    Anybody that points fingers at the supporters before themselves needs to get the fuck out of town. McClaren's coming across a bit of a kissarse at the minute but even if he was a slightly worse coach than Pardew, which he isn't, I'd still prefer him. Surprised Pardew hasn't issued a statement thanking himself for their Cabaye capture mind.

    We've got Sissoko, Cabella and De Jong that can all play in that similar position. Makes me wonder if we're waiting to get in him before one leaves. Similarly with Austin or Mitrovic, we'll be weaker if they join at Cisse's expense. We need a centre half, a quality left back, a striker and some proper out-and-out wingers. Oh and a goalkeeper as well.

    Simply not true, it was arranged even before the end of their season. No waiting around for better offers etc. "Yohan told us yesterday – first me, then the whole group before the game – that he has chosen to join Newcastle. It is a choice that I respect, although I wish he continued the adventure with us."

    We should have been in for him like. That we weren't is a clear enough sign that nowt's changed. Lack of leadership and experience cost us last season. The solution? Buy more youth of course.
