Cabbage's sack of useless shite v The Special One's special ones
Polarboy replied to sammynb's topic in Newcastle Forum
Was that half a pretty big improvement from Brighton? Yes. Is that saying very much? No. Krafth isn't a fucking premier league, and probably not even championship level player. Clark does have the odd mistake in him, but he's objectively a much better player than Krafth will ever be as proven once again today. Another woeful selection decision by Bruce. At least he swallowed his pride somewhat and played S. Longstaff who I thought was very composed for the assist. You can be guaranteed that Hendrick would have conspired to fuck that up in the same position. That is if it's even likely he'd put himself in such a dangerous position in the opposition box. Would have bit your hand off for a point beforehand given our current form and with the cabbage in charge, but even though it's still only 2-1, and Spur's defence looks very shaky, Kane, Son etc will likely always get at least one more. -
Were you watching the match on sky last night? One of the commentators actually said we'd be happier in the bottom three than where we are now if played more attractive football 😐 The level of ignorance is astonishing. Either that or these so called experts are just making obviously counter factual statements to generate anger clicks for want of a better phrase. Then again I shouldn't attribute to malice what I easily attribute to incompetence. Obviously there's little point in talking about Merson's recent comments, he's obviously long fried his brain with all the booze and coke, not that he was likely ever a contender for the brain of Britain. At least Stelling pretty much apologised on twitter. Those Newcastle fans love to be entertained was another gem, as if other football fans aren't bothered if their team plays like shite.

The real tin foil hat theory is that Ashley thinks he'll also be able to recoup the lost value on the club because of relegation from the Premier League, given they, supposedly, illegally stopped the sale to the Saudi's. But the aforementioned of course is clutching at the entirety of the US agricultural output of straw.

One of the Sky commentators did actually point something useful out, in between trading in ridiculous cliches about what we supposedly demand as fans, when he said that Bruce and his coaches seemed to be making decisions by committee on the touchline. I think it's very likely that Bruce was asked to bring another coach in with Jones or be sacked, and now we don't have actually have one leader on the coaching side in the dressing room. That's likely a large part of why players are disillusioned and don't seem to give a fuck, again because the coaching side of things is a fucking shambles.

Bruce in post match interview : I've never ran away from a fight. I'm not a quitter and I won't quit now. Translation : I've never left a job without a payoff or another job lined up, and I won't start now, it's not like I actually give a fuck about Newcastle or am actually a real supporter of them.

They've stopped playing for Bruce, and in certain respects I can't really blame them.
-
If we were going to lose we may as well lose big. There's only so much that even Ashley can ignore for fear of having to spend money. I hope Brighton score another few. Although goal difference could be problem of course, but getting rid of Bruce is more important.
-
Fucking Sky commentators actually seem like they're trying to wind us up, but they're just fucking clueless and believe every cliche about us as usual. Apparently we'd be happier even if we were in the bottom three if we played more attractive football.

I used to hate the international break and having to wait two weeks for the next fixture. The one silver lining of having Bruce as manager is that's been beaten out of me.
-
Shelvey and Hendrick, the fucking even less funny version of the Chuckle Brothers.
-
If we lose from here, which seems highly likely, or even scrape a jammy draw, and this shite doesn't get Bruce the sack, it will be the most illogical non-firing of a manager I can remember in my lifetime. Only Ashley would help orchestrate such a fucking unwanted oddity in football. A big problem we do have is that even if he does sack Bruce it will likely be Jones who takes over as the cheap option. Although in fairness who that is decent would take over at this stage. I know some of us, including myself were quick to jump on the Jones train, mostly because anything looks better than Bruce and of course that Everton win, but this split striker shite is wank. And according to Rob Lee, who's son played in the Luton side that Jones was coaching, that split striker nonsense is definitely his doing. It might work with the right players, but persisting with it without the right players is madness. Of course maybe it's Bruce who wants to persist even with so many injuries.

Commentator : Newcastle fans of course love to be entertained. What you mean like every other football fan.

Confirmed line up: Dubravka, Manquillo, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Hayden, Shelvey, Willock, Almiron, Fraser, Joelinton Lets hope Manquillo has a good game 😉 Murphy probably deserved a start, but he's good option off the bench to keep in reserve. If I had to guess the plan is likely to give Almiron an hour or so, bring Murphy on, and play Joelinton through the centre as opposed to wide on the right. Only Bruce knows why Shelvey is still worthy of a place.
-
It's over to us then, but we couldn't have asked for a better start to this weekend. Well Leeds messing up their goal difference a bit more would have been nice obviously. Of course I really shouldn't get my hopes up that we'll actually capitalise on this. Bruce is likely looking at this result and thinking, well I'm definitely parking the bus tomorrow, as opposed to 99% certain.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Polarboy replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Fucking great player, don't know what you're talking about 😉 😂 Edit. Fucking VAR, I could cry so I'm going to choose to laugh manically instead. -
If we don't win against Brighton and then subsequently don't sack Bruce immediately, we're down. If we win against Brighton with hopefully ASM, Almiron and Wilson all back after the international break we might be OK, even with the cabbage in charge.
-
Another nail in the coffin today. Southampton are lucky they are on 33pts because they look atrocious without Ings in the side, and even he was a bit out of form before he got injured again. They'll probably scrape six points from somewhere in nine games though. We on the other hand face the six pointers of all six pointers, you know until we play Fulham last game of the season, against Brighton next week. Hard to see where the inspiration is going to come from, you know apart from Murphy 😉 Almiron can't do it all on his own if he's back either.
-
Nope, not babbling, and again it's you who's talking shite. You'll have to tell us what logic there is in connecting relegation to a fan preference over two players 😂 Oh and given that you used an antisemitic slur repeatedly a few pages back, it's you who should consider deleting their account, you know apart from just generally talking misinformed nonsense.
-
Again you're just a bit lacking in comprehension skills mate. It was crystal clear what I was referencing and what I meant, as in if we needed to wish we'd been in favour of one player over the other, by that logic our preference has some sort of power over events such as the possible relegation. And popular opinion isn't always correct, but if you usually find yourself on the other end of it, it's probably you that's the problem.
