Yeah the Hughton years, both in the Championship and the spell he had with us in the PL was probably the best time I've had supporting NUFC besides 2011/12. (So sorry if I have made people feel old again) Just thinking about under Hughton in the PL, will we ever have a team again that would be capable of digging out a win at Arsenal like we did? Or finally beating the mackems 1-0 never mind bloody 5-1.

Yeah a young, ambitious, upcoming manager is the last the mongs running the club would do. We all know that Ashley and Charnley, and Llambias before him all don't have the slightest clue about football, but why can't they look at clubs like Swansea, or the best example imo, Southampton. Look at where Southampton are now. All stems from the foundations laid down by Pochettino, who is one of the best managers in the PL right now imo, and now built upon by Koeman. I don't understand why they can't look at the structure Southampton has and think 'we could do that'. I know that the main thing Ashley cares about is publicity for his vile company, but if we got back to the level which Southampton are at now (edge of Europa League places, 6th-9th) would he not think he could get more publicity for SD as SJP could be in European competition? Which would be good for fans (European football), the Club, and the publicity for SD as it would be shown in Europe. We all know the bullshit we have heard the cretin say in the past but, he said in that interview that scraping a Champions League place would count as winning a trophy to him. What would Europa League count as to him then? An issue because he would have to invest in squad depth?

The infuriating thing about this (even though there are a fucking load of infuriating things about NUFC) is that Newcastle United would be a dream project for an ambitious, young(ish) manager, like Rodgers and his sort of compeers, to rebuild a club into a force again, getting fans excited for matchdays who haven't been exicted for a long, long time, build a competitive squad and perhaps, even become a legend. We've all heard and we all probably agree the Newcastle United are probably one of the biggest 'sleeping giants' in world football right now. How the fuck can a manager do that^ under this ownership and structure and why would anyone want to work under this ownership and in this structure? Pardew: sacked by a then League 1 Southampton (< says a lot that doesn't it) and somehow given the NUFC job by his mates after the wonderful job Chris Hughton did. Carver appointed to save cash, and it almost backfired on the cunts in a massive way. McClaren, even though I do like him as a bloke and I do think he gets the club, and he wants to play decent football, how does someone who's side imploded in the Championship get the right to be the next Newcastle United manager? Like ffs man...

Generic small time football blather thread 2015/16
Haydnator replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
They're all from Newcastle-Online aren't they? I guess they all want to fall under the opposite of the colloquial 'mag at work' stereotype which is the 'canny mag'. -
I feel sorry for McClaren. I think he's a decent bloke and gets what Newcastle United means. But when he took the job I think he was oblivious to just how apathetic and poor some of, if not all of the players were. He wants to play decent stuff and it was great for the first 4 games of the season, we had a bit of a rough patch (West Ham, Watford, Sheff Wed) but we picked up again (Chelsea, first half at Man City, Norwich, mackems, Stoke) and now, a patch which has turned everyone against the club again.

Homologous opinions of both I and the TF writer summarised in an article which typifies what both he and I think about the current NUFC. So yeah, basically plagiarism. I'm a fraud. -

Keegan is the same bloke who said "Don't ever give up on your club, keep supporting it, it's your club and trust me one day you will get your club back and it will be everything you wanted it to be, Newcastle United is bigger than anyone. It hurts I know, but just keep going, he is only one man, we are a city, a whole population. Trust me." Me and my family seem to be going down that route^ and I'm all for it. I've seen a load of people who have jacked it all in insult matchgoers like myself and accuse me of being an 'Ashley sympathiser or collaborator'. Sorry like, but what has their actions had an effect on and how will a boycott change anything? Look at Rayvin's post. Ashley is apparently going to 'put his hands in his pocket' in January. I'm waiting till then to see if he approaches this the correct way, it's his last chance to do so before I'm joining a boycott. -

This. ^ from TF which are pretty much my thoughts and views and experiences with and on NUFC. Have to give credit, otherwise that would be plagiarism wouldn't Rayvin? -

