I said it’s one of a lot of reasons I took a dislike to the EU. There’s more to it than that, but as I’m fighting a losing battle I’ll leave it on this topic. .. anyway.. since GDPR implementation - i still get as many junk calls to business and personal phone (if not more), still get just as much spam, still get bombarded with emails when I register for anything.. as far as I can see the only change is I’ve now got to click on fucking pop ups at every website I visit But, again, if we end up staying in the EU so be it. No sour grapes from me. Just want it all done, whichever way it goes. Good luck.

People already had to abide by data protection laws, disclosure of information used in privacy policies, have the option to opt in or out of anything anyway.. It was a bit of a drastic change imo.
-
Dear me. It was just an example of a stupid eu rule that’s pissed me off. Get a grip man.
-
I’m no fan like..
-
What now then ? No Corbyn thankfully but a spineless leader still at the helm.
-
He did email them and a lot didn’t opt back in hence losing a third of his customer list. A lot of people just ignored those gdpr mails that everyone was sending - there were tons.
-
You asked what rules piss me off personally. Only answering. And I’m not the only small business owner who has had this increase of costs, I know many owners who voted the same way.. also nobody mentioned GDPR. One guy I deal with lost nearly a 3rd of his customer database because even though they’d all opted in fully compliant at the time of becoming customers, he no longer can email without new consent. Luckily doesn’t afftect us much. Yes I get there’s a big hoohar on privacy, but people already disclosed cookies and abided by data protection rules before the EU law, it was a bit drastic .. Defo gone this time before a reply ping

Anyway.. As always I am onto a losing battle. See you later ladies.

I'm not arsed about paying VAT. You collect it from the sale and pass it to the Gov. That isn't the issue. Regarding the EC sales being a piece of piss, that all depends on how many transactions you need to account for in various places. But yeah, I guess you know how every business operates.
-
When you do business in the states (or other non EU territory) you fill out a foreign entity exemption form and then you can just get on with it, included revenue in your normal accounts .. If you do any business in Europe as a EU member, you have to complete a second VAT return called EC sales, on which you need to specify all the transactions with any other member countries. We have it all sorted now, but fuck me what a headache it was.. and it still increases our accountant bill.
-
ok, ones which are not totally specific.. but kind of piss me off and have made life difficult for me and others I know along the way .. VAT rates to consider in various territories and the extra accounting costs that brings .. the GDPR and cookie laws . I’ll think of more soon enough ..

I was simply highlighting how they were prepared to bow to the Swiss, but when it came to the UK- not a chance. Stubborn to us.
-
Fuck off man, where did I say it’s because eu wouldn’t give us special status on immigration that I made my vote?
-
I’d rather not get specific to my business on a message board thanks, but you go ahead and keep trying to point the immigration finger at me
-
Anyway. If there’s a 2nd referendum so be it. I’ll go with the majority, and get on with it, unlike the losers last time around lol
-
I know, it’s shocking isn’t it. But it’s not all about me
-
Certain ones specific to my business and other businesses which I think would be better off with a more UK centric approach to them. That’s all.
-
No I didn’t ? fuck off man
-
My personal beef isn’t specific to immigration, it’s the EU and all their “rules”, immigration included. But the Swiss deal was blocked until the UK had dealt it cards.
-
Anyway . gripe over for today
-
Yeah but an economy crashing out of the eu the size of UK, is going to wreck them also. They could have given more of a fuck imo
-
Thats my main gripe with the EU, they’ve never given a fuck about us. And have been stubborn as hell during all this process because they know a “good deal” for the UK will prick up the ears of other unsure nations. I remember this article from back before Brexit vote, there was talk of cutting a good deal for Switzerland on migration and other things.. then they banged it on hold as soon as they got wind of Brexit and referendum. Probably because we would have had good ammo for an easier deal imo. Shady as fuck. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-eu-swiss-idUSKCN0VZ1OU If they hadn’t been so stubborn to Cameron way back when he tried to get us a better deal.. it’s possible none of this would have happened.
