.
  3. šŸ˜„ True enough. Having a circular argument with an idiot about who's shite and who's average in the team, or who use to be in the team, is a pretty decent example of the dangers of too much time on your hands during lockdown. But again I was also an idiot for taking the bait.
  4. Nope, not babbling, and again it's you who's talking shite. You'll have to tell us what logic there is in connecting relegation to a fan preference over two players šŸ˜‚ Oh and given that you used an antisemitic slur repeatedly a few pages back, it's you who should consider deleting their account, you know apart from just generally talking misinformed nonsense.
  5. Again you're just a bit lacking in comprehension skills mate. It was crystal clear what I was referencing and what I meant, as in if we needed to wish we'd been in favour of one player over the other, by that logic our preference has some sort of power over events such as the possible relegation. And popular opinion isn't always correct, but if you usually find yourself on the other end of it, it's probably you that's the problem.
  6. 🤣 What so the apparent majority of Newcastle fans thinking Murphy is better than Ritchie is going to contribute to our relegation, should it happen. I thought you'd reached the pinnacle of shite talk, but that's something else.
  7. šŸ˜‚ Caught talking shite? What you mean like the time when you said Ritchie was a better shout than Murphy, who you thought was shite, and the majority on here, on Newcastle fan media in general, pundits such as Shearer etc, thought the opposite.
  8. 😐 Christ, I really shouldn't bother, it's like talking to a brick wall only less stimulating. Manquillo was badly out of form when he was first bought by Benitez, and then was played out of position for a season. He's also played over twenty games less than Yedlin, which again given he played about a full season out of position could in effect be counted as even less games given he wasn't able to play to his full potential out of position. So your so called stats are built on nonsense, and they are made worse by the fact that while Manquillo is clearly a better footballer they are both well below the best attacking fullbacks so we're talking about degrees that would need to be examined in the micro level with percentages spent in attacking thirds, dribbles, completed crosses etc, but I'm not about to subscribe to opta. Having said that they eye test clearly tells anyone who knows football that Manquillo is the better footballer, as OFT also said.
  9. šŸ™„ They don't as I've clearly pointed out in terms of games played and in what position, and as I've already clearly pointed out you must be getting very desperate to keep bringing up a comparison that was clearly hyperbole, done in jest and for effect. But again perhaps you really are just not that bright.
  10. I don't know about you, but I think there's a very big difference between a smear of shit and having to eat a sandwich full of it. But again the art of subtly alludes you.
  11. Are you actually Mr literal lacking comprehension skills, or are you just desperately trying to construct an argument around me clearly using hyperbole to emphasise how shite I thought Yedlin was in the attacking third. I literally call Manquillo only slightly above average in the very next sentence. And Manquillo has scored in the premier for the mackems, whereas Yedlin has scored twice with over twenty games more and playing in his favoured position for that entire time. We're not comparing top level players here clearly in terms of the premier league, just like when we were comparing Murphy and Ritchie it's the difference between a shit sandwich, and a sandwich only smeared in shit. The fact remains though that if you've actually been watching our games over the last few seasons Manquillo, when in form and position, isn't the headless chicken that Yedlin was when he found himself in the attacking third.
  12. šŸ˜‚ Again we're talking about degrees, but of course subtly is entirely lost on you. Murphy scored 9 goals and made 6 assists for a poor Sheffield Wednesday side in in one season, so I argued that brought him above the level of shit, which you were describing him as, along with what he's shown this term and the other night. That Murphy was comparative quality when he came on the other night is a majority opinion in the fanbase on social media. You are clearly in the minority. The best Lewis ever did for a strong championship side in Norwich in a season was four assists.
  13. 🤣 Manquillo never had the honour of playing in the Championship, the FA youth cup, and the Under 21 premier league where most of those stats come from for Lewis. And Yedlin has a little over twenty games ahead of Manquillo in terms of minutes on the pitch. Raw appearance numbers can be deceiving. And you also have to take into account the fact that he was played out of position at left back for about a season under Benitez because we didn't and still don't really have one, at least one that can both attack and defend. I'm pretty sure you don't actually watch football, but as low as the bar is set Manquillo can actually cross a ball and has a bit of a footballers brain, whereas Yedlin clearly has neither of those things. His only asset is his speed, which is why he did relatively well in the championship.