Review of the season so far game by game. Southampton (h) D 2-2 - Gallant draw from our point of view. Players looked up for it and we played decent stuff. Still were evidently suspect defensively. Mitrovic looks mental. Swansea (a) L 2-0 - Janmaat got himself sent off for being an absolute spastic. Ten men, what can you do. Could have been 3 or 4. Mitrovic kicks off. Gets booked, again. Manchester United (a) D 0-0 - Defended excellently. Mitrovic hit the bar, Perez came close and Thauvin almost nicked it. Great performance. Northampton (LC) (h) W 4-1 - An untroubled dispatching of lower league opposition. Never managed that under Pardew. Arsenal (h) L 0-1 - A debatable sending off of Mitrovic in the 16th minute had us backs to the wall. Defended excellently. Brilliant cohesion. A change in the way we approached games perhaps? West Ham (a) L 2-0 - Was it fuck. A Pardew/Carveresque performance. Shite. Watford (h) L 1-2 - See above. Sheffield Wednesday (LC) (h) L 0-1 - An absolute shower of shite. Worst performance for a very long time. It was against their reserve side as well. A change in approach to cups eh? Fuck off. Chelsea (h) D 2-2 - Were excellent. Should have won had Sissoko not been a headless chicken and give away a needless free kick. Mitrovic looks the real deal. Manchester City (a) L 6-1 - Were brilliant in the first half. Had an offside goal wrongly disallowed and could of been 1-3 or 1-4 at half time. What the fuck happened in the second half? Don't want to talk about it. Norwich (h) W 6-2 - Only Newcastle United could do this: concede 6 previous game then score 6 next game. Was a flattering scoreline tbh. Both teams' defences were shitstorms. mackems (a) L 3-0 - Best we've approached a derby in years. Disgraceful red card handed them the game. Should have won, but worryingly no taking any of our half a dozen chances. Stoke (h) D 0-0 - Would have won 2-0 or 3-0 had Butland not been so brilliant. Poor result from our point of view. Bournemouth (a) W 0-1 - How the fuck did we win this? We were fucking shocking yet somehow won. Take it anyway though. Leicester (h) L 0-3 - Words cannot describe how utter shite and pathetic we were. Worse than the Sheffield Wednesday debacle. Almost as bad as the 0-6 vs Liverpool under Pardew a few years ago imo. Crystal Palace (a) L 5-1 - Showed everything wrong with the current state of Newcastle United Football Club. Liverpool (h) W 2-0 - This club... No real threat from either team first half, but the effort throughout the match was something we've hardly ever seen in recent years. Deserved win. Spurs (a) W 1-2 - Unbelievable. This must have a massive effect on morale now, beating two top, in form teams. One in their own backyard who haven't lost since the opening day. Is this a good thing, or a bad thing? We'll have to wait and see. Aston Villa (h) D 1-1 - Two points dropped big time. We've GOT to be beating teams like Villa at home. Very frustrating. Apart from a 20-25 minute spell in the second half, we were pretty untroubled, but in that spell we could have lost the game. We missed sitters. But if someone offered me 7 points from the next 3 games before the Liverpool game I would have snapped their hands off. On we go. -

There wouldn't be as much boycotters as there were at the Spurs one though. All but 1 of our fixtures this month are on TV. Do one of them. -

Like someone said in the comments of that article it's a little too early to organise something. The boycott Spurs craic was going around after the Derby defeat and they had two weeks to get the message around. -
Aye. I've got to say if I had to pick between them to play at LB it would have to be Haidara. I remember he was awful earlier in the season too Howay, it was the Watford game where he tried to nutmeg a Watford player and that lead to us losing the ball and Ighalo making it 0-1. I just feel Colo is always having to cover two positions which isn't particularly ideal. Loads of fans were saying sign a LB in the summer but the mongs upstairs failed to do so once again. I would say we should sign Jetro Willems from PSV but 1. It's another unproven young foreigner and 2. Would he even want to come anyway?
-
All of the keepers we've had have been shite at organising the defences in front of them. Tbh although he is an awful captain and was awful for the past 2 games, Colo gets dragged out to Dummett's position all the time as he is always out of position, so Colo is covering two positions. Haidara is sometimes the same but him going forward is justified at times as he can put a decent cross in although we don't see it often.

Drop Sissoko and strip Colo of captaincy. Sackless cunts. Tiote is back for this game btw. Thinking about it, the wankers in our team will choose this game to turn up for, as it's against one of the 'bigger clubs' isn't it.
