I actually thought people on here knew my first name as it's been mentioned and it's on my profile and the 'introduce yourself' topic but I guess one of such intellectual prowess such as you couldn't know that.

Been a name on the old Xbox for many years and it just sort of stuck. I clearly couldn't think of an imaginative forum username such as yours though.

I can't believe I managed to get into an argument with this mackem from my school. Shouldn't have replied in hindsight. Should have just left this tweet alone to expose how clueless he is.https://twitter.com/JoeyPoulter_/status/657592515063906304

A season after being the best Ligue 1 young player... There's good player in him, it's up to himself & McClaren and his coaches to get it out of him. I hope this is speculation otherwise once again we see a player written off after a handful of appearances because they don't turn out to be a huge success straight away. The stick he has been given and the fact he has been singled out when others have gone largely unpunished is a joke and sums up everything wrong at this club right now (and yes that includes some sections of the fans - those who insist on searching high and low for a focus of their abuse). He has shown enough for me that he could be a good player for us, but he needs time and to be brought into games gently, vs Norwich when we were 5-2 up would have been a good opportunity. So much was put on him to be our saviour after the first game that I'm not surprised he is feeling the pressure.

Deal was bit odd, have to admit. But some of our fans...calling him shit and he should go back to France after a couple of poor performances from the entire team and he was scapegoated for being one of the few players who wanted to beat their man. Only had one real shocker imo vs Sheff Wed. Playing poorly is part and parcel of the game of football though, as much as we don't want it to be. He's young. Give him time. And I agree with the part of that article where it says we should have put him on vs Norwich when we were 5-2 up instead of vs Man City 6-1 down.

Generic small time football blather thread 2015/16

They'll be well up for it and I have no idea who'll be up for it for us. I've never been confident for these game since the second 0-3 but I never predict us to lose. We'll win by two goals but we'll still concede with our clip of a defence. 1-3

After reading back that post it seems that the only thing that must have been in my head when I typed that must have been that 2-4 win at West Ham. Shame I never saw Sir Les & Shearer or Cole & Beardsley...
-
Aye, unfortunately. We can just pray we can hang onto both of them for as long as possible. We should always have Ayoze and Mitro up top together. Screams a similar sort of deadly partnership as Owen & Shearer, when Owen was not dying from injuries.

Didn't Spurs try to get him in the summer? Club told them to fuck off by all accounts. Rightly so.

This post...wow. 'This is exactly the issue I have with NUFC fans - they have an over inflated sense of where they are in the football world.' Do we? Really? Good craic. Try proving that. 'They genuinely seem to believe they are a Top 8 and always a couple of wins away from getting into Europe.' No, we don't. Bloody hell, I'm 14, 15 in December and even I know this is a low-midtable (11th-14th) season for a platform for McClaren to rebuild the team. We know what we are and this stupid, annoying stereotype always infuriates me; and the fact they believe it proves they truly are the contradictory, pathetic troglodytes we all perceive them to be. I still remember the 1st game last season when my in-laws came back from watching the match (1-3 loss to Man City) full of arrogance and cockily stating they were quality and would have "no problems" that season. 1. The fact he actually 'remembers' this is pathetic. 2. Usual 'mag at work/mag in-laws' mackem craic. 3. This is the 2012/13 season he is referring to? IIRC we only brought in Anita in the summer that season and I knew after the 0-1 loss at home to West Ham that we weren't going to be in the top 6/7 that season. I thought we might manage top 10 but that run we went on that season November-December was atrocious. We all knew it was the relegation fight for us come the turn of the New Year.
