  1. Well you know the kind of stuff he normally watches so it sounds like it'll be fine. I've just mentioned it to his dad so he's aware. MF - will let you know! He keeps trying to persuade me to let him watch Deadpool. He's 7 ffs!
  2. Listened to the podcast last night. He kept making the point that it's far more intense and violent compared to the others and that he'd be extremely wary of taking "younger" (aged 7-10'ish) kids to see it. Naturally the bairn is going this afternoon with his dad so I guess we'll see..
  3. I've been rubbish at posting recently so thanks for the votes chaps (not that you have many choices ) I still read and keep up but life gets in the way of loafing like I used to! Consider me as the disapproving mother, watching from a distance ready to smack your legs when you think you're getting away with using that word (Gemmill ) Anyway, I still post more than CT, just.

Apologies for being very late to the birthday party thread but hope you had a lovely day
  5. Very random but if you're on Twitter and have a look at @NHS it being taken over by several healthcare professionals across the UK to highlight various aspects of the NHS and it's work. This week it's being run by my colleague Angela from our theatre department at the QE. Have a look and see what we do..
  6. Yes, it's another cool contribution from moi.
  7. Made from a bedpan and 2 urinals at work last year. You're welcome
  8. Watched Miracle on 34th Street yesterday. It seems to be the first Christmas film I catch every year and despite my Grinch-like non-appreciation of the season makes a little bit of the Christmas spirit creep in.
  9. Happy birthday chaps. Hope it's been a good day
  10. Sorry this is late Tom. Muchos birthday happiness to you
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38136658 Another attack on students at a Uni campus in America. My cousin's daughter is a student at this Uni and her mam has been frantic all day as she was at lectures elsewhere and didn't know what was happening at Columbus. How many more times are we going to see this?
  12. You'll be in A&E if you carry on with that kind of shit! NOT A EUPHEMISM.
  13. He knows I love him really Well, in a nursey kinda way. (not a young, student nurse kinda way..)
  14. Yeah cos predatory, ageing male nurse practitioners are their favourite type of company on a Christmas do..
  15. I'm not bothering with mine this year. It's at the same dive that it's been for the last 2yrs where the booze is cheap but rank and too many people turn into arseholes after getting absolutely hammered in the first hour. We have been given permission to get Christmas scrub tops though, so anyone who turns up for emergency surgery and is absolutely shitting themselves will be no doubt calmed and reassured by the sight of us in gingerbread man/santa claus/snowflakes get up.
  16. Leaking back door here. Not a euphemism.
  17. Nah, Fish just tries to be more clever and hilarious than anyone else but it doesn't always work. He tries really hard though, bless him
  18. Maybe it was the flailing limbs whilst I was bent over him. There's something to be said for being in control
  19. A bloke collapsed in front of me on the way up to the station and started fitting on the pavement. It was hoying down and I wasn't going to keep walking. Took an hour for the ambulance, by which time I'd been kneeling in a puddle for the duration. All good in the end though.
  20. I endured a 3hr train journey wearing wet knickers today. That is all.