  14. šŸ˜‚ The truth is that the vast majoirty of Yedlin's goals and assists came in the championship and the MLS, while Manquillo has for the vast majority of his career played at the top level in Spain, France and England, so a crucial bit of context missing there. Mate you clearly know fuck all about football if you think Ritchie and Yedlin are worth any time defending. If you actually watch the games and know a bit about football it's clear that Manquillo is our best all round full back with Dummett having him beat pretty handily on the defensive end of things. The best full backs from an attacking sense, as in ranging from good to world class, in the premier are Bellerin, Tierney, Targett, Lamptey, Chilwell, James, Alonso, van Aanholt, Digne, Justin, Pereria, Castagne, Robertson, Alexander Arnold, Cancelo, Walker, Shaw, Reguilon, Doherty but he's out of form, Cresswell, and Coufal. Manquillo is out of their range being only slightly above average as I said, but he's not down the bottom with the likes of Lowton from Burnley, and our very own Krafth and Lewis.
  15. That you have Luke Edward's picture as your profile is perhaps a rare moment of self awareness.
  16. So which is it? Are you pointlessly pretending I seriously compared him to Cafu, or perhaps your comprehension is just that bad, or are you criticising me for saying he was above average in the attacking third, for a full back obviously.
  17. Manquillo isn't that slow, Yedlin is just very quick compared to most. The major problem with Yedlin is that he has more than enough pace to get into attacking positions, but has close to zero quality once he gets there. Manquillo by comparison is fucking Cafu, and Manquillo is only slightly above average in the attacking third. Yedlin literally needed to find himself in the penalty area with an easy couple of metres pass to set up an opportunity. And Manquillo is also decent in defence, and by far the most reliable out of the three in terms of not making unforced errors. He did go through a long period of poor form when he first came to the club under Benitez, but in fairness he was playing out of position at left back, and he's more than proven himself since then in terms of the levels he can get to.
  18. Three clangers, the one for the second goal being the worst obviously, and a total collapse in the second half. It has to be seen in the context of playing Citeh, but three clangers are three clangers regardless of who you're playing. Lets hope it will knock the confidence of the Fulham defence a bit, and bring back some early season mistakes into their defence. Would love a few more from Citeh here.
  19. Yeah to be fair it will all be gone with Cabbage about. Don't know what I was thinking.
  20. In fairness I think they overreacted to how bad Almiron's injury was going to be initially, Almiron is made of surprisingly strong stuff for the size of him, and I think it was more of an impact injury as opposed to ligaments, iirc. I understand your concern fully though given Cabbage's record on injuries, but it's getting to that stage of the season where we will have to take some risks with injury. I'd be more worried about him bringing ASM and particularly Wilson back too early given the nature of their injuries. They could easily break down again with groin and hamstring injuries respectively. Thankfully though I think this international break may save our bacon in terms of giving them a bit of extra time to get fit.
  21. Almiron might be fit for Brighton according to the cabbage, so that's an incredibly small glimmer of light. Maybe if Almiron starts ahead of Joelinton we can stop arguing about who's slightly shitter between Murphy and Ritchie šŸ˜‰
  22. I brought up Joelinton because that's who he'd be starting over were I to take someone out of the team, and I brought up Ritchie because that's who you think should be starting in that positon. It's not that hard to understand mate. And a lot of Ritchie's goals were scored in league two, Murphy has closer to a half his goals, yes he is five years older, Ritchie's legs have gone, and he's a considerably worse player than the average player he was when they weren't. And while the Championship is not the premier league you clearly have to be better than shite to score 9 and set up 6 in a poor to middling Sheffield Wednesday team who look like they're going to be relegated this season. Is Murphy anything more than near the bottom of the table quality, no, is he better than what Ritchie has shown over the last two season's, absolutely. But as you say these aren't facts and only opinions, yours just happens to be wrong, and of course lacking any sort of basing in knowledge given you had no clue what Murphy did last season.
