  1. I mean you could just stop acting like a protestant 😂 Gemmill after someone slags him back 😂
  2. You should probably be asking Ewerk that 😉 I just value originality. I was surprised you didn't break out the It's only sunny meme again. Anyway, it's all jokes, a bit of back and forth.
  3. Whereas your "wit" will never get tiresome or repetitive 😉👍
  4. Reading a bit more about it, it's likely his fee won't be that much lower than Hernandez's. Seems unlikely that we'll sign him in that case. Can't see us shelling out close to 100m on our defence alone. I mean if there's anything to the Disasi links as well, or if we're even just going for that level of player at RCB, then we'd easily be getting close to the 100m mark if we try and sign someone like Dimarco on top of that.
  5. In terms of LB's in Serie A, this guy is as close to Theo Hernandez as you're going to get in terms of what he can offer in attack. Would be an amazing signing if there's anything in this. He'd be a mate for Tonali as an added bonus as well.
  6. https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2023/07/10/newcastle-closing-in-on-frenchman-as-toon-agree-personal-terms-with-two-players-reports/ No idea how reputable this Steve Kay is, but according to him we've agreed terms with Disasi and now we just have to agree a fee with Monaco. Man U are apparently hamstrung by not having moved Maguire on as of yet. Maguire perhaps being a stubborn twat, and not wanting to leave, might actually help us. Tonali, Disasi and Barnes would be a quality way to start the window, with hopefully a left back and an attacking mid and or a forward to come. Obviously I'm going more by reputation than first hand knowledge on the first two, at least in comparison to Barnes who I've seen plenty of. This Kay guy perhaps got his "scoop" by using google translate on the guy below. #Newcastle and #Asmonaco should quickly agree on a sum of 50 M € concerning Axel #Disasi . The club has already agreed with the player on a 4 season contract. #mercato
  7. Chicken nonce has just written the exclusive that we "may" sell ASM in order to fund further transfer business. Fucking Nostradamus this guy.
  8. Supposedly Daichi Kamada, who was set to join Milan as a free agent from Eintracht Frankfurt, is available and has been offered to both us and Spuds. At least according to 90mins. The restructuring of the hierarchy at Milan apparently resulted in Kamada being left twisting in the wind. He could be a very decent option in that attacking mid role on a free, if we find ourselves struggling with our budget. He had 23 goal involvements last season in 46 games, 16 goals, 7 assists.
  9. If we get Disasi or another CB of similar level, obviously Barnes is looking close, get a LB who will probably cost around that 20 to 30m mark, and are still after an attacking mid/forward; that lot along with Tonali would come to roughly 200m. Maybe we won't get another attacking player, but I still wouldn't be surprised if the stories about us flogging ASM to Saudi are true. As has repeatedly been said, he's easily our most saleable asset in terms of who we'd probably be willing to let go. If ASM is the difference between us only reinforcing the defence, after we get Barnes, and being able to bring in another attacking player, then we have to flog him. We are still in need of someone who can unlock a team who've parked the bus.
  10. Hopefully Man U are too distracted with getting Onana and Hojlund over the line, and we can steal a march on them. He's no Chalobah like, but he'll do if we get him 😉👍 It's going to be an interesting end to the window if we're still after a centre back, attacking mid/RW and a left back. Monaco produce some class players, so this kid could be the real deal. Him along with an elite LB and a young exciting attacking mid will be a great way to finish our business.
  11. 6 goals and 4 assists last season for a centre back is pretty crazy. At 25 and pretty established, he seems like he'd be direct competition for Schar's place, as opposed to someone who would be his understudy for a season or two.
  12. The Mail are reporting that we'll pay 25m, or we'll at least bid 25m, for Barnes. If we get him for 25m that's incredible business. A French publication is saying that we're "preparing" to bid for the 19 year old attacking mid Rayan Cherki off Lyon. Chelsea have also been heavily linked with him, so we'll have to hope they don't beat us to yet another young player, should we actually make a bid.
  13. Ben Jacobs has said we're still looking for a player of the profile of Maddison and Szoboszlai, as in a versatile attacking mid. I can only really think of Veiga and Kudus off the top of my head, in terms of players of that profile we've been linked to who are yet to move this summer. I say linked to but the real truth is that there's a relatively small pool of elite players for each position. So every big team is "linked" to said players. If Veiga is really a target of Citeh's we can pretty much forget about him obviously. I mean unless we could assure him of more playing time compared to what Pep would be willing to offer. But I can't see Howe giving someone that kind of guarantee. I'd assume he's pretty strict with the, everyone has to work hard in training and work their way into the team ethos.
  14. There was a fan poll on twitter and iirc over 80% were in favour of the transfer. As per the noisy few are creating a false narrative.
  15. Another voice to add to the chorus. I can't wait until the 'ammers fans start accusing us of stealing their transfer targets again 😂 They probably shouldn't employ The Proclaimers useless younger brother if they want competence in the transfer market.
  16. I think you'll find that his full name if Harvey Norman Moonpig.com.
  17. Our front three are going to be ridiculously quick regardless of who takes the right wing slot. Gordon if he's played on the right is ridiculously quick, Almiron, even Murphy has decent pace, and then the exciting options of either Chiesa or Diaby.
  18. Seems like the Guardian are just regurgitating what the Telegraph said, but you'd assume that they would check their sources as well before putting something out. Once all the major papers start saying the same things it's a pretty decent sign.
  19. Well I wasn't being entirely serious, they're different players in different positions obviously, but I do think he can potentially score and create more goals than Maddison, after Howe gets his hands on him for a while as you say. Again though, given it's the Telegraph we should probably postpone the hand lotion somewhat. Edit. Romano has picked it up? Interesting. If I recall correctly he wasn't fooled by the Barella stuff.
  20. Would people say Barnes is a bit underrated? And I'm not just saying that because he might be signing 😂 I've seen people on twitter act underwhelmed and or say that ASM is a better player, which is ridiculous even if you just look at their goal involvement stats in their careers. With Maddison at Leicester I think he was a bit in his shadow, but clearly Barnes is the better player now that "Madders" is off to Spuds 😉 👍
  21. Chicken nonce and the Telegraph were well off the mark with the Barella stuff, which if you believe The Athletic was intentional on the clubs part, so we'll see what happens. I'm liking the thought of Barnes on the left and someone like a Chiesa or Diaby on the right though. A lot of goals down both flanks. Having said that it could be that Howe intends to play Gordon down the right and Barnes will be the one big first 11 signing on the wings.
