I think the alarm bells aren't going off because of the fixtures that we've had. We played 6 of last season's top 8 in our opening 8 fixtures and the only real 'fuck me' results so far have been Watford & Sheffield Wednesday in the cup, and maybe the mackem result as well. And I think everyone was worrying last year because our start was much easier then: Manchester City (h) Aston Villa (a) Crystal Palace (h) Southampton (a) Hull City (h) Stoke City (a) Swansea City (a) Leicester City (h) If we had those opening fixtures this season we would have more points imo. And keep in mind we've been down to 10 men in 3 of our opening 10 games (Swansea, Arsenal & mackems). And, as you've already said, we've played some of the best football I've seen Newcastle play in my lifetime (which isn't very long mind. I've been watching hoof the ball almost my entire life). I think he'll be 'judged' by the fans at the end of November. Maybe even after Saturday. But I don't think we'll be in a similar situation to last season this year.

They started to pick up themselves in terms of results but they lost at home to Watford last week. I guess they're just a less shite version of us. -

Hopefully they go down to 9 men again and another Halloween 5-1 comes for us. -

Hopefully we play as well as we did against the mackems and actually put away our chances this time. 3-1. -
No one put a foot wrong until that moment apart from Tiote for getting booked so early on.
-
When was Lascelles shite? I was at the Sheff Wed debacle and he didn't do anything wrong, nor was he guilty of any wrongdoing when he came on vs the mackems.
-
Oxlade-Chamberlain & Walcott were forced off in first 20 mins apparently.

3-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Debuchy having a nightmare n'all.

And that semi vs Manchester United @ Millennium Stadium. Nicky Butt's top class performance.

Souness took us to quarters didn't he? Sporting Lisbon?
-
Exactly. The loss to Derby and the 1-4 home loss to Portsmouth man...

Club charged with failing to control players Why would they charge the club for that when they agree with the fact that it wasn't a red card?

According to Keys? That's what I've seen. I would be surprised if we have and the red card is rescinded, as if it is the FA are basically saying the referee ruined the game.

Did Spurs lodge a £15m bid or did they just enquire? Either way the club completely blocked the transfer in the summer. But I doubt they will next summer though like.

But if we were to play him in this new 4-4-2 system then he would have to go in the middle of the park or we would have to drop either Perez or Mitrovic - something which no one wants to happen.

If we did play De Jong in the midfield, who would he alongside? Colback - A Championship footballer imo but always gives 110% and does his best to try and win the ball back and keep it. Anita - A good footballer who looks like he's finally come good in both the final few games of last season and the first few of this season, but he's too small to dominate a midfield in the Premier League. Tiote - Will either be superb or a massive liability. He's got the physicality to fit into a PL midfield and will always get stuck in but he will pick up stupid yellow cards which nullifies his job as a defensive mid.
