  1. Would've thought myself as more Dopey tbh. Made meself look like a right cock lately.
  2. The team set up in a 4-6-0. No word of a lie, it definitely seemed like that. De Jong was playing that 'false 9' role. At home. To a midtable Championship team's reserves. That incredible idea dispelled any thoughts that McClaren has accumulated some tactical genius in his previous roles abroad and at Derby.
  3. He never seemed to want to get on the ball. Jumped out of a few tackles too.
  4. Back from the game. What an absolute shambles. Absolutely pathetic. Shite. Woeful. And I heard their starting XI was their reserves? The way the team was set up was questionable, as were the substitutions. Should of been 0-2 after they hit the bar from 6 yards. Fans were booing the players and coaches when they applauded after full time, and the fans then applauded the Sheff Wed players, not before some chucked their season tickets on the pitch. Can't wait for Saturday. Scary days lie ahead. (I also like how we've turned the Dutch Player of the Year shit in, what, 6 weeks? )
  5. I think you know I'm talking about the mackems...
  6. If we don't finally beat that shambles of a team...
  7. Do you reckon he's already typed the 0-5 after x amount of minutes
  8. I'm going to this. And I really have no idea why. Anyway, Big Schteve said in his press conference: Our last 5 games vs The Owls @ SJP: 2009/10 won 1-0 1999/00 won 8-0 1998/99 drew 1-1 1997/98 won 2-1 1996/97 lost 1-2 Massadio Haidara, Jack Colback and Papiss Cisse are claimed to be nursing the classic Newcastle 'knocks' making them doubtful. Score prediction? I dunno, err, something like, um, 3-1? Howay.
  9. Our start this season (fixture wise) has been shocking. Most difficult start in the Premier League. Pardew had a similar start last season vs easier opponents on paper at the time. His opening fixtures were Manchester City, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Hull City, Stoke City and Swansea City. At the time the fixture list came out I was expecting around 10 points from those games and we got 4. The only good result had was the away Swansea draw. When the fixtures came out this year, If someone told me were would get 2 points from Southampton and Manchester United at Old Trafford I would have told them they're full of shit, but we did. All of the performances in August this season, apart from the Swansea one, were really good. I expected 4 points from our last 2 games after what I have seen in August but we have 0. McClaren is still inaugurating a new system into the team and he's admitted he doesn't know what his best team is, so there's time yet. Give him until December, and see where we are then, although I sheer hope we pick up points in the fixtures we have after Man City away: Norwich (h), mackems (a), Stoke (h), Bournemouth (a).
  10. Who even is he? (sorry, I only joined this forum recently)
  11. This is what they said btw, not that anyone would care though: Matt Law: “Who’s the player who keeps turning up in tuxedos to games?” John Richardson: “That’s Mbemba.” (Also Florian Thauvin). Law: “Is it? I saw pictures of that - I think that’s an absolute disgrace.” Richardson: “Of course it is.” Law: “I think when the club haven’t won a game and they’ve gone through what they’ve gone through, and the fans are turning up paying their money and you’ve got clowns turning up in tuxedos before games to have their picture taken, I think it’s an absolute disgrace. They may as well all turn up in a circus outfit next week because it’s just stupid, absolutely stupid. That club to me, like Sunderland, like Aston Villa, is just rotten and they need big changes and they all deserve to go down.” Neil Ashton (of the Daily Mail): “Just on that point Matt, you’d have thought there’d have been a dress code.” (Players are asked to arrive at St James’ Park in suits.) Law: “Yeah and you know people argue: ‘Oh but he’s smart.’ Club suits, club tracksuits or whatever - I’m not massively smart myself, I’m not prissy about people having to dress in a certain way. But people going in dressed in a tuxedo to go in and have a picture taken with a big smile on your face is just an utter disgrace and it’s just taking the mickey out of all the fans up there.” Richardson: “You can do it if you’ve won the league, but you can’t do it when you’re bottom.” Law: “I’m not even sure you can do it then.” Rob Draper (of the Mail on Sunday): “You wouldn’t be so bothered if they were playing well but the way they are playing at the moment I agree it’s totally inappropriate.” Law: “You may as well go on with a curly wig and a red nose. It’s stupid.” Richardson: “That’s Coloccini!”
  12. Did anyone catch Sunday Supplement this morning? Well, according to some of the journalists on there, Newcastle United deserve to be relegated because Mbemba and Thauvin turn up in tuxedos.
  13. After having slept on it I would like to say what I think, of both the shambles match yesterday and this overall stance on McClaren. Firstly, the players. Krul - His defence was absolutely atrocious and some say he couldn't really do anything for the goals. I felt, for the first goal, he shouldn't be beaten at his near post. Janmaat - The fact that he is our joint top goal scorer and our main attacking threat is pretty embarrassing. Our RB was having more shots and showed more desire to beat men than any of our attacking players. Worrying stuff. Colo - After putting in great performances vs Manchester United & Arsenal I felt, at the time, he was back to his best because of this new contract he's received. After West Ham and yesterday I feel he's still past it and those performances against Man U & Arsenal was probably because we were defending so deep, so his lack of pace couldn't be exploited. Deeney, a player who has spent most of his career in the Football League, bossed him. Mbemba - Looks like our best signing of the summer so far. But he got took apart for the second goal. The tackle/block on Deeney's shot was great on looks like he could be one of the best defenders we've had. Haidara - He tries, no doubt about it, but his decision making is just, well, appalling. Was at fault for the first goal by handing the ball away to Watford. He's still only 22 and it could be just down to poor coaching. Should we keep him? I'm really not sure. Colback - I don't rate him and I have no idea why so many fans do. Whether it's because he's a Geordie or whatever I don't know, but in my opinion, he's a Championship footballer. Yes, he gives 110% every time he plays but I would rather play Anita. Wijnaldum - No doubt about, he is a great footballer. I'm still amazed we managed to sign him tbh. But, is he being utilised correctly? He was bought as a playmaker, wasn't he, but we can't get him the ball enough so it feels like he's anonymous. Sissoko - Was involved in the game but still didn't look bothered. Most of what he did in the second half was wait for Janmaat to overlap him so he could do something. His attitude boils my blood. No way is he CL quality. He can fuck off for £15m to the bench of some 'big' club he always wants to join. Perez - Player with the most potential in the squad. You can tell he loves the Toon, he gives 110% and is quality. Will only get better but he barely got the ball yesterday. Thauvin - Has been poor in the last 2 games and a lot of fans are questioning the club's acquisition of him. I think that there's something about him. I honestly have no idea what it is. Look, he's 22, he's just came to a new country and league and hopefully this little phase is him just adapting to it, but you can see he wants to take players on but it just hasn't been working for him vs West Ham and Watford. Cisse - Drop him and sell him in January. Onto McClaren. We've all seen the mongs on the internet saying 'McClaren Out' and they can fuck right off. Six games in. Yes, last two games have been shite and the set up has been questionable, but give him until Christmas and see where we are then.
