  1. Well in the case of the Premier League if they know that documents are on their way, or are still being assessed, they probably don't want to comment until they're ratified. Didn't they deny that they'd received documents from the Sheikh's group a day or two ago? So if they are quiet now that should be a good sign. As for the club Simon Jordan was just saying that it's normal for the seller to be quiet at this stage.
  2. The Premier League and the the club have apparently declined to comment when asked about this latest statement from the Sheikh's reps according to the BBC.
  3. Either this Sheikh is the chancer of all chancers or this is actually happening. I can't see how making all these statements and having it all fall apart would benefit an international business group. Surely they run on reputation, so if this descends into some embarrassing non-event debacle it could only be bad for them. I know they failed with their Liverpool bid, but apparently that was complicated by being partnered with Chinese investors, and as far as I remember they didn't make statements anything like the ones they've made about us.
  4. From the way he was talking it seems what he did know was off the record from people who wanted to keep things out of the paper during a negotiation.
  5. Edwards at the Telegraph expanding on his brief comments in an article just released there https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/05/27/newcastle-united-sceptical-bid-fromsheikh-khaled-will-lead-sale/ He's very sceptical about this Sheikh on the basis of what his contacts have told him, but the good news is that there are other parties who are supposed to be in negotiation. It was some of those parties who called bullshit on the club being more or less sold, given that they would know if it had. As has been said before when the club is sold we'll likely not know anything about the buyer until after it's bought.
  6. It would be just our luck to get the skint, by Arab royal family standards, Sheikh trying to buy our club.
  7. From Peter Graves on Twitter - Statement from Bin Zayed group being stood up by #nufc officials is clearly a MAJOR breakthrough. Many will only believe it when its "official" and that is wise in my opinion. But told by a source that group intend to invest heavily in club and City. Could be hugely exciting
  8. No need to worry, I'm sure Fat Mike will take the Sheik and his entourage to Wetherspoons and vomit in a plant pot when their backs are turned.
  9. Fair do's it did say concluded, but I don't, for my own mental health, want to act as if this is done until I see Rafa with the Sheik on the pitch.
  10. The Mail are reporting that the Sheik's reps are saying he's close to buying us. They're also reporting that they are very keen to keep Rafa on. Holy f*ck I think this actually happening.
  11. I'm getting ahead of myself I know, but I honestly don't what to say or think to this news.
  12. Not to piss in our collective cornflakes before they are even poured, but will fair play hamper a Citeh style transfer blitz, at least to begin with?
  13. Given that I don't read the sun, do they have form for putting out supposedly funny prank headlines? As someone was saying it seems far too good to be true for the Mackems to lose the playoff final and for us to be sold to a Billionaire Arab Prince.
  14. Hopefully this is an auspicious time to start an account on here. As some have said the sun seem to be speaking in very definitive terms for a bullshit story. It feels like April fools and I'll hate the sun even more if this turns out to be complete nonsense.
