I'm not that fussed that we're out of the cup run but to concede three to Oxford is shameful for a team which is looking to be back in the Premiership next season.
-
I still think they could see Defoe go now that van Aanholt has left because the quality of players around him just got a little worse and he knows if a replacement comes, it won't be enough to save them. They're expecting a kicking at Spurs mid week and their game against Palace is a must win with less than a week to get any new player in.
-
And I bet they don't get the irony that part of their financial woes are due to the loan payments to the US company Short passed a huge chunk of debt to will have increased as a result of the shitty post Brexit exchange rates.
-
And that's the bit I don't think we should or need yo do. They're asking for 13m so they doesn't lool bad on their books.
-
They seem more in need of funds than we're in need of Townsend so we don't need to pay that.
-
As long as we make cash from it I dont care. He's not worth 13m for us to buy.
-
We don't need Townsend back for 13million. He's on the bench of a team stuggling against relegation and not getting a game. If Sam really needs cash then he'll be happy with 10m
-
If this is being stalled because Ashley is being cautious investing in Premiership players before we are promoted and only wants loans then good on him. I'd rather not have Townsend than end up with him pushing to leave again in the Summer at our financial loss if we didn't get promoted for some reason.
-
It won't be easy but it's not a forgone conclusion. With this years TV revenues due, three years of higher paracute payments and player offloading the club could stay afloat although it would be both hard and not and easy few years. If they are going to go bust it will be before the end of March so they take the points hit this season.
-
It's the ones who can't separate relegation and administration. They're convinced that finishing in the bottom three will be the end of the club and that isn't the case.
-
I got tickets for the other as part of her Christmas present to see the Kaiser Chiefs later in the year but after listening to their lastest album it has a less of an light indie feel and more "your BBC Saturday mainstream now" kinda of vibe

I think he's had the shit beaten out of him with Sports Direct last year and wants to be seen as the good guy again. NUFC is the success story from the shit pile which was being dragged in front of a select committee and then having his club relegated. He didn't even see much positive press when he bought up BHS and it came out that he tried to save it from going into administration.
-
Much as Ashley's business models raise an eyebrow he isn't stupid and will be able to see that as a product NUFC is doing fine and has changed for the better. The supporters are happy and therefore will be spending on merchandise, the clubs position is on track for returning to the Premiership and the mood around the club is mainly positive with criticisms being aimed at individual player performances rather than the club itself. He's not going to destable that momentum when it's moved so much in less than 12 months.
-
Are we really looking to bring Townsend back and if we do it has to be for less than 13m surely? http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfers-magpies-thought-interested-12456094

FA Cup 3rd Round - Birmingham City v Newcastle

Are there any dates / times yet for the replay? -
That's assuming they have the luxury of turning down realistic offers. If the rumors of Short turning his back on them and their focus to streamline is true then it could be whether they are Premiership or Championship next season isn't as much of an issue as ensuring the club as a business survives. Their CEO talking about multiple transfer windows to restructure earlier in the season hinted at the latter in which case Defoe will go this window for around 10m which would see them lose 4m from that deal compared to risking 10m if he walks because of a relegation clause in the summer.
-
The Defoe thing this transfer window will shine a torch to exactly what is happening at their club. If they enter into any discussions for anything around 10m then they aren't looking at Premiership football next season as a priority and balancing the books is more important than league position.
-
That's something else completely and linked the delta between their belief they can write hours of entertaining material and their actual ability which is close to inept.
-
Most of this stuff seems to be very deliberate and I think there way to show that they are basically untouchable as far as complaints to Amazon and or OFCOM which followed them around so much during the last few seasons of Top Gear while still getting them headlines for being so outrageous.
-
I think I've read that the family are going to use it to create a 'Bradley Foundation' to help other kids.
-
I think they might. If by March they stand no chance or remaining in the PL, Short can call in tye administrators and avoid the point deduction from being rolled over. Being in administration will let them have reduced HMRC payments and allow him to access more of his cash than he stands to get if he was to try and sell them at theoir current price plus debt.
-
If they are on as broke as is being suggested, what is the cutoff to go into administration to prevent the points deduction being carried across to next season?
